We arrived at the hotel around 9 pm, after checking in, we found ants in the room and EVEN in the BED!!! After 11 pm, the lights are turned off at the reception and there are no employees, we had to contact the hotel caretaker to call the manager. The manager arrived only at 8 am, we spent the night at the reception, as we could not stay in the room with such conditions.
Return trip of a week to Sri Villas, where I would happily live forever. The service and ambience is incredible. We had such fun playing cricket with the houseboys , exploring the beach and doing local trips up and down the coast by train and tuktuk . Another wonderful holiday. Thank you and our thoughts are with Sri Lanka during these times.
We decided to hit Bentota rather than heading back to Colombo, so this was a pretty last minute choice; we couldn’t be happier we made it. Sri Villa would probably be more appropriate than Villas, this was likely once an open and single dwelling that has been converted into guest rooms. For our stay, 2 of the 3 days we were the only guests, and it felt like we had the run of the place. The long pool and bedroom balcony had expansive views of the ocean, the Villa itself sits on the beach, The staff and in particular Sudesh are welcoming, jovial and attentive. They couldn’t do more for us. The food too, especially Sri Lankan dishes, were exceptional. We loved staying here. It was relaxed, comfortable and honestly felt like home after just a few days. We’d highly recommend it.
Sri Villas is located at the beach (where it is not really possible to swim due to huge waves and current). The place has two buildings with a swimming pool in between. In the two villas are the ok rooms. The price you pay for a night is -in our opinion - and compared to what we experienced during our 14+ roundtrip in Sri Lanka not in balance and too high. Staff is sweet, sometimes good but also sometimes not experienced. Food served ok but also not special. The male owner did not realise that a talk at the end of a -for us romantic- evening is not always appreciate by everyone. One of us stayed in order to be polite but this was not how we would have liked to end our roundtrip.
We have recently returned from our weeks’ stay at Sri Villas. We thoroughly enjoyed our break, the food was excellent, the staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. The location is ideal for touring and we managed to travel up and down the coast while we were there, hoping to return again soon.
We nearly didn’t come here as were in two minds due a bit of confusion on questions pre- booking and our whole trip was last minute so we were relunctant to leave where we were. My goodness I’m glad we came. I’ve been to sri lanka 8 times and I can honestly say this is one of my favourite places. It is literally heaven- and all i wish is that we could have stayed for longer. There is nothing I would change and it exceeded expections beyond everything I hoped. We travelled with my 4 month old baby and 3 year old and they and we couldn’t have been happier. The staff are wonderful, the food is delicious (calimari and daal a highlight). Sure it’s quiet but if you’re after calm and ease- the pool is stunning, the beach is virtually private, you go to sleep just hearing the waves. It’s perfect. If you’re in two minds- or travelling with children and wondering- just go. It is way way better there than a big hotel with children. There is shade, breeze, pool toys and the biggest sandpit in the world and you can have dinner by the sea with children asleep inside. I never write reviews but this place is special and we are already working out when we can go back. Eliane and your team thank you so much- you should be so proud x…
We stayed here for 6 days last week and absolutely loved it. The rooms, the location on the beach, the food and most of all the service from all the people there, everything is superb. I would like to make one little extra praise for Udesh. He was even more friendly and helpfull then the others and that says something! Eliane, I hope you proud of all of them and of your lovely place. 10 out 10 !! Bohoma Istuti to all of you !!
We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't fault the venue, the location and the service. The food (especially the Sri Lankan food) was amazing. The staff were always on hand but discreet and put a lot of effort into making our stay memorable. This is our second stay at Sri Villas and we definitely look forward to many more visits
We had an amazing stay in the first week of March this year at Sri Villas. The owner Carolyn and the whole staff were so friendly, always with a smile, always ready to help and make you feel at home. 3 beautiful villas with big rooms, a great pool set just in front of a beautiful empty beach. Perfect for sunset strolls with the owner's dog Blackie :). The food for breakfast and dinner always delicious. And you are always in great company with. Thank you Carolyn and everyone at Sri Villas for making our stay so special !!
We stayed six nights and had an absolutely fabulous time. The location is exclusive and secluded and offers everything you could want -- a perfect spot to just relax on the beach. The attentive, professional and friendly staff round out the overall experience. The food is wonderful -- I can't say enough of how delicious the curries are -- and overall the Sri Lankan cuisine was outstanding. The rooms are exquisite and well serviced, and the property lies just meters from the roaring ocean. We highly recommend and look forward to visiting again in the near future.
