We arrived rather soggy after a day on the Pennine Way and were greeted with tea and lemon drizzle cake (our favourite). The pub in Cowling doesn't serve food, so Sandy kindly gave us a lift to the next village. Very clean comfortable room.

This was the fourth day of our Pennine Way walk and on arrival at Woodland House we were made very welcome by our hosts with drinks and homemade cake. The room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed breakfast. They were very helpful with instructions back onto the path.

The cleanest b&b ive stayed in. The room was beautiful and spotless, small but adequate bathroom, the breakfast was lovely with all home cooked including homemade bread and jams, the owners were lovely so helpful. Would recommend and defiantly return if we get over there again. We were also given a donation to the charities for our nine day Pennine... More

Very warm welcome with tea and freshly home-made delicious cake. The room was very nice, with a tiny but tidy and functional bathroom. Very good breakfast (even those not enjoying a cooked breakfast will be satisfied!), including valuable information about the way. Dinner in the nearby pub was better than expected upon the first impression.

Went to Woodland for 1 night stay , met by excellent hosts Susan & Sandy . Stayed in en-suite double room , spotlessly clean , basic and homely feel, with tasteful decor . Room had everything you need inc., tea/coffee making facilities and even bathroom toiletries. Would highly recommend...

3 of us stayed here last night on our Pennine Way. Susan and Sandy looked after us really well and as walkers themselves they were interesting to chat with. Delicious lemon cake with tea when we arrived was a real treat. The twin room was rather compact. Everything was a good standard.

We stayed for one night in January, welcomed on arrival and shown to our room, which was en suite, nice room for a one night stay, we just found a lack of places to put things, especially with no bedside cabinets, but this is probably because of space. Small bathroom with shower, but everything was very clean. Breakfast the next... More

Not only was my room very comfortable, with every detail considered, but the hosts were completely fabulous! When I arrived I got a little lost. Susan came into the road, in the rain, to find me and guide me to the B&B. I was offered tea and cake and enjoyed a chat with her and her husband Sandy. The room... More

Everybody else has already said it! The hosts are so welcoming and bend over backwards to help. Tea and cake on arrival. Breakfast was lovely. The room was spacious and had what you need. Totally recommended.

Susan and Sandy were excellent hosts - Susan even threw my socks in the washing machine for a quick rinse/spin. When I arrived after a long day of walking, I was greeted with water, tea, and cake. They are walkers, so they understand the needs of walkers. Highly recommended.
