This is one of the best B&Bs I've ever stayed in. We arrived late in the evening and were immediately made to feel very welcome. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable and they welcomed our elderly dog. We unpacked quickly and spent the first evening outside by the fire with our hosts, Carole and Barry, who made...

We stayed for three nights in one of the best location of the island. The room was spotless clean and bed's very comfy. Carole, excellent chef, prepares a memorable breakfast according to your selection.... Excellent kippers, jam, and all the rest of the typical scottish breakfast. Fresh and delicious... The very friendly owners, Carole and Barry do everything in their...

This B&B is in the country so very quiet. Room was convenient, good size, reasonably clean. Carole, the hostess, is very friendly and a lot of fun to talk with. She gave great advice about distillery tours and restaurants.

We stayed at Ayen B&B for three nights in early September. It was perfect for us. Carole is as great a host as anyone would want--friendly, caring, excellent advisor, terrific sense of humor... And wonderful cook. We loved the locstion--easy to reach the rest of the island. Carole was great--she directed us to a number of hot spots--our favorites were...

We wholeheartedly recommend staying at the Ayen Cottage. Checkin was a breeze. Carole was there to walk us through everything. She has comprehensive binders that make one's stay on Islay easy: Wifi passwords, distillery information, taxi phone numbers, restaurant menus, and the like. The room had some of the most comfortable beds I've had in Scotland, outside of hotels that...

Carol and Barry are a lovely couple who went out of their way to accommodate us and help with local info & knowledge. They had obviously rung ahead when we visited nearby Ballygrant Inn as we were treated as honoured guests, and we even got invited to a party! The guest house is very comfortable and the breakfasts are first...

This B & B is run by a very friendly couple. The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfasts were super, made even better by sharing a group table and swapping information with the other guests. Carol is fantastically organised but still has time to chat while delivering menu-chosen breakfasts and Barry has built and developed the cottage buildings...

Carole and Barry were incredibles hosts - we loved our visit and they recommended the best places to visit. The location is perfect - we were centrally located so we could easily get to all places on the island. Carole let us know when we needed to make reservations, gave us insights to the places that everyone in our party...

Very friendly and welcoming; bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable and were kept so during our stay (5 nights). The breakfast and packed lunches were excellent and the dog made very welcome. Would not hesitate to stay again.
