Very quiet , minimal entertainment. Limited communication in regards to complimentary breakfast. Very uncomfortable bed in room 315 . The most welcoming experience was Stacey in the breakfast area very pleasant and inviting Annie @ the front desk vey friendly . Overall, we enjoyed the experience. Always room for improvement.
Getting to Anguilla is a lot of work right now but we thought it was 100% worth it. This property is newer to the Hilton portfolio and just reopened on July 1st. Once I was able to communicate with the hotel (reopened), they were super helpful with the logistics of travel. The transfer from St. Maarten to Anguilla was less than ideal with Funtime Charters. Everyone had their hand out for tips, which was not a good start to the trip. When we finally got to the property we were met with such an accommodating and welcome staff. Welcome drinks and an extensive golf cart tour started the experience off right! On a rewards stay, I was disappointed not to have a loyalty (diamond) upgrade in a hotel at roughly 25% capacity. We were given a lovely room but it was on the first floor of the furthest building from the beach. We found the food and drinks at the hotel delightful and delicious but pricy, which we expected. Breakfast was included for everyone and was delicious right on the beach. The hotel is known for its spa and it was not cheap, but worth every penny of the splurge. We went on our first full day to start the trip off right. It would have been nice to see a discount for hotel guests, but whatever. All of the staff was diligent an professional. I could not say enough positive about the staff. I happily gave 5 starts for this review because it is a Caribbean beach paradise. It truly is and this was probably the most relaxing vacation we have ever had. …
We can’t thank you enough for the lovely room change you offered us a few weeks back. It was too generous. We have been telling friends and family how lovely the resort and the island was. I already have enough points to come back for another stay. We will be making another visit the same time next year. Everyone from Guest Services, pool staff, dinning, and housekeeping could not have been better. I have visited many nice hotels and have never received such family like service as we did at Zemi. The seafood/lobster dinner on the beach on Weds was incredible. The Friday night happy hour on the beach was so neat. They set up couches on the beach for us to sit and watch sunset. Thursdays complimentary happy hour was a lovely touch - getting to meet all the managers while sipping on free drinks. Tanero in the pool area was incredible. He reserved our sofa by the pool every day along with towers and free waters all week. Having meals with our feet in the sand was an added bonus. The food was good everywhere we at at the resort. Can't wait for your visit next year!…
Our Anguilla vacation at Zemi Beach House was the best vacation we have had in a long time. The accommodations are luxurious yet understated, comfortable and relaxing. The appointments invite you to sit and enjoy the beauty of Anguilla. The infinity pools are breathtaking. The food is consistently delicious and creative and served by very friendly and accommodating staff. The beach seems endless with its aqua colored water and white sand. We will definitely be returning to Zemi Beach House - our go-to vacation resort!
The genuinely kind staff from the restaurant staff to housekeeping to the pool staff (thank you Stefani) - we felt like we were among family. We traveled with our baby and at every corner someone from the staff would say hi to him and make him smile. We just really loved the staff so much here. We also loved the hotel itself, the pool is beautiful and the restaurants are fantastic. Never change, Zemi. We hope to be back soon! ~ George, Annmarie and baby Nicholas
One of the best hotels on the island of Anguilla. It's great that it's apart of LXR collection with Hilton, being a Diamond member they always upgrade us, and treat us like family. The property is a stylish boutique hotel located right on the best beach on the island Shoal Bay. Checking in, the staff are great, and courteous, they will have a freshly look made Rum Punch waiting for you and they will give you a tour of the property and resort which helps you get settled in. The two pools are amazing, one right in front of SBE and the other more private and calm. The pools are heated and the staff go out of there way to help you stay quenched and refreshed. Javier and Tunero provide five star service and go above and beyond in customer service and make sure everyone is enjoying there vacation at its fullest. The property has a great spa which has many awards for there treatments and facilities, it also has a fully stocked gym, and beautiful tennis courts. The food is great, the breakbeat is amazing with a freshly made egg station, fresh smoothies and juices, as well as a great assortment of vegetables, fruits and other freshly made items. If your looking for a nice dinner spot, Stone is the best restaurant on the island. It has the best steaks as well as many seafood choices to choose from. Make sure to say hello to the resorts head chef Sabatini Emanuel's, he is one of the top chefs in the Caribbean having worked in Dubai and other places around the world. He truly cares about what he presents and serves his food with passion. There are many choices on the island of Anguilla, Zemi is great if your looking for a beautiful beach in Shoal Bay, and a staff that is very personable and goes out of there way to make sure each guest interaction is genuine and caring. If your haven't visited the island before, I would suggest a rental car so you can explore the island and and not have to keep paying for taxis.…
Zemi is lovely. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Beds are comfortable, and the Frette sheets and towels are great. It feels like a boutique hotel with a good number of restaurant options and a beautiful beach. Sushi rolls are very small for the price. But it is a great option for lunch or dinner. Areas of improvement: The service on the beach is fair. It took a long time to get beds set up. We had to ask several times to have umbrellas opened, and replenishment of water was not consistent. The beach attendants are inattentive. On two occasions they forgot to bring our food or did not put in the order. The dinner at 20 knots was pretty good. But we waited over an hour for our meal, while people who came 30 minutes after us were served first. At breakfast, the service was better but spotty at times. The coffee in the rooms was not always replaced but the cleaning was great.…
I have had the good fortune of receiving scores of massages over my longish life and I feel as if I must tap out these letters to write that the massages given by Surya, as well as the kindness of the staff at the Zemi Beach House Spa, are among the finest. I highly encourage you to give it a go.
Writing this review during my last 24 hours on the resort -- will update if anything substantive happens to change what I'm about to share. In summary: This resort is absolutely gorgeous, but they fall substantially short of the service I have come to expect from Hilton's top properties. The place is great... it has such incredible potential that I find it tragic that I'm unable to give it 5 stars. The good: Zero complaints about the accommodations, the facilities, the beach. For beach lovers, Anguilla should be in the top three Caribbean destinations. Staff superstars: Javan, Jeanelle and Anneris (Annie) really made our time special. Such positive energy, responsiveness and diligence from all three of them. And consistently. They really set the gold standard at the resort and I do hope that they are recognized for that. The bad: Frankly, at this price point, everyone at the resort should be superstars. There's a substantial gradient of service across the staff. Some people just seem very "blah" about everything. I'm not sure how else to describe it. It's not quite rude, but it's not very friendly either. There's also a "computer says no" mentality that just doesn't match the rest of the environment. This is not a Hampton Inn. In fact, most of the times that I was told "no", I was able to get to "yes" by involving customer support or one of the staff superstars. Here are a few situations that I encountered (in reverse order): 1 - Caribbean BBQ night. We made reservations for the BBQ. One of my family members is vegetarian. When we asked about what options would be available for vegetarians, we were told "not much at all". So we asked for an accommodation on the food or a discount on the price of the BBQ for that family member. Computer says no. So we cancelled everyone's reservations. The carnivores were quite disappointed. But this was a rather ridiculous hill the hotel to die on. So they lost out on the revenue from the entire family just to avoid accommodating a vegetarian. More broadly, the vegetarian options on menus were --- ok, but lacking flavor and variety for a stay beyond 2 or 3 days. The chef was open to feedback and willing to deviate from the menu; but overall, nothing really had the rich flavors and textures that we've come to appreciate in the Caribbean. 2 - Kids club. Wow. It's not good. The staff were extremely soft-spoken, monotone, mono-expression, slow moving.... just the exact opposite of what children find engaging. The kids spent 2 hours in the kids club on the first day and we could never convince them to return. That's extremely unusual -- we usually have to drag them away from the kids clubs at other resorts. I've never seen anything like this. In fairness, we couldn't convince them to go back to try again and compare. Maybe day 2 would have been amazing. But, I don't blame them. It felt like a funeral home with kiddie art on the walls. 3 - Upgrades. I've been a Diamond member for 10 years now. I've experienced the hotels that really appreciate my loyalty. This is not one of them. They only offer Diamond members a space-available upgrade to the very next room type - even if they are at low occupancy. Again, computer says no. There's no real benefit to being a Diamond member. This perk is available to Gold members as well. Ok, no problem. So I enquired about a paid upgrade to a suite since a complimentary one was clearly out of the question. I had to enquire multiple times since my initial request did not receive a response. I was eventually offered a 20% discount off of the rack rate for the suite. And I said no -- that's not an upgrade. 4 - Reservations. I booked this holiday using points. It was less than straight forward, through no fault of the resort. These things happen. But the reservations team was semi-responsive at best. They also had ZERO suggested solutions for the issues that I was facing. Again, the issues were not with the resort -- they were more systemic issues surrounding the way that point redemptions work across Hilton brands. I spent a significant amount of time relaying messages between the hotel reservations team and Hilton customer support. I eventually got the issues resolved by working creatively with customer support. I expect the in-house reservations team to be more proactive, more creative, more responsive, more positive. They can work with the Hilton customer support team on my behalf -- this has been my experience in the past. Unfortunately, this was just not in the cards. So I'm nearing the end of this holiday and I have enjoyed my time at Zemi Beach House. I really love Anguilla and I plan to return. But I'm torn on whether I would spend my points again on this resort. I'm also not sure if I would spend my money on it, given the other interesting options on the island. This is a case of very good not being quite good enough. Frankly, if Zemi Beach House wants to be in the same league as other flagship Hilton resorts around the world, they have some work to do. The location is breath-taking. The facilities are amazing. The experience, particularly for Hilton loyalty program veterans, is lacking.…
My wife and I just returned from a weeks stay at Zemi and we can't say enough good things about it. From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out the service was outstanding. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming (too many names to mention). The property was very clean and well maintained. Chairs always available at both the beach and pools. Most days we ate breakfast and dinner on property and the food was always good with plenty of options to choose from. Overall a great stay. We'll be back.
