Hello Cip, We are delighted to hear how you are describing your stay here at our chalet. It helps in every way that our guests appreciate us. Our location is ineed child friendly as we had many families whom had children of all ages. We have installed also swings and a trampoline in the meantime all for the entertainment of the little ones! As described by you our location offers a wide range of activities and we can offer loads of fun! Thank you for everything! Have a nice day, Enisa Burtan

Just returned from Pastel Chalet. We spent a mini holiday with them, it was our first experience in Vama Buzaului and it was a great one. Apart from the last 4-5 km before arriving at PC which are not in a great condition (we've been informed about that) everything was perfect. The host and her colleagues did their best to please us. We're speaking about fine people eager to welcome you as if you are their friends. The food was great, made like at home not like in a restaurant. Accomodation was perfect, bed sheets changed after 2 nights (you can not find that very often somewhere else!), we've been constantly surrounded with big smiles... We couldn't enjoy snow...but it wasn't their fault :) In a few words - Pastel Chalet is a place to find and visit!

This is by far one of the best places one can visit in Romania - we were 2 families with 2 small kids and we all enjoyed our time there so much that we regret we didn't book a longer stay. The food is amazing, so authentic Romanian, the hosts very attentive, the rooms beautiful, the grounds well kept. Lots of activities for the children to keep them busy both indoors and outdoors; we loved the horse pulled cart trip to the forest, the trip to the waterfall, the river flowing behind the cottage, the greenery and tranquility all around, the rural landscape. The kids enjoyed painting, drawing, clay modelling, bike riding, running around...just what we wanted from a holiday with kids. Will be back next year for sure

I thought I had done my homework well before choosing the Pastel Chalet location, I read many reviews, I analyzed the pictures, I read the description of the location, I thought I covered everything. After a few hours road, with unpaved pieces, the expectations were high, it is worth the effort, we will have a dream location! Surprise - 5 star disappointment. My first thought was how to get out of here faster. I try to describe in several lines our experience (2 adults and a baby) maybe can help other parents not to go on a road for nothing. Yes, I found nature, greenery, but also a lot of dust rising from every passing car, so more like a dusty piece of heaven. A small, unpaved yard, therefore impossible to walk a bit with a stroller. A small play space, with the wooden structure of the swings that move at each balance. A tiny room (Caffe au lait), an equally small window, a non-existent shower space (only if you want to consider the whole bathroom a shower). It was clear that we did not even deserve to unpack. The host seemed initially hospitable to me, however her main concern was the financial part, not the exprrience and feedback of the clients. We lost our advance completely, without even a thought of some refund. To the question if we can serve at least lunch in the account of the advance, the answer was: well, so be it... Short to say, we have served the most expensive lunch so far, 2 adults 1000 lei. Certainly opinions are divided, this review is our experience with this so-called dusty corner of heaven.

Even we spent only 1 night at Pastel Chalet, I can say it was one of the greatest experiences from the last couple of trips I have made. The location...boutique hotel, so each room is different. Very nice decorations, like in fairy tails, comfortable beds, very clean everywhere. The staff was polite, discrete and helpful. The restaurant...wow, such a good food!!! You must try "Ciorba vamaseana cu leurda" and sheep pastrami...delicious! In the backyard there is a small playground for the kids, they have adults bicycles to ride (I tried one, great ride). In the interior there is a billiard table and also a ping-pong one. Vodafone signal is pretty poor (I don't know the rest), but I cannot complain...we where there to relax, not to stay on Facebook :) There is free wi-fi with good signal also in rooms. Must do...take a walk on the hills, visit Urlatoarele Cascade and Rezervatia de Zimbri, both being few kilometers away from the pension

An absolutely wonderful location, welcoming people, exemplary cleanliness but I would also point out some minuses The access road is not as good as we were informed on the phone. It's a paved road but lots of pits. Yes, it is not the Pastel Chalet's guilt, nor in their interest to mention that the road is bad, but it is also not ok for the customers not to know exactly. The image created before Pastel Chalet arrival was one in which nature is respected, a place where you come to relax and admire nature. However nature also means animals, not just landscapes. Unfortunately, animals do not seem to be respected and treated properly. There are tiny cages where there are rabbits, extremely small cages. No life should live like this. There were some dogs that seemed to be very sociable. Maybe not all clients are ok in the presence of dogs and they may have to be put somewhere further, but in any way I do not think they should be kept in chains. When choosing to take an animal into care, you have to assume that it offers a decent life, not tiny cages and chains ... even more in the context of respecting nature..

Pastel Chalet is situated amidst the most wonderful landscape of sweeping mixed woodland and pasture - a charming valley with well kept villages one way, mountainous wilderness up the track the other. For hikes long or short, mountain bike rides or horse treks it is perfect. Pastel Chalet itself has been finished to the very highest standards and it's simply a lovely place to pass time - very comfortable, well appointed. There's a sumptuous games room with pool table and large TV for evenings or inclement weather. The rooms are very comfortable. The food is no-nonsense Romanian fair, generously proportioned, especially breakfast and host Enisa couldn't do more - warm, helpful and just generally the essence of hospitable. Even the wine and beer is sensibly priced. A great place to recharge.

There are so many pluses as I do not know with which one should I start :-) The locations is from fairy tales... everything is green, fresh air, quiet zone, clean room and common areas, cozy furniture. The staff very friendly, helping us with every request and with a smile on the face. The most amazing experience was when our group had lunch in the forest, were they moved the tables, chairs, umbrellas, food was partially cooked there, with cold drinks in the nearby river... it was like 5stars or 50 stars service in the middle of the nature. Truly amazing!!! Thank you for this experience and I could not wait to visit you again!

Pastel Chalet is a holistic experience for the mind, body and soul. Amazing accommodation, a talented chef who cooks great fusion cuisine, local guides who can take you hiking or trekking around the Ciucas Mountains. The scenery is amazing, little phone signal which is great for switching off, but good wifi just in case you need to check those emails from work :). I totally recommend this place! Looking forward to coming back.
