A very small quiet retreat situated about a 10min drive from the centre of Byron bay, breakfast was small but very fresh and they also offer a voucher for a cafe in town if you decide not to have breakfast at the hotel. You are very much in the Forrest so you hear all sorts of wildlife throughout the night which didn't bother me but might if you're a light sleeper. Pool area was nice and clean. The only downside I would say is I felt it was a little on the expensive side.
My partner and I returned to this place for the second time in 6 months. We love it. The setting is in a tropical rainforest with Peacocks wandering the grounds, is quite lovely. Great to get out of the city and into a natural habitat which is only 5 mins fro Byron beach. The Management are attentive and very polite. The rooms more than adequate in size and appointments, nice spa in room, with no look-in from the neighbours. And the private balcony which adjoins the room is perfect for evening drinks or room service breakfast. Oh, and the resident Japanese masseuse, Eri, was outstanding! 10 out of 10 to Azuba for delivering a comfortable stay which more than meets one's expectation after reading the website features and benefits. We will go again, no question. Thanks to you and your team, TP.…
This place is lovely. A small but comfortable room in the middle of no where. It would've been perfect, except we weren't able to get any sleep for the 4 nights we were there. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything in the next room, the top of the windows not curtained and the peacocks (albeit not azabus fault) scream like banshees all night long. The peacocks were mating so louder than normal, but just be aware when you come, had we of known we would not have stayed here, coming for a relaxing time and being withheld sleep dampens the holiday a bit.
This was my second stay here at Azabu which should speak volumes!! This time I booked in for some wonderful spa treatments and was totally spoilt. Loved having my bath in my room. The surroundings are second to none in Byron for those wanting somewhere to retreat away from the crowds.
My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and were very impressed. We were met at the door by three peacocks leading up to the doorway which was authentically Japanese, and then made to feel welcome by the owner TP. We were shown to our room which was lovely. Nice n quiet location with a beautiful look out of the Japanese inspired gardens. Breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious. Very much a place for romance and only a short trip to town. Thank you to TP and Tamara for your hospitality. It was beautiful. Steve was also treated to a massage by Trish in the day spa which he thoroughly enjoyed. Regards Steve & Kel
