This hotel is in a wonderful location with outstanding views. Travellers should not miss these views down the valley as they are unforgettable. The hotel is very imposing with impressive public rooms, but the bedrooms, though large, are not well equipped and were freezing cold when we arrived. The bathroom had no towel rail or hooks and no place to...

I can confirm that everything you read about but beautiful this location is true. Actually, on second thought - the words are insufficient. What you read won't prepare you for what you will see. I only stayed here for 1 night as I wanted to treat myself as I was about to begin a 2 week solo road trip through...

We called here for coffee and cakes . The hotel would be a fabulous place to stay and good base for walking in the mountains. The terrace in front of the hotel is on the edge of a deep gorge/ valley with spectacular views. Below the hotel is the famous serpentine road with numerous hairpin bends passing two splendid waterfalls

We as a family on our Scandic trip stayed here for a night. You can get here from Voss via a bus which stops exactly at the hotel on request. Otherwise the hotel also arranges a pick up on request from the nearest bus stop in Stalheim. This is one of the legendary hotels and once you arrive you get...

We stopped here as part of a cruise tour and took the road with the seemingly endless switchbacks to the top of the mountain to the hotel - and had delicious coffee and pastries while admiring the most amazing view we've ever seen. Walk around the garden area and make sure you visit the German bunker that has a small...

We were doing the NiN tour and decided to stopover at Stalheim for a night. Such a lovely experience it turned out to be! The view from the hotel and our room was simply fantastic. Good service from the reception counter and restaurant too. The staff were also very responsive to our emails before we arrived. There are some simple...

This hotel is ugly from the outside, but beautiful from the inside, and has one of Norways best views. It sits high above the valley floor and gves you the feeling of being in the sky. It is close to the entrance of the Naeroyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The hotel has a lot of art and a heritage...

Simply extraordinary view from our windows. Make sure you book a room overlooking the "back" valley. A very nice hotel, but I still would have loved it if it was a pup tent. A once in a lifetime experience.

Our stay at the Stalheim Hotel was a unique and wonderful experience. It was almost like stepping back in time, and in this case that's not a bad thing. The hotel is reached by a rather steep winding road. You can see the hotel from a distance high on the hillside, so you know you're going up in a hurry....

My girlfriend and I rented a car in flam (flambilleie@gmail.com) and as a result were easily able to access this hotel. For those who do not want to rent a car, the NiN bus will stop at the hotel if you request the driver to do so (our driver asked if anyone was staying here). The only problem with relying...
