We’ve stayed two nights. This camp was our last stop before continuing to Zanzibar. The view is absolutely uatched by any of the other camps. The sundowner on top of the hill was even one of our hilights. The manager, Lazaro and his crew were very friendly and helpful. Great job! Unfortunately, we had to move to another room as there was an issue they could not solve. We had as well several problems with the new tent, too.
It's hard to find the words to describe what Shumata Camp is. Shumata was our Home for two days in february and we will never forget it. From the beginning of our arrival, warm welcome with cup of Tee we felt like at home. Throughout the camp you feel like you're in a movie. We came in Shumata Camp after our Safari in Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti...and this was the Highlight from our Safari, especially because of our guide Mr. Mokili Olesokoi. He has extended our Safari Trip in High Performance way, it was just amazing to hear everything what he had to show and say about this beautiful area in Arusha. My wife and I felt like we were in a National Geographic documentary with the best Guide ever. Mokili answered all of our questions and woke up our interest in nature even more. I strongly recommend Safari Tour with real naturalist and specialist Mr. Mokili I congratulate Shumata Camp for providing such a guide as Mokili. I have also to praise the food in Shumata, it was an unforgettable experience, and we salute to chief of Restaurant. You can't forget the people in this camp, starting with the supervisor and all the Service, they were just amazing. Above all, we would emphasize Simon, he made our stay in Shumata so special and we will never forget it. Thank you Simon once again. Because All of this reasons we highly recomend Shumata Camp and can not wait to come again. Thank you so much…
It is beautiful and peaceful. Every detail has been well thought out and so many clever details. The views are breathtaking. We enjoyed the fresh organic produce, furniture is locally made, it is environmentally friendly. Its a great place to go relax.
Very friendly staff, great rooms, (loved the "Outdoor" shower) lovely prepared meals, and great breakfast @ the morning Safaris. The organisied Trip to near Masai Camos are a mind opening experience. Offroad car is needed to get to the lodge, quit steep Road.
an excellent camp with beautiful tents in an amazing landscape with a nice view to mount Kilimanjaro and very kind staff. The tents are completly assembled with bathroom and toilet Some amimals came very close to the tents
Excellent location with view on Mt Kilimanjaro and over the land. Quick access to Amboseli park. Nice tents with separate brick-built bathroom attached incl open air shower. Extremely friendly and attentive staff, excellent food, too. Would absolutely stay there again.
Shu´mata camp was the perfect start of our holiday in Tanzania! Lovely tents, excellent food, great management, friendly staff and a wonderful view. We will never forget our first sundowner "with Kilimanjaro saying hello". Thanks a lot to Eric and the whole team!
Shu'Mata means "heaven, we were told, and that's a good description. We were there for one night and had the entire camp for us (a family of 4). The tents do not leave any wishes open; the view from the terrace of the tents or the main tent is spectacular. Sundowner on the hill: perfect 360 degrees view of Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru and the plain in between. Great food! Sleeping in a tent needs a bit of acclimatisation, the tarpaulin gets a bit noisy if it's windy outside. Spectacular sunrise over Kilimanjaro, if you get up early enough (see the pictures).
Luxury tented camp on a hillside with spectacular views of the conservation wilderness stretching out for miles below. Climb the hill behind and enjoy a drink at sundown. Highlight are the game drives. It's conservation area not a game park so jeeps can go off road and put you right next to the elephants. Also there are no other jeeps so everything you find is just for you. Ask for Calvin as your guide. Enthusiastic and very knowledgeable young man, you can talk politics as well as wild life. Only 2 negatives - the electricity in the communal area where there was wifi, went off around 8pm just when we wanted to update photos and e mails after dinner and there were hordes of wasps in our outdoor bathroom from the adjacent bushes.
An absolutly fantastic stay in the Suh’mata Camp. Wonderful people, a fantastic view and very special tent sites with view to the Kilimanjaro. We spent three wonderful days here with activities and relaxing. The wildlife around the camp is great. We’ll come again - thank you!!
