This was my 2nd visit to Apeiros Chora and like the first one it was as amazing as the 1st one. The guest house is an old family home combining traditional architecture and materials with modern amenities. It has been restored by the owners with an aesthetic sensitivity and elegance that respects and honors tradition while providing modern-day amenities. The guest service is impeccable, unobtrusive, intimate and flexible. The owners, Athina and Giorgos, have created a setting that is inviting, relaxed and focused on meeting the guests' preferences and desires. The guest house is located in a beautiful mountainous part of Greece that provides plenty of summer and winter outdoor activities (hiking in the famous Vikos gorge and many other locations, river trekking, kayaking, canyoning, rock climbing, swimming...). The house is so inviting that is also ideal for just staying put to relax, read, and enjoy the vistas. While Greece is famous for its islands, once you experience a stay at Apeiros Chora you'll be drawn to come back for more as I plan to myself again in the future.…

We spent 4 unforgettable days, including New Years Eve, in Apeiros Chora together with our friends, having practically booked the entire property. This was the third time to be there and certainly not the last. The location at Kato Pedina was excellent with easy access to all Zagori villages and the majestic nature. Athina and George proved the fundamental elements of hospitality and delivered once again a first class experience in a spontaneous ,yet meticulous way. The beautifully restored family house ,perfectly decorated with style by Athina, offered all comforts and amenities of a 5-star lodging. Rooms were very comfortable,clean ,yet different. Special accolade to mention was the breakfast experience served in the nicely set kitchen which included a generous variety of home made jams, breads, pies , pastries, not to mention freshly squashed oranges and brewed coffees. George's vast historic knowledge of this beautiful area provided us useful tips for travels ,activities ,always eager to help. Not to mention the interesting conversations we had sitting around the fireplace in the company of home made tsipouro. Our exceptional experience was complimented by a truly gourmet New Year Eve dinner, cooked by a decorated chef. “Philoxenia” is a Greek word translating to “friend to the stranger,” and the Apeiros Chora staff embodies that phrase. The true “philoxenia” experience is fundamentally linked to feelings of familiarity, comfort, relaxation and happiness. All these were proven by Athina and George. Apeiros Chora, a lovingly and painstakingly restored centuries-old mansion, is not just an excellent base from which to explore this stunningly beautiful part of Greece - it is so much more. It is a labor of love. Pride of ownership is evident in every aspect. It’s been said the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, but those parts are certainly not to be frowned upon: amenities you would expect from a 5-star accommodation and then some, a scrumptious breakfast with something different every day, a lovely and caring team, and most importantly one half of its driving force, Giorgos (hope to meet you next time Athina!). Affable, gregarious, and an excellent conversationalist on a plethora of subjects, especially of his beloved Zagori, he welcomes you into his home with open arms (btw, all your tips on the area were spot on! The hotel is definitely a 5* from all points of view. Clean, very spacious rooms, refurbished with style and full of antique items and furniture selected with lots of taste. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always with a smile. It is located in a very nice area surrounded by green, very peaceful and definitely what we needed in order to rest, and we did:) But the most important factor in making this a very memorable holiday is, George, the owner. One of the most interesting persons we ever met and we became very good friends. Thanks to his vast knowledge of the region and many more things, all the areas he suggested for us to visit were most interesting. Let alone the restaurants where we had excellent food and service. Wherever we mentioned his name we received excellent treatment as he is very highly respected. And we will definitely return soon. My husband and I have just returned from a trip to Greece including three marvelous days in the beautiful Zagori region. I had read so many wonderful reviews about Apeiros Chora and yet it still managed to exceed all our expectations, both in terms of comfort and amenities and the warmth and friendliness we experienced as guests. Thank you George and Athina for welcoming us into your truly beautiful home and ensuring that we would have a most memorable experience of the Zagori with all the help and information you provided us with. Here are some of the things that we loved most about Apeiros Chora: - The heritage of the 19th century Zagori mansion, beautifully restored to retain its original charm. - The proprietors, warm and welcoming hosts who are passionate about sharing their love of the Zagori region. - The location, in the heart of the Zagorochoria known for its small stone villages and alpine beauty. - The amenities, including comfortable rooms, a delicious breakfast, and many others that we didn't have the time to try (like the sauna and spa).

Indeed the 46 Zagori villages network, another name Zagorochoria, urges for a minimum stay of 3/4 nights for anyone visiting the area for the first time. Alternatively, a 2-night stay is packed and rather tiring for any traveler and, therefore, that option should be preferred solely when the holiday time is limited.

Just superb! Flabbergasted! The hotel is just perfect in every detail: decoration , finesse, comfort, excellent service! You feel you are guests at friends house with the warmth of the hosts. After visiting the area of Zagorochoria for the 6th time, it is the first time I can say that this is a place I will definitely go back to. The main reason is that this lovely family that runs this establishment makes you feel like you are their guest. The warm personality of Athina and Giorgos in combination with the finesse of the rooms and the common areas make the experience memorable. The breakfast is really fresh and authentic with excellent fresh local ingredients and the quality of the mattress, the towels and the pillows is great! It only took three nights to regret for not booking a week at this unique hotel. But it's not a hotel. It's your grandparents country house or your great uncle's country house; the warm welcome and hospitality during the entire stay makes you feel at home. George and Athena's fantastic mansion is a an architectural gem, a traditional building of Zagori region. A 200 years history runs in this house and George narrates as he takes you from room to room, through mystical corridors and stairs to secret passages into your own suite. Old family furniture blend harmonically with modern comfortable beds and sofas and beautiful bathrooms. The gold balance between luxury and simplicity is achieved by Athena (an interior designer and stylist). And in the morning breakfast is served at the terrace (in summertime), a selection of homemade jams, local pies and pastries and fresh juice. George will provide you with all necessary information on the area, where to dine and what to visit and even book a rafting trip down Voidomatis river. We shall return as everyone return back home.
