Eriyadu was amazing, we had read many reviews and the most appealing to us was the fact that it was not a highly developed resort and was left in its natural beauty. The room we had was one of the best views and location with beautiful sea view (room 305) Our cleaner Abier was great and always on hand to get us anything we needed so chatty and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The food was good and plenty of choice always fresh fish or noodles being cooked in the evening and fresh omelettes in the morning, all the staff were helpful and always spoke to us. We did kayaking and dolphin trip which was great. We didn’t have the best of weather due to it being the end of the rainy season however it was still a wonderful holiday and would go back tomorrow. I never fancied a built up island and anyone wanting natural beauty should consider this a top island to visit. We were AI and didn’t spend anything else whilst on the island. There is only 1 shop on the island which sold souvenirs so if you wanted any goodies whilst you were away you need to take them with you also would advise taking first aid kit in case of any coral cuts or anything as there is nowhere to buy these things on site.
We always went to the end of the jetty every evening where you see thousands of fish, there is themed evening in the bar every evening and would recommend this place to anyone, I did hear that Eriyadu is going to shut soon and water villas added to the island which will take away its rustic original feel which would be a great shame.

Just come back from Eriyadu and having never been to the Maldives before we were thrilled to experience something new every day. The wildlife is amazing, the fruit bats, the herons, other exotic sounding birds, the hermit crabs, the lizards and the enormous ants were all fascinating but obviously the sea-life is something else. We swam with Eagle rays, tipped reef sharks and turtles and so many beautiful tropical fish that I couldn't begin to name. Large nurse sharks live there too and dolphins are present- all harmless but breath-taking to see in the wild. Snorkelling really is the number 1 activity here, and exploring the endless reef and eyeing the drop-off with it's threat of larger less benign sea-life is enough to keep a middle-aged couple like us feeling very much alive. The dive centre has all necessary equipment for this but we took our own prescription masks as we didn't want to miss a thing. They will also provide paddle boards and kayaks - some with clear bottoms- and Padi scuba courses if you want them. They also took us out to another reef 20 mins away to check out the turtles there for a fee, but lots of people we met saw turtles in the house reef for free.
The staff at Eriyadu are lovely and smiley, and very attentive. Sometimes they can have a tendency to quiz you on why you haven't been at breakfast for the last two days, (having a lie-in!) or why you didn't want your room making up yesterday? - (having another lie-in!) but our cleaner was happy to come back later on when we asked. The rooms are a bit shabby, the edges of the laminate flooring were curling up from repeated wet footprints I guess, and the wooden furniture was scuffed and tatty, but the bed was huge and comfortable, the air-con effective and the bathrooms were fairly modern and very clean, and really that's all that matters on a holiday where you spend most time outside. The bathroom has twin sinks, a bath and two showers - one underneath a hole in the ceiling which meant that we got to shower in the warm tropical rain when we had a storm, and on another dryer day, the tree above us was alive with fruitbats. Pretty magical. The buffet restaurant had a really good selection of dishes, my husband ate dahl for every meal (thank God we were outside mostly) but there was cereal, toast, very fluffy omelettes, cooked breaky items, croissants, and tons more at breakfast, main meals offering fried chicken, soup, salads, chow mein, stroganoff, and more curries. The deserts were interesting and plenty of fresh fruit was provided, their apples in lemon or cinnamon water were delish, and whilst some dishes were not covered, there were hardly any flies present and the salads caused no problems for anyone. The kitchen staff were constantly refreshing the containers and I was really impressed by the waiters' efforts to make us comfortable and satisfied. You must bear in mind that being a muslim country they will not provide any pork dishes, bacon, pork sausages etc, and whilst we partied in the bar with some overtly lesbian couples, there is still a certain amount of sexist stereotyping displayed inadvertently - giving my beer to hubby darling and his wine to me etc. On the other hand, there were several examples of a lack of respect for their culture shown by some guests, who weren't always shy about sunbathing topless or wearing revealing clothing to dinner as though it were some place in the Med. However, the worst offenders were the Russians who of course never smile, as it's not common in their culture, and could at times be very rude to the wait staff. Even on a shared boat trip we struggled to connect with them and afterwards it was if we didn't exist. They seemed sometimes to only be there for the selfie opportunities, and I found them uncomfortable to be around with the current situation in Ukraine. By the time we left, their number had become the majority and on a small island with no chance of escape it became my only complaint.
Maybe some of the niggles in reviews below have been responded to as we found no problem having drinks next to the pool, or taking it back to our room. We saw others bring back drinks from the Turtle bar to their sunbeds outside their rooms and we felt lucky that whilst all of the channels on the room's TV (other than Al Jazeera) were not understood by us, two football matches that we were interested in watching were actually shown, so we brought wine back to drink whilst watching. The shop is ridiculously expensive, I was tempted my a lovely little shell bowl until I realised it was $400. Friends said they paid over £30 for a forgotten bottle of suncream. So make sure to bring the essentials, which IMO are, 2 or 3 swimsuits, snorkelling equipment if you want your own, sunscreen, toiletries and casual hot-weather clothing. I went everywhere bare foot, only worrying about treading on hermit crabs and there is no point in dressing up for dinner with the sandy floor and heat. Swim shoes are helpful if not wearing flippers as the coral can be really sharp.

Beautiful place to relax and reset Your mind. Small island with a coral reef around - there was a lot of sea animals, incl. Sharks. Very good food, great trips (especially night snorkeling). We had the all-in option, so we could rent snorkeling equipment and a kayak for free. Hotel staff at the highest level. You have a person assigned to the house you rent who cleans the room regularly and will help you with everything you need - we had the pleasure of meeting MONOWAR, who was irreplaceable!
Renovation works are currently taking place on the island, which do not disturb your relaxation. I highly recommend this place!

We spent a week with the children and grandparents, they had assigned us two rooms in a stretch without a beach but after our request they moved us to two other rooms. The rooms can also be accessed from the bathroom, and it is very convenient because it allows you to shower after snorkeling. However, I missed the tub to rinse my feet at the main entrance. Simple but functional rooms, cleaned twice a day, towels changed on request (even daily), the sunbeds on the beach are a little dated.
The food is mainly Asian, but you can always find something that is not spicy or spicy. In the last two days, fresh fruit has been partly replaced by fruit in syrup (or not...). Pasta is also occasionally present, which the children appreciated. We had the soft all inclusive which included wine and beer with meals, as well as several cocktails and various juices at the main bar. The rental of snorkeling equipment and 60 minutes of canoeing per day were included.
Reef very close and with a good variety of fish, finally on my fifth time in the Maldives I also spotted turtles!
In front of our rooms in this period there was a beautiful stretch of sand, but in other parts of the island it was completely absent. The situation also changes depending on the winds and currents, however in my opinion the best arranged rooms are from 212 to 220 and from 250 to 255. It's a shame about the weather which didn't allow us to appreciate the beauty of the island 100%! !

I travelled as a solo traveller in room 228 between 3rd September and 11th September 2024. I was on an all inclusive package. The resort is 45 minutes by speedboat from Mali airport.
Pre-arrival: Excellent experience: Staff very friendly, full of knowledge and very accurate with my reservation.
Check in: Excellent experience: Everything was excellent.
Staff: Excellent experience: I could not speak highly enough of all your staff. I was treated with respect, kindness with a smile on their faces. Everyone was brilliant.
My room: Excellent experience: was very nice, good location, beautiful location leading to the beautiful beach. The room had a large fridge which contained only 2 bottles of water. As an all inclusive customer I feel that this could be improved. The fridge should contain cans of coke, fanta, bitter lemon, sprite, beer, spirits and mixers. These should be free of charge as they are all free at the bars throughout the resort. A broom would have been useful to quickly remove any sand that was on the steps/patio. This would then stop the accidental spread of the sand into the room. There was no cleaning facility at the front door, hence, when you entered the room you took sand through your room to get to the rear tap. A simple remedy for this would be to install a water tap next to the front door similar to the rear steps. The television was a very nice touch, however, there are no operating instruction so this lovely addition was unable to be used. There was information regarding the tv, bars, telephone etc. I think a folder with the basic information including the bar information and trips would be very useful. My room was approximately 20 meters from the beach bar, 100 from the main bar, 120 meters from the restaurant, 120 meters from the reception and 150 meters from the water sports office. There were free glass bottoms kayaks, paddle boards and snorkels.
Dining: Excellent experience: I never went to breakfast so these comments are for the lunch and evening meals. The food was tasty. The food was a bit repetitive, however, there was always a rice, a noodle, chicken, beef, fish and curry dishes plus salad desserts and fresh fruit. The curries were excellent.
Bar : Excellent experience: Your regular staff were brilliant: They always had time to talk, smile and entertain me. WELL DONE. The drinks were always very good.
Beach: The island is small and I could walk around it in 20 minutes. The beach had beautiful golden sand which lead to the warm beautiful sea. There was an abundance of fish within 20 meters of the beach: I swam with reef sharks up to 2 meters long, manta rays, turtles and numerous fish. It was like swimming in an aquarium !
In conclusion I had a brilliant time at your beautiful resort.
I would definitely return

We were on this island in early December and.... we miss it so much, it will remain a beautiful memory: simple island, small, with thick vegetation and well-kept mto, beautiful, with flying foxes, marshes of all kinds, fascinating lizards, birds that keep company. The beach around the island is fine white sand, the reef is close and very very beautiful, full of colorful fish of all kinds, turtles, sharks, manta rays, rays and even dolphins we have seen. The restaurant is buffet style and has a lot of choice and always different. The rooms are little houses on the beach, with patio and personal chairs, large rooms with a nice bathroom with shower, bathtub, double sink, all beautiful. There are also some rooms in a first floor structure, but that I do not recommend because the beauty is just living in contact with nature, nor does it really deserve the extra price. I recommend all inclusive, you have masks and fins, drinks, water in the room.... Very relaxing, simple, beautiful. It's all right. Only we miss it already.... thanks for everything to all, they are really all kind and helpful. I highly recommend.

This is the best value for money among the 1 island 1 resorts in the Maldives. This is my second visit after 6 years.
After comparing various options, I booked the cheapest half board (2 meals included) for 3 nights at 43,000 yen (about 300 US dollars).
The Sky & Sea View Room is a 2-storey tenement house with a total of 16 rooms. I stayed in a room on the 2nd floor, but the sea was visible from the balcony and it was clean and comfortable. The building was built around 2016, so it may be better because it is newer than the cottages.

The transfer from the airport was also smooth. I arrived at the airport at 10:00, went outside to take photos and wandered around a bit, then checked in at the hotel counter, waited a little, and the boat departed at 10:40. It seems that the person who was supposed to accompany me did not show up, so it was a private transfer for me.
I arrived at the resort at 11:20, and when I checked in, I was told that I would be able to get my room around 13:30. But I was guided to my room at 12:30.
The air conditioner worked well and the fan was on, so it was perfect. The bath only had a shower and was weak, but the hot water was good. Only shampoo/body soap and conditioner are provided.

The beach is as beautiful as ever and the resort is well maintained, so it was just as comfortable a stay as last time.

Breakfast and dinner were both delicious.

Cocktails at the bar were about $7 plus 26% tax and service charge.

I stayed with friends at this Resort and what about... it was a fantastic experience! The atoll is small compared to others that are immense, it has both rooms and Beach Villa. Our cottage was nice big, clean with Maldivian bathroom (two sinks, toilet, and indoor tub and an open-air shower). Bath and sea towels are changed every day. The house is cleaned every day even twice a day. Every day in the room they leave a 1.5lt bottle of water per person. The minibar is complete with soft drinks and cold water. There is a kettle with which you can prepare coffee or tea. The restaurant is buffet style and offers really good dishes (obviously if you are Italian and you plan to go abroad to eat a plate of pasta then Recommendation to stay at home). The staff is all very nice and helpful. As for the sea and the beach there are no words, it is truly an earthly paradise. The coral reef is beautiful, you can see turtles, endless sharks, and various types of super colorful fish. The Wi-Fi is present in the common areas and in the room but it is actually a bit slow, although of little importance to me given the need to relax. Excellent quality/price!

We`ve just returned from an amazing 10 day stay on Eriyadu, yes the rooms could do with a refresh as are rather tatty as everybody says, but look past this and the island is great value for money, the staff are really friendly and helpful, special shout outs to the beach bar and restaurant staff, my wife is Vegan and the head chef made sure each meal time that she knew what was ok to eat if she was unsure of anything and supplying a top of of vegetables and potatoes if they were unsuitable from the main servery, she didn`t struggle once during our stay with food options, thank you guys!
As I said the rooms are tired but kept immaculately clean, again thanks to the room guy for keeping our room lovely, 20 steps from our room and we were on the beach, what an amazing setting, we went snorkelling every day and the reef just off shore is superb with an abundance of fish, you felt like you spotted a new variety every time you went out, and if your lucky you will see the turtles, we swam with them on 4 occasions, absolutely magical, and not forgetting the sharks, scary at first when you see them, but like everything, it become normal!
We enjoyed a couple of massages at the spa, again great service and incredible value for money, thank you ladies, we really enjoyed them.
There`s far too much to mention about this island in a review, but in a nutshell, would we go again, yes in a heartbeat and hope to do so next year.
Thank you everyone on Eriyadu for making our stay special.

If the title has caught your eye, please read on.
We had an absolutely fantastic holiday at this amazing place. From collection at the airport, speedboat ride in and 2 weeks on the island.
All of the staff from reception, gardeners room cleaners, bar staff and restaurant staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Rooms were spacious and cleaned (twice a day) yes furniture a little worn, but how much time do you spend in the room.
The restaurant had a wide selection of foods every day, there was something for everyone. If i was really picky, food could have been a bit warmer.
Games room (darts,T tennis and pool) small a/c gym a a dive school on site. Not a lot to do for children.
Blitz bar in the evening had some entertaiment, kareoke, quiz, disco, solo and duo artists on.
There were several guests here that had returned several times, so thats a good sign.
Rummours are that the resort is going to be renovated next year, so place will be even better, although prices may rise also.
IF you have read bad reviews, take them with a pinch of salt, this resort is very good value for money

Response from Rm Eriyadu, General Manager at Eriyadu Island Resort
Responded Jul 22, 2024
Dear Keb1993, Your detailed feedback truly brought a smile to our faces. It's heartening to hear that you had an amazing holiday at our resort Eriyadu . Your compliments regarding our staff, from the reception to the restaurant, are greatly appreciated. Ensuring our guests feel welcome and well-cared for is our top priority. Furthermore, it's great to hear that our spacious rooms, frequent cleaning, and varied food selection contributed to your memorable stay. Acknowledging your observation about the food temperature and the limited activities for children, we continually strive to improve our services and offerings. The entertainment at Blitz bar seems to have been a hit! We're glad you enjoyed the array of activities. With regard to the rumors about renovation, we believe that continual improvement is key to providing our guests with an exceptional experience. Overjoyed to know that you see the value in what we offer, and your advice to future guests to take negative reviews with a grain of salt is deeply appreciated. We hope to welcome you back soon to Hotel Eriyadu Island Resort. Best Regards. Abdul Salah Hassan Resort Manager

Hi, I was staying in Eriyadu 2 weeks ago and had an amazing time. I didn't notice any construction work to the rooms but there was construction work happening on the pier. This didn't affect our time there as we couldn't hear the noise from the side of the island where our room was, but we did notice it when we were eating in the restaurant. I didn't notice any noise from water sports at all during our stay. We had a wonderful time snorkeling around the whole island with all the beautiful fish, reef sharks and turtles! I hope that's helpful.
