This hotel is very good in comparison to other hotels in the Islands around. Nice room with a seaview (top floor). And very clean. The AC worked Nicely as well. I do not reccomend the restaurant called the kettle next door though.
Hotel close to the bikini beach, big rooms, Aircon, fridge, western standard bathrooms; staff is incredibly nice, they helped me organising a solo snorkel trip, which was amazing; they have a little restaurant, the Kettle, with good food at good price (they also serve buffet breakfast there; it was fine, not a lot of choice but fine), seats on the beach to chill and relax; special thanks to Ebrahim, very kind all time
Rashu Hiya is a clean nice place. The rooms are spacious and clean and the washrooms were very nice and clean. Only issue with washrooms was that they do not provide any toiletries but do provide two soap bottles in shower - cant say which one was a shampoo and which one was body wash as these are not marked and come off the wall very easily so handle with care. Overall the property is very clean and nice and tidy, staff is cheerful and helpful. Now the problems - 1. No direct beach access - They do not have any beach access although its located right at the beach but that part of beach is either blocked with sandbags to support the platform where there are tables for their restaurant or a very narrow part which leads to water which is riddled with stones and sea weeds and other garbage. So if you would like to relax on the beach you have to walk up to the beach on south of the island which is a short distance and then ask them to bring you a recliner to be placed there. Booking.com shows this as beach front where its is not. 2. Restaurant & Food - They have a very nice and clean restaurant right next to their building. However, the food is pathetic. Something as simple as fried eggs are burned and rubber like on the bottom and uncooked with running whites on the top. So we had one lunch there and two breakfasts and went in search of some decent food in other places. 3. Boat Prices - When they confirmed the booking they emailed and quoted the speed boat ride from Male to hotel at $250. Later when I confirmed they raised the price to $350 saying they made a mistake in their email but then confirmed on messages on booking.com to $250 again. Once we were their, we were told that the speedboat ride back is now $350. I don't mind a $100 increase but what I do mind a lot is going back on your agreement and word specially when the guest is locked on the island and has to get back. The hotel needs to ensure that it stays on its word and not go back on it.…
Rashu Hiyaa is probably one of the best restaurants on the island in terms of food and service. Staff is friendly, kind and speaks “some” English. Food is good and the variety is sufficient considering that it’s a distant island where nothing grows and literally everything is delivered from bigger islands or the continent. Hookah is not recommended to order though, they use cheap coal that burns in minutes. Prices are similar to Cafe 420 and are higher than they are in cafe’s where locals eat, but the prices are reasonable and $9 for grilled chicken or tuna steak is nothing for such a beautiful place.
We really enjoyed our stay at Rashu Hiya. The room is nice and cozy. Great excursions and friendly staff with awesome services! The manager, Rakesh, went above and beyond his duties to make our stay more comfortable. Also, all the restaurant staff and specially Ibrahim were always helpful, giving us different choices when this was required, and with a smile in their faces. :) Furthermore, there are beautiful beaches in Dhiffushi. Highly recommended hotel! Thanks to all!
