We booked a beach villa for our 10th Wedding Anniversary and I must say It was worth It. View from the beach villa is gorgeous.. The overall experience is extraordinary. The Villa was huge with all facilities. It has a decent sized bed room. Bathroom is fab equipped with bath tub. The villas open to the mighty Indian Ocean and one can simply go for snorkelling. However I would advise you to get your own snorkelling gear as the resort is not providing the gear free. They are charging approx 13$ for 24 Hours. Hospitality was excellent in terms of room service, reception and guidance for anything anywhere in the island.. Some suggestions: There few points I would like to bring in notice of the resort. You need to improve you room toiletry kits.. nowadays all the resorts provide basic amenities in the room which was missing in the resort.. there were only shower gel, shampoo and body lotion which was also not good.. no shaving kit... I think these are basic things a guest expects in a good resort.

Minneapolis, Minnesota3 contributions
For context, we stayed there a week (Saturday to Saturday) and traveled with a group of friends, all of whom had different levels of experience with all-inclusive resorts. We did a full board (all meals) and not all-inclusive. I'm not sure how all-inclusive might differ with the exception of alcohol. For additional context, we are based in the US in Minneapolis. We were some of the only Americans there from what we could tell. We are very well-traveled internationally and have a lot of experience with 4-5 star hotels so this might bias our opinion. We also travel a lot and stay in AirBnBs and never opt for the fancy ones. This was a very expensive trip for us, something we might do only once. This review is written in that lens. Pros: -Great view, sitting on the beach it's easy to forget about some of the significant drawbacks on the property. The weather seems to be beautiful all the time in February and there is so much sun it's easy to get burned if you don't re-up on sunscreen. Beautiful sunsets from almost any direction, very easy to see the moon at night, excellent view of the stars. -Absolutely crystal clear water, which makes for good snorkeling around the resort. -Some staff are very friendly as sweet. The two that stand out are the gentleman that makes the hot desert items for guests (pancakes, chocolate dumplings) and one of the waiters in the a la carte/bar section (I think his name is Muthau, I'm probably butchering the spelling). They were very kind and nice to talk with. -Vegetarian food options (their special curry in the Sand Bar is excellent, the french fries in the Sand Bar are amazing and I'm still not sure why) -A la carte food options for when you get sick of the buffet (you will if you're there for as long as we were). Alcohol and bottled water were significantly less expensive than at home (Minneapolis, MN). -Snorkeling excursion outside the resort was great -Spa was excellent (Balinese and Kayu massages were unique) -A small load of laundry service is free -Cold towel and drink upon arrival -No mosquitos on the island that I noticed -Good selection of things you forgot to bring or ran out of available in the shop. Prices are typical for a resort ($21 for a sunscreen that at home would be $5-6). The guy who runs the shop is very friendly and nice to talk to about things. Cons: -Overall it really, really feels like a 3-star and not a 4-star resort. Maybe 3.5. -They do not recycle and appear to dump septic waste in the ocean (we saw this because we were out at night). I'm not sure if these are common practices but given the international concern about the Maldives disappearing from climate change, this seemed particularly odd. -The rooms are old and feel a bit cobbled together with newer repairs. I'm not sure how easy it is to maintain the water villas given the location and exposure to saltwater. As an example, the showers created pools of water across the very large bathrooms. -The management staff required significant prodding to make any accommodations or refunds for elements that were not acceptable. Examples include leaking ACs, rigid rules about the buffet (you can only eat dinner from 730pm - 9pm and they get in your face if you start at 7:28pm). They have a disco night which is cool, but it sends intense vibrations through the water villas (and maybe the beach villas but we did not stay there). -If you are not paying in Maldivian rufiyaa then everything is in USD. The official bank in the Maldives will only accept new, clean USD bills, according to management, so they'll only take that. -Food gets repetitive (we were there for a long time) and the a la carte food is very basic (think overnight menu at a 3-star hotel) but it is at times better than the buffet. -Bring your own toiletries, theirs are sparsely provided and a bit weird. We don't care about fancy shampoo or the like, but if you do it's an absolute must to bring your own.

I spent seven nights in Thulhagiri. 5 nights in a beach bungalow and 2 nights in a water villa. Both accomodations were good. PROS good reef, on top the corals are extensively bleached, but that is the same everywhere in the Maldives now. Nevertheless the underwater fauna is good both in terms of biodiversity and numbers. The beach is big and fabulous, very quiet. The resort itself is perfect for those who seek isolation and peace. There are no entertainments aside from minor things every now and then after dinner. We chose the all inclusive formula and i recommend it the spa is great, expensive but worthwhile. I had three massages and they were all great! CONS the excursions that they propose are the downside. We did them all. The hop off to 3 islands was very disappointing. The first one of local poeple was nice but afterwards they took us to two 5 stars resorts.... maybe some type of tourists enjoy it but we definitely did not! I don't go on Holiday to visit other resorts with such short visit time that there was not even the chance for snorkeling. the snorkeling trip was to a spot that was nice but not better than the reef around the resort. the dolphin tour ...well we have not been lucky and haven't seen them by the way it's not a sunset tour since you are back to the hotel before sunset.... I hoped that at least they would have let us see the sunset from the sea.

For the third time we come to this beautiful island during the wintertime. The weather is great, the snorkelling and water sports activities are super and the people are very kind and warm. Every year it feels like coming home.
