Simply nothing at all we could wish to be changed in any way - a perfect paradise with the nicest team you can think of and being at your disposal at any time. We stayed in a new beach suite with pool (164) with a fantastic bathroom. The room boy is an artist who created great plant and flower pictures on our bed in the evenings . The restaurant serves a great choice of excellent and just cooked in front of you food every day with so friendly waiters (special thanks to Ali). The atmosphere at the tables right on the beach in the sand is unbeatable. The team of the cooks creates real miracles. The diving team is fantastic, showing you the nicest dive spots and trying to fulfill every divers wishes. We felt like on a private dive spot with excellent dive masters in the most wonderful channels and tilas you can find. Thank you all very much for your great care and perfect organisation with so much fun and friendship. A special thank you to our great friend Ateef, the most amaising dive master with several x 1‘000 dives! As during previous stays already our holiday on Lily was again top top top. A big thank you to all the team, also the many helpful people behind the sceens. You all made our 1001 Nights feelings become true again. Thank you dear Shanu for your so friendly and great help for whatever we bothered you with. We already are looking forward to seeing you again next year. …
Our 14 night stay at the amazing Lily Beach Resort and Spa comes to an end today. We have stayed in many resorts across the atolls of the Maldives - but Lily Beach is the best. The staff make you feel at home and go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. The sunset water suites are phenomenal with sunset views a plenty and snorkelling with sharks, eagle rays and squid a plenty. Both room boys over our trip took great care of the room and were really attentive. Our beach butler Faisal made our trip. He took incredible care to ensure we had an amazing time and looked after my mother so well! Each day was memorable with lovely table decorations and little touches of details to make memories. Even getting us his volleyball team shirts so we could support. (Good look for the final Team Block!). We think of Faisal as part of the family now. The Head chef Olivier, also went the extra mile adapting menus to accommodate my allergies - wonderful food everywhere from Aqva lunches, Lily Mae breakfast, Tamarind and special meals too! My mother enjoyed talking with Olivier in French (having been a French teacher for many years). Nothing was too much trouble - a lovely man. Diving with pro-dive school was great. Every member Ed, Charl, Atheef and Lauri made each dive amazing - saw lots including various sharks, manta, whale shark as well as lots of little shrimps, nudibranch etc. Boat crew were also fab! We visited the Spa twice, again great service, really relaxing and wonderful ambiance. Perhaps due to my coconut allergy the Spa could explore other oils so that there are more options for treatments for people like me. That being said the lotion was fine. We had the opportunity to do a wine and dine meal with a visiting wine merchant from Croatia which was fascinating and were joined by staff including the manager Lorenzo. He is a genuinely exceptional manager who cares about the services provided. He also has exceptionally good relationships with the staff. He explained his plans for Lily Beach and explained about the dedicated lounge at the sea plane terminal which is not yet available due to the opening of the new terminal. Thanks for spending time with my mum and I Lorenzo! We hope to come back to Lily Beach Resort and Spa next August 2023 perhaps with other members of the family - fingers crossed Faisal can be our butler once again - we cannot wait and have already contacted our travel agent. Thanks to everyone at Lily Beach - our new home away from home - truly amazing 5 star ⭐️…
We went last year in this hotel and our experience was the complete opposite of what we lived in 2016 (you can see my previous comment I have posted 7 years ago, we just loved our experience). If you are into luxury hotels then avoid the lily as luxury is utterly nonexistent in all aspect of you experience at this hotel. The food is bad. Seafood buffer was really disappointing shrimps were mushy and soggy, the industrial mayonnaise was disgusting, so sad for a restaurant next to the sea. Quality is poor and execution as poor. Also when having breakfast by the sea be prepared to have your nose full of smoke exhaust from the polluting boats. It was at times unbearable. Villas are dated (not been refreshed since we last came in 2016 and it was was already not super fresh…) outdoor furnitures are cheap. Be prepared to waste 2 full days on the way in and out of the hotel. As it is reached by seaplane and they don’t seem to have a lot of negotiating power with providers. On the way in you can expect to wait 2 to 4 hours at the airport in their so called lounge where you are just inside a freezing cold room when it is sunny outside (other hotels had at least outdoor terrace by the pier with service). When you ask when you will be able to leave no-one knows… And then you can add 1 hour or 2 for the transportation itself, between the horrible minivan to get you to the boarding room then the walk to the plane then the plane does not land at the hotel but you have then to take a boat…). On the way back we had our international plane at 11pm and asked numerous time to organize a late plane but up until our day of departure no-one could tell us when will be our plane (which is annoying) and on D-Day we were told that we were to leave around 2PM and had then to wait from 2PM to 11PM at the airport in the « lounge »… and they seemed surprised when we told them we were very unhappy. The staff was so unhelpful and didn’t seem to care … tours are the only reason you could still consider the lily but here it was a complete disaster as well. Just like the arrival and departure the organization was catastrophic and the staff unhelpful. On several occasions we came to the meeting point for tours we had booked but no-one had our booking and we were told we could not do the tour as we were not on the list. Once, the boat left without us. All this despite the numerous emails with reception to book the tours in advance in order to avoid being told they were full. Which we were told on several occasion and therefore had to book more expensive private tours. And even then the boat arrived 2hours late… The quality of the tours is also poor due to the poor service of the staff on board. They don’t do a lot of efforts to please you and to help you get good pictures or anything. They barely speak English so communication is complicated and they sometime come off as rude (probably due the langage barrier, language barrier we didn’t encountered in other hotel in the Maldives though). They drink water but don’t offer you some … they just don’t try We spoke with management during our stay and contacted them in order to complain when we came back home, and let them know what our experience looked like..and basically, the answer was that everything is perfect at Lily, that some villas have been refurbished (it was not our case and we paid the full price).. that everything seems to exist in theory but the reality is far from that at Lilly.. the top management considered that the service they provided to us was just the regular service that clients should have in Lily and we should be more than happy with a refund of 3% of the amount we paid!! I decided to give 2 star instead of one because of the kindness of the guide we had during the private tour we had, he was I think, the only person in all the staff who still wanted to make the customers happy (him and the housekeepers). He didn’t even speak English, but we could see that he really tried his best and made the extra mile for us to be happy. The other reason is that, despite of the bleaching (on this one Lily is not to blame), the reef remains impressive. We appreciated as well the early check in they offered us. But all the other elements of our stay really deserve 1 star, even 0 if it has been possible.…
Lily Beach is lovely and luxurious! The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is excellent. There are very nice boats for snorkeling and diving right at the resort. The spa is amazing. We loved it!
Lily beach is one of the most beautiful places you will ever visit. There is honestly nothing to complain about. We stayed in a beach front villa with limited sea view (but the view wasn't limited at all) The room was spectacular, clean, modern & comfortable with direct access to the beach, the sea was around 10 steps from our back door. The snorkelling is out of this world. We saw hundreds of different fish, baby ray, manta ray, baby sharks and mummy sharks. The food is exceptional, we had everything from fillet steak to oysters. The choice is vast, fresh and of a high standard. The house champagne is Taittinger, and the cocktails in the main reception bar are top quality. We loved the Margarita's and Bloody Mary's. The beach bar is brilliant and perfectly placed. The Thai restaurant is fantastic, book on arrival to ensure you get in. The staff are wonderful, we had Jallel looking after us every time we went to the restaurant, he made out trip one to remember and we loved him. We ordered a lobster from the tank, which was a mistake as it was so expensive for what it was, over $300 for 1 lobster. Save your money and just eat from the buffet. You will find a fresh fish counter, where you can order fresh tuna steak which in lovely (as well as catch of the day, red snapper etc) We paid for both the Nurse shark trip and the Whale shark trip. Nurse sharks was 100% worth the money and an unforgettable experience, but the Whale shark trip was a waste of money, we did see the whale shark which was cool, but only for about 5 seconds, there are around 20 other resorts trying to spot the whale shark at the same time, and around 500 people jumping in the sea chasing after it. It didn't feel safe at all and wasn't enjoyable. The resorts should communicate with each other and limit the amount of people attending the same spot at one time. The spa is stunning and worth a visit but it is expensive, so check the prices before you book! There isn't really any evening entertainment, but that was absolutely fine for us.…
Went for my birthday with grandparents, got 4 cakes on the day of my birthday and had breakfast/room fabulously done up. The buffet was incredible and versatile, something new every night. The infinity pool was gorgeous, large and warm. The staff here are the friendliest people I've ever met and the rooms massive. I'd never go elsewhere in the Maldives.
Buy all inclusive package it’s worth it because everything is super expensive. If you are staying at an over water villa no need to pay for excursions not worth it you have everything you need in the too
My second visit (22 years later) and a huge difference this time round as there has been a massive upgrade to the island. That said, it was just as amazing the first time. Staff are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they all went out of their way to make the holiday the best they could for us. Massive shout out to Faisal, Remeez, Allin and the staff member who serviced our room twice a day (can't remember his name -- he also double as the DJ!). Despite being full to capacity it never felt full. There were always loungers free regardless of time of day, you could always book out equipment, get a clean towel, get a table, get served at the bar. I would definitely go back again and I'm hoping a lot sooner than 22 years as well!
A totally amazing holiday... a wonderful set of facilities. The all inclusive really was all inclusive; we had a fantastic dinner waiter called Afrah who made sure we had everything we needed and our drinks were never empty! The excursions were all totally memorable, with some truly once in a lifetime. Special thanks to Morgan who took some amazing video of my daughter with a whale shark, definitely a one-off!, and Tima who got us swimming with the sharks (in spite of a broken boat!) and wonderful video of us with the turtles. The dive facilities were great - thanks to Ed for taking me and my daughter on our first diving expedition. The spa facilities were also fantastic, with thanks to Julia. Too many others to mention by name but everyone at Lily Beach was so friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed and we felt totally at home. The water villa was a unique experience - including the glass floor where we could watch the visiting fish, and the deck that we could snorkel out from. Let's just say we spent the whole flight home working out how we could save enough to come back! Thanks to everyone at Lily Beach for making our holiday so special.…
Roland is an excellent photographer, we love his work and would highly recommend him ! Next time when we go to maldive we’ll hire his service again! We definitely love his art skill. Very patient, and professional
