A wonderful resort on an idyllic island. The water villa was exceptional, super clean with top notch amenities and impeccable service All our needs were provided for and were treated like royalty every single moment An unforgettable experience i!!!!
This was our third mother and daughter trip to Velassaru and once again the whole experience of our stay exceeded all our expectations. Velassaru is a stunning island, the entire Team lead by Brett, the hospitality, the food, the accommodation and comfort are all outstanding. I can only praise our entire experience lead by Brett, the General Manager who would stop to have a chat, say hello to acknowledge you and this example was followed through by his entire team. The food in all the restaurants is amazing from the variety at breakfast to the meals in the restaurants. Our special thanks to Chef Anu and Chef Chandu for all the outstanding dishes they make, mine definitely was the risotto and my daughters was the vegetarian burger. Every detail to attention is given to the food and presentation to make every meal delicious. The service whether it was breakfast, dinner or a drink and snacks at Fenn bar is fantastic. All the staff everywhere you were took special care to engage with you at all times. I would not like to leave anyone out but from the gentleman who looked after our room, the gardeners who maintain this stunning island we thank them all. In Turquoise thanks to Imran, Solamon, Rafaif, Zaheed. Thank you to Mr. Faisal, Marge and Joeo for an acknowledgement or chat when they saw us. Thanks to Chris on our sunset cruise for the delicious canapés and for making the sunset cruise a very memorable one. The spa is definitely worth booking, the treatments are fantastic and the spa area itself is very relaxing. I can only end this review by saying that I look forward to being met by Manny at Male airport again and being whisked away back to a piece of paradise that is called Velassaru.…
This is our first trip to Maldives and chose to stay at Velassaru after a friend's recommendation. We are so pleased with our stay here. We booked two rooms - beach Villa for our teenage children and a water villa for ourselves. The room was nicely decorated and the facilities was well maintained. We had half board - breakfast and dinner. There were gluten free options and fresh juices available. Great variety for dinner - pasta, Indian, lamb, beef each night. Snorkeling equipment is free, assuming you return them damaged free. The pool has a great view. There are reefs near the hotel that you may snorkel to see fishes. We saw a variety of fishes while snorkeling - white fishes, blue fishes, dories, etc. The water is relatively shallow and you really don't need fins to go snorkeling near the beach. We did a snorkeling trip and saw even more fishes. The hotel is also environmentally friendly. The straws are edible! No plastic bottles. Thumbs up to the management here. We would come back here again.…
We have been to the Maldives several times before and we were looking for an island with speedboat transfer that had a selection of restaurants. Velassaru was recommended to us by friends and it was a great choice. All the staff were fantastic and our water villa was beautiful. One of the great things was the choice of 5 restaurants - we also had a private dinner on the beach which was lovely. There is an option to go all inclusive but we opted for just breakfast and ate at whichever restaurant we fancied. I don't really drink alcohol so AI wasn't the best option for us. We had a wonderful time but if I had to nit pick then the only thing that bothered me was kids at the main pool being really noisy and kicking footballs every where This is not the hotels fault in any way and just an observation. .We travelled (deliberately) outwith school holidays but there still were still a fair few kids. I have kids myself so I'm not being mean and it didn't impact us too much as we had out own pool. We took our kids when they were younger to the Maldives but went to Bandos. I'm only mentioning it as I wouldn't probably recommend it as a honeymoon hotel for those that are looking for that. Stick to adults only islands. But we had an amazing time and would highly recommend Velassaru. Food and staff were fantastic and I would love to return.…
We, my wife and me, spent 2 Weeks of our honeymoon on Velassaru. Everything was perfect. The food, the weather, the beach, the water bungalow... Actually it was like in the paradise. Especially the service, for example the man who cleaned our bungalow, azhar, was excellent. Every evening he made crazy figures with towels on our bed. We can really recommend the island for honeymoon or just relaxing.
We had been waiting for over 2 years to make it to Maldives. Vellasaru resort was just Haven on earth, it met all our expectations. Staff and facilities were just amazing, our dining experience was just too good. We had two deluxe bungalows for family of 5 with ample of space and we'll decorated. Highly recommend it, we will be going back definitely.
Excellent resort offering all that you would want for a totally relaxing holiday. My wife and I enjoyed every moment. We took the Velassaru Indulgence package and it was worth every cent affording us the opportunity to eat in any of the restaurants, definitely a must if you want a diverse food experience at a manageable expense. The only slight issue we had was that there were alot of kids, apparently that is very unusual for the resort, but when you are a couple without kids it can be a bit irritating at times but it was not too much of an issue. Al up I would like to thank Brett and Martin for a wonderful resort and a wonderful experience, we will be back.
Hello Velassaru, we are missing you so much. From the moment we arrived you made our holiday a dream come true. The island is perfection, staff are wonderful & the food is first class. Thank you to Irufan, you treated us like royalty, everyday you made us smile 😊 We tried the Kayaking, early morning cruise & movie might. We met some amazing people, a place we will never forget. A few tears on our last day. THANK YOU for everything 🥰
We visited Maldives for the first time and it took a long time to choose a hotel. We ended up staying at Velassaru and it turned out to be a great choice! The island itself is very well maintained and the villas are cleaned twice a day (if you need so, of course)! The staff are friendly and always willing to help. We also booked a wedding ceremony for which our manager helped to choose a day with the best weather, the photos came out just perfect! Thank you Faisal once again.
It is one of those cosy places where you feel like coming back and this summarises all. Extremely clean and well managed , beautifully set rooms and bungalows . Any category you choose has its own pluses . Housekeeping immaculate & the people in this team are worth accolades . Toiletries well thought of and In sync with the environment . Teppanyaki a must try , highly welcoming and warm service there , same spirit of service in the breakfast . Turquoise is the convenient one and accommodating to all pallets . Sands also a must try at least once The Fen Bar has a good collection needs more mock tails and staff needs to smile more , and , welcome more The sunset bar also a beautiful setting to end the evening . The restaurant staff can be a bit non welcoming at times , which I don’t understand why in many Maldives resorts is the issue , not just this , but here at least they will do their job well , they will do the best for you . The SPA set in the water villa side , also a great . The POOL is the star of the show . It’s beyond relaxing , the beach connected to it is one of the best of the resort… though throughout the day every side has its own beauty . The management do their best to make your stay nice and where this is the spirit , all pluses and minuses have no value , intent is that you should be happy FEEDBACK TO THE HOTEL : Everything should not be left to requests , many things can be offered without requests , as too many requests take away the privilege of being served in Luxury , Luxury can only be Undressed by a naked spirit of service from the heart My view is if any guest is not being able to accept the privilege offered already , the host should be courteous to offer an alternate to make things better rather than deny the same .…
