Great place and staff .but unfortunately they dont provide proper timings for transfers from the hotel. And also no meal provided or an exception for booking on FB. Due to delay from other arrivals and no transfers available frequently. I did neither have lunch on day 1 or lunch on checkout .or neither any alternatives. They were more eager to send the guest off rather than look into the concern. Overall it was a good hotel, except for this and the servers at the restaurant asking us to leave on time since they need to start cleaning. Decisons taken by Front desk without considering the guest. I would appreciate the service of Jai at the bar, Arjun at the Spa, and a few others whom i cannot recall the name. Checkin staff were good and informative but during checkout and the night before was not a pleasant experience. Wifi is also not upto standards frequently disconnects. Need to improve transfer system and timings.…
I can say that I am very happy with my experience at Fihalhohi. The food is really good and diverse, the service is awesome and friendly, the room is better than in the pictures and the highest point is that the beach is amazing. If you are looking for really beautiful beaches, water and friendly reception in the hotel and excursions, I really recommend it. Super worth it! The only things to be improved: change the Nescafe coffee for the natural one and improve the WiFi quality!
The atoll is beautiful, as everything here at the Maldives. The resort is simple and not a big luxurious one but food and hospitality are very good. Bathrooms could use a renewal but other than that it’s good for the price. If you don’t like having children’s around maybe not right the place
We have been at the hotel more than a month ago. Very pleased with the staff, helpful and smiling. The food was tasty. The room location was above any praise: just near the ocean in the jungle. The best experience of wild nature and comfort at the same time. All of my children were excited to see the exotic birds, to try coconut milk and run in the wild. Snorkeling was breathtaking. The only real minus was Halloween celebration which was very imposing. The dinner decoration and loud horror music were disturbing. Felt uncomfortable at the least for a person who doesn’t celebrate it.
This was our first holiday in the Maldives and it didn’t disappoint. The Fihalhohi Island Resort lived up to all our expectations. Our room was spacious and comfortable, perfectly adequate for our needs. The food was excellent and there was always plenty of choice. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The island itself was pure Paradise surrounded by beautiful white sand. Our snorkelling experience was amazing with so many varieties of fish swimming around us. It was so peaceful with a very laid back atmosphere.
We have just returned from a fantastic holiday at fihalhohi island resort. It was our first experience traveling to the Maldives and WOW! what an island. Our stay was amazing, relaxing and pure paradise. One of the things that made this holiday special was the staff. They were so polite and friendly I would like to say thank you to Ahmed zikhaanu & Irushaan Ali from the restaurant who decorated our table for both our birthdays & the night before we left. Both were polite & friendly. The surf cafe was our favorite bar & the staff there was amazing we never had to ask for a drink they knew what we were drinking. Thank you Brito, Kutub, Shamim & Tamil. A very special thank you to Malinda who was outstanding he made my partners 60th birthday a birthday to remember with a fantastic champagne breakfast & private dining on the beach….you made it perfect. We were so sad to leave you all. The staff work so hard and only get to see their families a few short weeks at a time and always have a smile for the guest which must be hard for them all. Our room was always kept clean by a lovely man Shakeel who decorated our bed on both our birthdays & the night before we left & he always waved at us in the mornings when we were leaving to go to breakfast. The water villa was amazing waking up to the sound off the ocean every morning and sitting on the balcony at night was heaven. It was private and tranquil. The balcony was facing the sunset so watching the sunset every night was lovely. Walking around the island took about 20 minutes which was our daily exercise which we enjoyed most days. The spa was a fantastic experience I had 2 amazing massages by the only man in the spa (I didn’t get his name) but you have magic fingers thank you. The fihalholi island resort has got to be my most favorite holiday ever and we have some amazing memories that I will cherish for the rest of our lives. If I had to say anything negative they don’t have a pool. I am not a confident swimmer in the sea, but lucky for me you have to go out quite away before you can’t touch the seabed. The entertainment was not the best but the boys doing the karaoke were fun to watch and you could see they were enjoying their job. I really do hope my feedback gets read by the management and pass my thanks onto their amazing staff and they get recognized for their commitment to their work.…
The amazing all inclusive private island, has serene beach side and amazing palm trees with all u can drink all day, Buffet lunch , return transfer to hotel all cost up only $110 now that's a deal!.... it was a trip man!
TL;DR: The staff is super rude, water villa rooms have bed bugs and not enough options in the buffet for vegetarians. Here is the long version for those who are interested: I generally don't write reviews for hotels I stay at but this one is an exception. Multiple issues happened with me for a single day of stay at their most premium water villa suite and I believe it is my duty to let fellow travellers know what they are getting into before booking a stay at the hotel. So here goes: We were 2 couples from India who are pure vegetarians. I had assumed seeing the reviews about the large spread in their buffet that there will be sufficient veg options for us to choose from. Upon reaching the resort and seeing the buffet options in lunch we understood that almost everything on the menu were either with meat or egg. We asked the head chef to arrange for some veg options for dinner which he agreed to. When we went for dinner, we were served 4 large bowls of rice and half bowl of dal and a potato gravy. The quantity of food served for the 4 of us was not even sufficient for 2 people. When we asked the waiter (Saraf) to repeat the dal and what we got to hear shocked us. His response was that the "food is finished" and they can't cook any more and we should have come early (we still had 40 mins for the buffet to close). When trying to argue with him about the quantity of food his next response was that "We Indians eat more and the "typical" guest at their resort have less diet and hence the chef didn't knew how much to cook." This was enough for us to understand not to argue with this guy any further and we asked for his manager (Hasan), he was no good either. The solutions he gave us was to either eat whatever is available in the buffet (only thing we could have were fruits and water) or pay and eat from Ala Carte all while being super rude. Disappointed and hungry we left the dining hall and went to our rooms. Tired from all the travelling and water activities we thought of sleeping early and getting a good night sleep for the return journey to our country the next day. We were woken up middle in the night with itching sensations all across our body. When I confirmed with my wife is she was feeling the same we understood there are bed bugs. Upon turning on the lights and inspecting our bodies, we saw she had been bitten and had bite marks and rashes on her body. We immediately called the reception and asked them to get us a different room and arrange for a doctor. Instead of simply agreeing with the request they sent their caretaker to first inspect for the bugs (even though we had visible marks on our body). We in the middle of the night had to dismantled the whole bed and look for bed bugs just to prove that we weren’t lying. Luckily (or maybe not so lucky after all) we found 2-3 live bed bugs crawling under the mattress on a quick glance. The caretaker was smart enough to press them with their fingers and kill the bugs which he later classified as ants (I am attaching some photos I was able to take for the fellow travellers to comment). When still insisting changing our room, they gave us a different room. Bitten and horrified we thought of checking the new room for bugs (we had googled “beg bugs fihalhohi” and had found an old Tripadvisor and a Google review mentioning issues with bed bugs on the property). To no new shock for us, we found a bed bug on the new swapped room as well (which was also seen and confirmed by their on property doctor). After all this we asked for the manager (at 1 AM in the night). I can only say that the manager was the rudest and racist of them all. He simply disagreed of there being any bugs on the property even after us showing him live bugs, pictures we took from our bed and bite marks we had on our body. His response were as follows: - You must have had these bites from the previous hotel and this is a luxury property with 200 guest and no one has any issue with bugs - You must have drank alcohol and wandered in the beach and bitten by some creature when you were drunk - He knows "people like us" (Indians) and we are doing all this for getting a refund on the price we paid. He even asked us to be sent back to a public island (at 2 AM in the night) to look for our own accommodation. Frustrated and feeling defeated with no more energy to argue since we had a long flight to catch the next morning he simply asked me to put double bedsheets on a fresh bed and let us sleep. Feeling defeated and frustrated we left the hotel in anger and disgust the next morning vowing to ensure no other fellow traveller faces these problems and this long review is just to that avail.…
It was our 1st experience to travel to Maldives and we made the right choice to stay at Fihalhohi Island Resort - Maldives, which was highly recommended by our business partner in tourism. We stayed from 08-17 August (9 nights), And definitely, will not be the last one. The arrival was very smooth and hassle-free. The staff at the arrival area and boat transfer were very helpful and professional. Upon arrival, you are met by their reception team and gave you an overall understanding about the resort. As we booked 9 nights, we were told by some of our friends that it's too much for a vacation in Maldives and you will get bored. Alas, on the contrary, it was less and how we wished, we could have booked more. The beach area with pristine sand is something that you will always looking when you wake up. Crystal-clear water. Excellent service with wonderful, helpful and wonderful staff. The excursions offered are simply irresistible (we took the Nurse Shark Excursion and it was awesome). We wanted more but we were limited in time. Spa menu was good and we wanted more but, once again, not so much time :-). And every 5 PM, we had this Sunset Volleyball games - players from different countries with various level or knowledge of the game. It was a wonderful experience as we met different people that became our friends. And once you started playing, you will always look forward to it. It became addictive for a good and healthy reason. And a lot more! Definitely, we will be back..."Hasta la vista, baby" :-) :-) :-)…
I have been to the Maldives twice previously and loved it. I thought it would be hard to top my previous experiences. We were initially put into an absolute dump by lastminute.com on another island (dont use these charlatans! as a holiday company) despite paying all inclusive, we had no transfer and had to make our own way. After 24 hours of travel the "guest house" at Guraidhoo tried to charge us another £1500 to stay in a sh*thole. So we decided to move island. The next day we arrived at Fihalhohi and it was beyond every dream you could have & the previous islands I had visited. We had the time of our lives. Despite the added costs we had to endure thanks to the holiday company which ran into thousands, I can actually say it was worth it when we arrived here I have been around the world & I am fortunate for that. There isn't a place on earth that is better. The staff were wonderful from the minute we got there, every single one of them. I would go again tomorrow & the day after and the days after that x…
