To put it simply - anything you can think of in terms of what a resort has to offer, Gangehi fails terribly. Food is horrible, service is horrible, facilities are horrible, toothbrushes and bottled water costs more than a 100 USD.

1. Food is HORRIBLE, the worst out of every resort we have been to in our lives. 2. No water provided at all, 500ml bottles sold at 4usd each 3. No toiletries and vanity kit provided, 1 set of toothbrush and toothpaste sold at 12usd 4. Nespresso coffee pods sold for 4usd each 5. Double bed is made of 2 single beds with a separation in between 6. Wooden decking is rough and worn out, gave me a splinter in my foot 7. Shower taps are grimey and rusty 8. Light switches are stuck and not working, so no lights in bathroom at night 9. WiFi sucks, worse than mobile data 10. Check-out time is 11am Maldivian time, they charge extra for late check-out even though resort was only occupancy of 30% 11. Their manual says 2 times housekeeping services each day, but when we called for a change of towels, they said they only provide housekeeping once a day.

A lovely island in Maldivian style, all wood pathes and natural equipment, soft illumination. Beautiful sea with a great fauna. Nice and easy snorkeling. A long beautiful sandbank for a nice walk. Very good cuisine with a great variety of dishes, fresh fish and delicious desserts. We stayed in a lovely beach villa, very well equipped with big cupboards and a terrace looking out to the sea. The diving center also organized excursions to see mantas and snorkeling at Madoogali island. The whole staff is very efficient and friendly. -+

traveling in times of pandemic has additional costs and one knows it. but when lodgings take advantage of this and make it a business, it's ridiculous. We traveled to different destinations where the tests had a value within the "normal" barcelona usd70 dubai usd50 argentina usd35 omani usd25 indian usd18 Maldives usd 150? It is a pity that they take advantage of this and condition the guest to those values for not having an option.

My husband and I really enjoyed the hotel’s ecological goals and the unique strip of sand leading to the sky. We lived alone with my husband in a villa on the water. This is our best vacation. We are impressed with the staff; the girl at the receptione - polite and very gentle, the young man at the dessert restaurant Kuddus from Bangladesh - a very good-natured entertainer, the bar staff Armando and Hussein - was extremely helpful and understanding. We are very happy that we have chosen the villa on the water and the all-inclusive catering method. It helped us feel completely free and completely relaxed. Definitely worth a strip of sand in the morning and evening - very different sensations and unique impressions. The island is beautiful with the sun rising in the morning and the moonlight in the evening.

This was a dream holiday that we will cherish for a long time. The home coral reef is just astonishing and in itself worth all the extra travelling. Don't forget to snorkel all the time you can here, even if you have never tried that before, do it, go to this place for snorkeling at its best (you can rent equipment and it's not expensive at all). Plenty of cute crabs on the land, fruitbats, dozens of type of fish in the sea, from black-tipped reef sharks to stingrays, titan trigger fish, moray eel, turtle... You can all see those animals even if you are a complete novice to snorkeling. Of course, nature comes at a price: don't forget to bring earplugs! Loud koel birds were present and no human really enjoys the early wake up call. Don't be alarmed of huge ants either. I have to say the food was also very good, we enjoyed especially the Maldives day and the Italian day at the restaurant (we were on full boarding and it was a good choice). What's most important: the staff we met (especially at the restaurant, but also room service, reception, diving center) are all professionals, humble, yet very kind people who work really hard, and are a paragon of their profession. Please do appreciate them!

We should have gone to nakai dhiggiri Island on 2nd January 22 but on new years day 12 hrs before we were due to fly out was told our villa had been over booked for the first 4 nights so had to stay at gangehi island for the 4 nights then be transferred to nakai dhiggiri for the last 10 nighs...as soon as I set foot on the island I had a bad feeling about it... the villa was beautiful with stunning views and the beach is amazing and most of the staff are very friendly and helpful however the guy on the reception called manoj is the rudest most unhelpful man I gave ever known...we explained to him that we were only here for 4 nights then movin to nakai dhiggiri but he said he had us down for the 14 nights and to contact our tavel agent which we did and got a confirmation email to say what was happening...I showed it manoj but he wasn't interested....the day before we were due to transfer we went to reception and asked what Time the seaplane was coming to pick us up ...manoj said when he gets an email to say we are moving whe will let us know but we know he got the email 2 days ago same as we did ... the main restaurant is not enclosed and has a very limited food choice but the main problem with it is none of it is covered so it is swarming with flies so we couldn't eat is with fear of falling ill so lived off cereals at breakfast and main meal at night when the flies are not around....I will never come back to this island again

Stayed 8 nights HB in deluxe over water villa # 43. The villa is large and spacious including the bathroom. Big comfortable bed and open air bathroom. Free WIFI and movies. Great location on the island for sunset and snorkeling. Large deck with steps into the sea with rocks, some corals, quite a lot of fish including baby sharks. Very small island, one side has a long sandbar which you can walk along at low tide, very enjoyable. Good service. Some remarks about meals: Breakfast - quite poor, the same food every day, food not covered so sweet dishes had flies on them. Dinner - Good and large variety of dishes, unfortunately, some of the dishes were without heating, and were served cold.

We found Gangehi island on Agoda while looking for a remote island resort far from Male city, and it is what we exactly expected. It is 1.5-2 hour speedboat ride from the city, and located on a tiny island at the westernmost part of Maldives archipelago. Being on a small island with 40+ rooms in total, everything is beautifully maintained, and guests are well served. It does not need to take 20 min to walk around the island, the garden in the middle is so tropical, and the rooms are on each side of the island. The small size of island also favors less crowd and provides maximum privacy. Beach side is small but nice - having some place to do snorkeling, there is a sand bridge (which is my favorite) extending like 500m into the ocean in low tide, the marine fishes can be seen just close to the beach along sand bridge, but the water villa side has strong wind during our stay in November which is not so nice for swimming. The room we stayed (overwater deluxe villa) is very spacious, decorated with beautiful antiques (looks really old, so feeling like in old palace), and the bathroom and terrace are also nicely arranged. Just one note about the attitude of some staff who did not treat well to Asian looking us. At the first time, I thought it was just forgetfulness, but it was not only once and observed that they treated better to European alike people. For example, we did not get a greeting while an European behind us was greeted and asked what drink he needs in the bar. Also in the restaurant, we were not prioritized, but the other people received. (found a review too on google map that an Indian was not treated well). Maybe vast majority of the guests are from Europe, so the staff have less exposure to Asians. Anyhow, it is better to be trained well to treat all equally. In a nutshell, I would say Gangehi island resort is a scarce tiny beautiful haven.
