Other half was booked to Dj at his friends fathers wake. People from all over the country travelled over and some from as far as the states. The booking was made by the friend who reserved several rooms. We arrived the day before the funeral but as no room available we stayed at the premier inn which was great. Arrived at the hotel at 11.30 to set up in the function room. Was unable to check in until 3pm by which time the wake was in full swing. Hit with a disgusting smell in the room, I opened the window and returned back to the wake. A couple of hours later went back to the room and the disgusting smell was replaced by the smell from the kebab shop at the back of the hotel. I went to the shop and bought a scented candle. In the morning realised there was no hot water - left the shower running for 20 mins before giving up. The bedding had white stains on it and there were cobwebs dangling from the ceiling above the bed. If we had realised how bad it was, we would have gone back to the premier inn but it was booked for us due to us staying late to Dj and too late to go finding another hotel. Complained to reception and was told I should keep the water running for it to turn hot, explained that I did. Provided photos of bed staining and cobwebs and she said the manager was fully checking each room that week. Begrudging gave me the email address to send the pictures to. Have emailed 3 times and received no response. Have tweeted the manager twice on Twitter and no response. If you want a good hotel, stay at the premier inn at Baglands! We frequently stay in budget accommodation so we don’t expect anything plush but we do expect the basics of hot water and cleanliness. Other guests at the funeral had issues. Smells so bad they had to sleep in the boardroom. Absolutely cannot recommend this hotel at all. The only nice part of it is the reception area. The stay was made worse by the lack of response by the management - quite clearly don’t care about guests experiences.

No hot water, no bedding for our daughter provided, plug in the bath broken. Door handles broken. Front desk moved us to another room but seemed to be an inconvenience for them, no apology given for substandard service. Worst best western I have ever stayed at, would not return. Unlikely to use best western again in the future

Recently stayed here while visiting family very disappointed with the overall conditions of the room can see a lot of work has been done to communal areas however bedrooms are in desperate need of an update our bed side lamp didn't work the curtains were stained there was a general bad odor to the room the mattress offered no support could feel the bed base through the mattress was woken around 9am by drilling and banging directly outside the room/in adjoining room was made aware that this would be happening. Having stay at other Best Westerns over the years this was a let down.

As captain of my local golf club I held our annual dinner dance here. What tremendous service I had from start to finish. Communication between the Hotel manager was second to none. Previous planned event was cancelled due to Covid but everything was honoured. Food on the night was amazing, with Bryn and the staff always on hand checking that everything was ok. Thank you for helping to make our night go as smoothly as possible.
