Initially I wanted to give only one star due to outdated room facility (it's probably top 5 in Bukoba but not in Tanzania.) and lack of power sockets (only 2 in the room and one of them doesn't work) and sometimes blackout occurred (2 times when I was staying there but luckily they have back up generators). Although meals there is great! (However it took them forever to make them. Curry related meals are awesome! You should definitely try them when you're there!) Despite all those flaws, the reason I'm giving this hotel 4 stars is that staff here is actually really nice! They made me feel like I was home! They greet you with a genuine smile and really trying their best to help you when you have troubles. I really miss those staff there because you can't get anywhere in those more developed cities.

I stayed here for just 1 night - it was good with beautiful views over the lake especially if you can get a top floor room in the newer annex, which I was lucky enough to have. Other parts of the hotel feel a bit older, not surprising since I understand the hotel is owned by the Catholic Church and the history of the site goes back to Rudolf Kolping a German missionary to the area around 100 years ago. There is a nice space outside to sit, with a children's playground which is a bit old. Food is fine, but appears to be limited to local tastes (good fish and chicken).

Clean comfortable rooms. Good views of the lake and nice garden area. WiFi worked fairly well in most areas around reception and rooms. Food was buffet style as we were a big group but usually reasonable choice. Breakfast options varied daily with some days better than others. A good option in Bukoba.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while in Bukoba for business. The hotel is located on the top of a hillside away from the city center in Bukoba. It is about a 15 minute ride from the airport. The hotel itself is good for the value. The rooms were clean, and the windows were often kept open in order to maximize the breeze. My room was a little tight, but the space was adequate for one week. I was on the third floor overlooking the lake. If you can get a lake view, do it, the views of Lake Victoria are magnificent to behold, particularly at sunrise and sunset. The bed was very comfortable, and there are mosquito nets available if you're worried about the bugs. The bathroom was more problematic, as water seemed to leak in, and the first night there was standing water in there. This got cleaned after the first night, but due to the fact showers were very quick due to the lack of hot water (there is a hot water heater, but it is hard to use and the water goes quickly) I don't know if it would have been recurring. There is WiFi, but it tends to work better closer to the lobby. In my room on the third floor it was extremely spotty. The buffet style breaktfast is not great, and the only coffee available is the instant stuff. But the restaurant has great food available to order for dinner. If you want to visit town or the lake from this hotel, I recommend you take a taxi. The road to the hotel is very narrow, and not in the best shape. It would be a long and dicey walk down, especially at night. Overall, the hotel is great value, considering how reasonably priced it is. And the views of Lake Victoria it offers are spectacular enough to help one overlook its few faults.

This hotel is located on a hill outside the town overlooking the Lake Victoria. The lake can be reached via a difficult and dangerous footpath. The room that I had was tiny but adequate. The supply of hot water was limited to 1 minute. The restaurant is in a separate building and has terraces with nice views to the Lake Victoria. This restaurant may be the best restaurant in town with a very large menu. All the staff in the hotel seem to speak English which is a nice surprise in this part of the world.
