A very nice and old building in center of town, with shops and restaurants very near by. The standard rooms (with an extra bed) are somewhat renovated, but a bit too small for an extra bed. The beds are very very soft and not good for a poor back and the extra bed was with 3 mattress - a bit too much. In the summer the huge duvets were very warm.
The cleaning was poor with hair and other leftovers from previous use. The water in the sink could not run off.
The breakfast buffet was wonderful and everything you'll need. The staff was very helpful and kind.
A nice stay for one night.

This is not the place or location for a holiday visit, but for a two day business stay it was a nice and efficient way to stay in Hjørring.
Only real problem is the floor quirking in my room. I would probably stay here again if business bring me back to town.

This is an older town centre hotel, but it has of course been refurbished through the years. Had a single room for 3 nights. My bed was comfortable enough. No minibar or fridge in the room. Free WiFi, free parking. The breakfast (inclusive) was decent. The room was serviced every day. There is a hotel bar. Friendly staff.

This is officially a three star hotel. It is a family run hotel. It feels more like a really friendly bed and breakfast. It is situated right in the middle of town. The rooms were good size and super clean and quiet. The service is incredibly friendly and the staff go way beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcome.
A very nice breakfast with fresh bread and everything you need is included in the price.
I have absolutely only positive things to say about this hotel.

This is the only hotel in the central part of the city of Hjørring, so we booked here for the location.
When we arrived, I noticed a very sour smell in the reception. After having gone out again to park the car, we -re-entered from the parkin lot, and gosh!! Fungus and catpiss were the odours that met us. Close to the reception, it was merely the scent of piss of a long gone cat.
The rest of the hotel was ok, well maintained, and in good order.
The breakfast was not much to brag about, I've seen better ones in gas stations along the road.
When you pay 90 pounds / 110 Euros you expect somewhat more.

As the title suggests this hotel is fairly basic and not one you would probably want to stay for more than one night. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. Room was basic, especially the bathroom, it was big but with a very basic shower in the corner, toilet and sink and then acres of room going to waste, but I purpose that you can not do much as the building is old. The room was fairly cramped, could have done with some of the bath room space. Bed was soft and the cover think, far too warm. Went to the Bryghuset Vendia for Dinner, which is brewery/very good restaurant not far away, got back early top avoid the curfew. Breakfast was minimal, boiled eggs and bread and meats/Cheese, could have done with more choice.

Phoenix hotel in Hjoerring, Denmark is perhaps mostly for people passing by in need of a single night, but as such it is brilliant. Easy to get to and with a private parking lot for your car. The hotel itself is old, and it may be a while since they last redecorated, but the room we had was both spacious and comfortable, and everything was nice and clean. At arrival we brought a bottle of wine from the car. The desk clerk immideately gave us a pair of wine glasses noting that it might be better than drinking from the plasic cups otherwise found in the room. Nice and simple service, but important still. However, the real partypiece of this hotel revealed itself the following morning. The breakfast was simply fantastic. Lots of properly homemade food of various sorts, a wide selection of cheeses, charcutery, bread and marmalade, and an increadibly good liver paté. At Phoenix Hotel they serve up a breakfast buffé that easily competes with the large and more famous bruch buffés you’ll find in certain cafés and restaurants Copenhagen.

This was one of the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in my life.much rather sleep outside on the bench.this hotel has the smell of urine in the lobby, hallways, and rooms.the water doesn't drain very well in the showers,no A/C, stuffy smelling.the floors are un-even under neath the fake hardwood floores.the lobby is gated - off @ 11:45p.m forcing you to walk up these scary looking stairs from the rear of the parking lot.Save your money PLEASE don't attempt to stay there. By the way, after staying here for 7 day due to work My linen was never changed and dry towels only once.I had to go and ask for clean towels and linen.PLUS no refrigerator or microwaves.BUT they suppose to be a THREE STAR HOTEL.

Sorry that you think our hotel is so bad. I will comment on a few of the things you mention: Air condition is not "normal" in Denmark, and especially not in a hotel from 1886, - also the age of the hotel is due to the uneven floors you mention. Fridge and mircrowave are also not in very many danish hotelrooms - maybe you should have rented an appartment instead. Regarding the smell in the lobby and hallways, I can only say for a fact that it is NOT urin. I wonder why guests often dont mention their problems while staying at a hotel - they rather write it on the internet afterwards. It is like eating a steak, - afterwards complaining about it. Why not complain from the start, and give the server a possibility to make you a new steak??

Whilst expensive, this hotel appeared to be the only one in central Hjorring, so I booked in for 3 nights. However, the whole experience proved disagreeable ... Superficially, the hotel looked very attractive but that's where it ends. The room was large but run down, the bathroom a disgrace, the Wifi frustrating, and the staff indifferent. The last straw was the virtual curfew at 11pm when no staff were on duty and the lift stopped working, no fun when on the 3rd floor. After an adequate breakfast, I checked out and booked into Det Bette (restaurant with rooms).

For the price of this hotel I think it was very nice! The room had everything I need in a hotel room. A god bed and and a bathroom with a shower, a sink and a toilet. I think this is the first time I’ve been to a hotel where the pillows were actually comfortable!!! I am amazed! Also the fact that there is free and easy parking here is nice. The service was good as well. I have no complaints for this hotel and would definitely recommend it! We got exactly what we paid for!
