This guesthouse is located in a quiet residential area, is about 5 mins walk to Fujisan station and 15 mins walk to Shimoyoshida Station (Chureito Pagoda). Everything is so proper, so clean and comfortable even though is just a pod (I stayed in one of the pod-style mixed dorm). My pod window has the view of Mount Fuji. The communal bathrooms and toilets are very clean. Mai is a very nice host and she serves delicious breakfast.

My room is a 4 shared room, big space for bed with small locker, plug and hanger. The second floor share kitchen and dining room is great and able to view mt.Fuji. The breakfast is in another building which is tatami building. 7-10 mins walk to Mt.Fuji station , 5 mins walk to 7-11, a few restaurant nearby. Overall i enjoy the stay here.

Maisan chi is one of those beautiful places that you can't believe you had the luck to stay in! It was beautiful, serene, clean. Had a lovely kitchenette with a tatami area with an awesome fuji view. Just sit down, drink tea and enjoy Fuji. Maisan spoke English very well, was super nice, and answered every question we had in the depth. She also Googled for us things in Japanese if she had to (was a certain parking blooming right now? For example). For breakfast you got to choose between a Japanese one or a Western one. I got to try both and both were delicious. The guest house had brand-new facilities - toilets, showers etc. All in all if you come to kawaguchiko I HIGHLY recommend Maisan-chi guest house and Cafe

The guesthouse is located near Fujisan Station from where you can take many sightseeing trips. The guesthouse itself is very basic, but the rooms are clean. Wifi is excellent. Shared bathrooms and showers. Breakfast was simple. All in all a fairly bland experience.

We loved this guesthouse. Amazing view of Mt Fuji from the common room. Short walk from Mt Fuji station and we also walked to the pagoda nearby one morning for sunrise which was amazing. Room was spacious and nice interiors, share bathrooms were neat and clean. You can have breakfast included if you let reception know which was delicious and appreciated. Would definitely recommend!

It was a great time there. The guesthouse is just about 5-10 minute walk from Fuji Station, easy to find a place by GPS. Room is clean and comfort in traditional Japanese style. The pantry room in the second floor, you can see the view in large window where you can enjoy the view with a cup of tea. Shared bathroom and toilet are very clean. Shampoo and soap are available in there and towel is 100 yen for rent.

We stayed at Maisan-chi guesthouse for two nights in September. Our room had a shared bath room (towel is not included, 100 Yen). Room is quite big and bright. From the guesthouse it is a 20 minute walk to the Chureito Pagoda, from which you can have beautiful views of Mt Fuji. Drawback is that the place is quite noisy, especially when someone takes a shower in the early morning. Please take care that you don't arrive between 12.30 and 15.00, because the guesthouse will be closed then. Fujiyoshida: there is nothing much going on in this town. When we were there (September), almost all restaurants were closed. Directions: we came from Kyoto, took Shinkansen to Mishima. From there it is a 75 minute bus drive to Kawaguchiko. From Fujiyoshida you can reach Tokyo by train (2 hours). The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Fujisan station.

A very nice - Japanese style decorated guesthouse in Fujiyoshida. Very nicely kept up and the host is very warm & hospitable. Location is very convenient, just 10 mins walk from the station (easy to find) with 7-11 / stores closeby. Waffles at the cafe are super delicious - a bonus !

The guesthouse is very clean and tidy with traditional Japanese design. The location is good, 10 minutes walking from Fujisan Station. Mai is very helpful and able to provide you with information about the surrounding area in excellent English which will be a big help if you do not speak Japanese. Facilities are basic but modern and the guesthouse is a great value compared with a hotel for someone who will spend the whole day outside exploring the area. I used it as a base for climbing up Mt Fuji. Good for solo travelers.
