We stayed at the hotel as a part of guided tour with Fuji Mountain Guides to the summit of Mt Fuji. Considering that the hotel is located at 3400 meters above sea level and along two very buzy tracks to the summit of Mt Fuji you cant ask for much comfort. We already knew that sleeping was in sleeping bags... More

I stayed here in the middle of July, 2016. We checked in around 5pm, paid for the night and had our hot meal. We were then escorted upstairs to our small sleeping areas. Taking the uniqueness and the remote location of this mountain hut into consideration, I can see why they charge 72,000 yen for a basic hot meal (which... More

I stayed at this 'hotel' with some friends when we climbed Mount Fuji in September 2015. We booked the hotel in advance, paying a deposit. The rest was payable on arrival. They offered a basic Japanese meal before bed. 'Bed' is simply a wooden shelf with some bedding on it, with several other sleeping Japanese and westerners, but it did... More

The rooms in the hotel were too small and it's too hot to live with an air conditioner. The bed has a very hard surface, and it makes the bed uncomfortable to everyone who hates hard beds. Some advantages of the hotel are that there are many can machines and Japanese hot water bath.

Having experienced outdoor sleepovers on multiple hikes before, this has got to be the most disciplined and organised lodging anywhere! Once we arrived, we were asked to register and pay for the stay, no fuss! Then we were moved to the middle row of the seating area. Yes, only the middle row, newcomers are not allowed on any other rows.... More

I wasn't expecting a hotel, despite the name, but this hotel charges sooo much for what it is, which is basically a line of tightly packed sleeping bags and a cheap bento meal, and still charges 200yen to use the toilet. I got to sleep for about 30 mins before the 2am wake up call, and wondered why I bothered.... More

At first, reading all the reviews, I expected a military barracks style setting, but knowing what barracks are like, when I got there, I realized this was more of an old prisoner of war camp. The "sleeping bags" were crammed together overlapping each other giving each person just enough space to lay with legs straight and arms crossed or if... More

This place is terrible and is more like a cattle shed than hotel. Sleeping bags are laid out for everyone in a row and they all over lap which means you end up sleeping (if you are lucky) on top of a random stranger - everyone is packed in like sardines. As far as I could tell no one got... More

My partner and I stayed at the fujisan hotel on the 22nd of July. We got there around 5pm and the weather was getting pretty bad so we were freezing cold and looking forward to hot food and hot drinks! On arrival we were asked if we wanted dinner. My partner got it but I asked if I could just... More

Expensive place to stay won't feel not enough warmth the washroom/CR is outside the lodge so you have to walk downstairs from your bed then past the area where you can eat then outside and you should always have a 100 Yen ready just to enter the washroom everytime NOT ENOUGH space for your huge mountain hiking bags if you...
