We visited the Hotel Kaneyamaen in January 2017 and booked one of the "Yuraku Luxury Japanese Style Rooms with Open Air Bath with the Mt.Fuji View" for one night. We decided to drive up from Tokyo and found it to be an easy and enjoyable drive; a little over an hour and a half. A friend recommended Kozantei Ubuya but...

The most amazing ryokan hotel with some of the best views of Mount Fuji!!! First ryokan I've been to and the experience was amazing! The hotel's staff were some of the friendliest people I've met, especially at the desk where they provide helpful information about travelling to the next destination (if you haven't had time to plan that part). The...

Really impressive hotel. With ryokan style rooms. The food was absolutely amazing. Multiple courses, with amazing presentation!! Breakfast buffet was well stocked as well. Rooms are nice. Ours had a private onsen on the balcony. Bathrooms are traditional style and as they are linked to the balcony fairly cold in the winter. The rooftop Onsen has some amazing views of...

Really unique and lovely hotel. Huge hotel with stunning gardens and great staff. The onsen on the roof overlooking Mt Fuji on a clear morning is worth the visit alone. The hotel is way away from everything, but has everything you could need. I wish we stayed an extra night.

Coming off the train, the hotel provided a complimentary driver to pick us up. He also offered to take us to local restaurants and shrines. When we arrived, a nice lady gave us a tour of the hotel and made us tea. Our room was a typical ryokan style, with low tables, tatami floor, kotatsu, etc. We booked massages, which...

Stayed over for a few days. This ryokan is in a large compound. Generally very well-maintained with mostly locals. It is quite a distance from Fujisan station so a shuttlebus by the hotel is provided. The staff at the front desk are pleasant but a little stiff perhaps due to the language barrier. My stay was in a western room...

Very large resort style ryokan hotel which is excellent. We stayed in one of the rooms with its own private Onsen bath and a great view of Fuji-san. Room was spacious and comfortable. Outside bath was impressively large. Dinner was in a private room and was very good. Usual style of food and presentation but the young lady looking after...

This place has the perfect balance of ryokan and hotel ambience with beautiful garden and excellent plus friendly staffs. Room is nice, spacious and has a big private Onsen. We can see beautiful Mt.Fuji and garden from our room and Onsen. I recommend the open air Onsen on the 10th floor that has direct view of Mt. Fuji. On a...

I put hotel in quotation marks because this place is LEAGUES above any hotel I have ever been to so I feel it a disservice to call this place a hotel. Absolutely the BEST experience I have ever had at a hotel, PERIOD! Amazing! It was definitely the highlight of our trip and that's saying something considering our trip was...
