I paid for lodging through HotelTonight at Provident for June 10-12 2022. When I first arrived, I was met by at least three undocumented workers at the front gate as well as the bellman who couldn’t speak any English. I then inquired about a room to check in since my flight arrived at 9:30am. Isabel refused to check me in a room claiming early check in was only for residents of Miami. I told her that’s called discrimination and I would like my money refunded. I tried to contact the merchant, HotelTonight and they tried contacting the hotel several times for a refund but was denied. I asked Isabel for a refund as this was unethical and discrimination; she said because I signed a non refundable agreement, the hotel front of the house manager - Garrison Maya - denied the refund. Since I wouldn’t get a refund I kept the reservation. I told Isabella to ensure we had a double room as my elderly veteran father was with me. I left the hotel to sit in my rental car from 10am until 4:30pm. I arrived back at the hotel to check in. The front desk agent specified a king room. I told him again that I requested a double room because of my elderly father who is 69 veteran that has glaucoma. After lying and saying they didn’t have any double rooms, he went to the back office and came back with a surprise reservation for a double room. He never once said they don’t prove washcloths for bathing and housekeeping work daily. He only said if we need housekeeping we have to request in advance. We arrived in building 8 (room 815) and the sinks didn’t drain properly nor did the air work good in this Miami heat. The floor would condense so bad. I slipped and fell on it very hard. I had to practically threaten front desk to fix the issues or they could just extend a full refund because I was definitely leaving terrible reviews. They refused to bring us washcloths. We called five times from Friday night until Saturday morning. The first three times the front desk aren’t kept saying someone was arriving but they never came. So when I called the fourth time, they said they didn’t dance anymore and to check with security. I asked him, “why would I do your job and check with security?” He said housekeeping was gone and they didn’t have anymore. We had to wind up using the hand towels to bathe. The next morning we requested them again. THEY STILL DIDN’T SEND ANY. We requested housekeeping. They said they do not allow housekeeping to clean rooms unless you reserve for four days or more. So we had to use towels to clean up the bathroom then we’re had no more towels to bathe with. They are violating discrimination laws, the ADA for disabled, lodging laws pertaining to sanitation.…
The staff was very friendly. Was is good walking distance of good food. On-site bar was only open Thurs thru Sun. Area was clean. Only bad thing was the doors closed very loud, could hear when people came and went by the slamming doors. A little annoying.
It was our anniversary trip. We arrived at 2:30 and gladly they had room 701 ready for us. Couple minutes after getting in the room we realize the AC is not working properly and the room is not cool enough. Let’s start by saying that getting in contact with the property staff is not easy. Talked to several different people that drag the process to 2 hours and a half sitting in a hot room with no solution but to wait for it to cool down. We heard every excuse, from there’s nothing wrong with the AC, we are fixing it, it’s fixed, we can’t fix it. We ended up being moved to a smaller room with pretty much a communal balcony as you can see all your neighbors 10 rooms down. We had specific reasons to book the room type we did, those are the only rooms with any sort of privacy. The biggest issue in this situation was that is was very poorly handled by the “manager”. The manager (Hassik Waskes) didn’t even have the decency to come out of his office and resolve the issue. He just gave me a dirty look, called the front desk agent into the office and then sent him out to deal with me. He kept making excuses on his behalf, ultimately saying all they could do was give me $10 back for each night for the rate difference. I realized I was wasting my breath with these people as they couldn’t care less about making the situation right. Not everything is bad at the property. The rooms are very spacious, we never had an issue with parking and overall the staff was helpful and friendly. The cons of the property: The cleaning could definitely be better. No staff after 10pm. Poor management. At check out I was able to talk with Isabelle at front desk who apologized for the inconveniences and said I would get $20 back each night and complimentary parking for my stay. She said she could not give me any written proof of such promise, but if I had any issues receiving my refund I should contact booking.com as I did my reservation through them. I have an upcoming reservation that will most likely be cancelled if this issue is not handled properly. Tip for whoever maintains the property: Add some sort of privacy divider between balconies so that you can actually enjoy the outdoor space regardless of the room type.…
I will start by appoligizing for the long review: I used to stay here for years, since it was the Hyatt at the Blue. For almost 18 years if I recall. Some stays were good. Some were OK. Some were Pure doggy doo ( fo lack of the right wordy) !! Location and room size always plus. Most bed have old sagging mattresses. Room cleanliness varies. Most often, the AC was mediocre to non-existent cooling in any room. Constant issues that rooms were not cooling. Many times had to change rooms, since non had working AC. ( fun, hauling all luggage and food items in kitchen at odd hours of the nite with family with small babies!) Worst was a few years ago, that there were serious SERIOUS plumbing problems and toilets backed up and overflowed. SERIOUS overflow!! (See my review on this elsewhere) For DAYS the entire hotel had all sewage backing up all over. Lousy situation!! ( "City sewage issues"they said). No apologies, No refunds, No reimbursements.... you're on your own.... Thank you. Against my wife's desires, nonetheless I kept booking there, because of location and size of rooms, and shower/jetted tub combo. Wife for instance didn't like our baby finding broken shards of glass in rug and under table when crawling and almost eating it ( other story. After complaints to housekeeping, still full of glass shards.... we changed rooms next day). Jump ahead to JULY 2021: Flew in alone. Private flight cancelled due to tech issues, had to take AA next day via Aruba to Miami. Notified hotel that morning that that would not make the initial planned and booked arrival first night, but DO NOT CANCEL as NO SHOW, but keep the reservation for next night arrival. "I will not be deducted one nite", NO Problem I said. My fault for not showing up, but KEEP THE ROOM for arrival next night. ( Already paid in full). Next day, double check by calling reservations/desk that room is held, and I will be arriving after 9:00 pm. "No problem. There is no desk service/reception after 8, but security at he guard house has list with arrivals and my name is on list All well. Key cards will be left with guard." ( Remember, I am a frequent guest, know most guards!). Anyway. arrived at Gate at around 9:15. Gate closed. Guard house closed. Handwritten sign " be back in 15 minutes".... So I drive around 20 minutes, come back. row of cars waiting entrance. After 15 minutes Guard (security officer) waltzes in, and starts letting cars in. I report that I have a reservation and as delayed and was told to get keycard etc since already pre-checked in. Guard says my name not on list. Double check. Name NOT on list. Am not allowed in. Guard says " mr. Maal , I know you as frequent guest, but name is NOT on list".... No key card, no room , nada!! By now after 10 pm. Guard says desk and office is closed. Noone to handle now. Sorry. ( By now I have been traveling over 24 hours, with delays... no sleep.) Guard says I can come back nest day after 8 AM....... I drive off and try calling the number for Provident reservations. It is forwarded to the GUARD HOUSE' ..... Same Guard.... " Sir, your name is not on the list I said....." So, I go park somewhere and start booking another room. (in JULY!!! Most were filled!) Finally after 1 AM find a hotel for one night.... Go check in and sleep ( Thank you, Hilton Homewood Suites even at $198 for 8 hrs)!). Next day, check out, and go to Provident.... Go to the reception and complain. Am told " your name was on the list. The guard should have seen it......" ( PS, The guard let ME check the list, my name was NOT on it....) Oh well, Get a room, and I reminded them to please make sure the AC is working and room is cool. Get to room, room is like 80 degrees. AC is NOT cooling. Desk says it takes time to cool down. So, set thermostat to 65 and go on road for meetings etc. Return at night 7 pm, room is still 78 degrees, with AC blowing warm air. Complain to desk. They say all they can do is change rooms...... Other room is same crappy AC. Desk and staff already gone for the night at 8:15 Can]t do much. Next day leaving for work, stop at desk and complain, ask for tech service/engineer to FIX AC. Was assured they would, or be given other room..... That night, get to hotel around 9:00 Fleet of 11 cars with guests waiting at guardhouse. ( Same note :" Be back in 15 minutes). After 48 minutes of fuming guests, honking horns, pissed off families, ( ps, calling the hotel forwards the calls to the guardhouse, we hear it ringing....._ Guard saunters over...... Lets Cars in. get to room. Room is HOT... AC still same..... Desk closed , no staff, no other room..... I decide to check AC filter, see what I can do to lessen the issue: Air filters is filthy and CLOGGED as if not cleaned in years.... Nothing to be done. Another hot nite, and PS. there was hardly any warm water or water pressure in shower, to add insult to injury!!! Another glorious night!! Next morning I clearly and firmly announce my displeasure, and tell them to send maintenance man. He comes to room and I show him that it is warm, and tell him there is something seriouosly wrong!! ( I do NOT tell him I checked the filter!) I tell him that I have to leave, and tell the desk to FIX IT or get other room. I call hotel from the road in afternoon, to double check. The desk says problem fixed and AC is working fine..... Get home early, round 5. Room is STINKING hot. AC NOT cooling any, no hot water no pressure... ( did I tell you also the faucets fall off when turned, and rusted?) So I call desk. They send over maintenance man again.... He says he check all out and serviced, and should be fine.... he takes out his Iphone, and pretends to show me a " room temp reading" via an app. Indicates 68 CELSIUS~, Says " See, it is fine!" I explain that there is NO IPHONE ambient temp app, other that the Iphone Internal temp. and besides.68 CELIUS is flaming hot... He says he will go get someone from housekeeping. I ask him if he checked all, and if they serviced or cleaned the unit. Claimed he did...." and we filled gas and changed filters!" After he left, I got a chair and opened the access and saw that THE SAME FILTHY FILTER was still there, UNTOUCHED WITH a small yellow "Post it" note I left day before, saying "CLEAN ME!"...... I grab the filter, go to the desk and raise hell that I dont like being lied to and made a fool of AGAIN for third day in a row, and dumped in a crappy room, with no AC, with non-present Guards and guests being kept at gate for an hour... etc etcetc and that their technician / repair man is lying his ass off. I inform them I am checking out, and I demand a refund of the remaining 4 days of my stay!!!! I am told they will refund, but please call their manager tomorrow after 9 AM to explain my issues etc etc etc........ .I check out, take all my belongings etc etc and check into another hotel ( EB Hotel near 36th/LeJeune). GReat room great stay Good AC, Warm water, great service......CHEAPER!! in finalizing, the good people of Provident Hotels NEVER EVER reimbursed/credited my stay,...... Three times I called the number for the "manager". He was never "in" and NEVER returned my calls... So there you have it.!! My excuses for this longwinded letter and review. I have been wanting to write this since the next day, but am still fuming and ticked off at the unacceptable, shoddy, disgusting, insulting and almost felonious way I was treated after almost 2 decades of stays at this hotel. I can honestly honestly say that I would NEVER EVER EVER recommend anyone staying here. I cannot for the life of me understand the good reviews they have on various sites. This place is a RIPP OFF, and I will never ever stay here again. If you don't believe me.. go ahead and try your luck. This place should be condemmed and closed down.....…
The hotel is very nice. However, I have to give a huge shout-out to the bellboy Jaime. He is amazing. I've been coming to this place for 2 years and every time I return I am just happy and relieved to know that Jaime will be there for anything. He is super friendly, with a can-do attitude that makes you feel at home. Also, the receptionists and all the staff overall are great.
Stayed for 4 nights for a girls trip. Location is nice, you can walk to the restaurants off property in minutes. If you are looking to go to the beach I suggest you book a place closer due to traffic it takes an hour each way to get there and back. Units do need updating (told by front desk they are updating from the back to the front units). The unit could of been cleaned better, I would up cleaning the doors and floors myself when we arrived. Housekeeping done by request 3 days a week. Pool was nice and clean. Overall enjoyed the stay. Did not use the spa or the restaurant. The pool bar was not open but it is a sort walk to the indoor bar and they will deliver food and drinks to you poolside.
The effort is beautiful and the rooms amazing. Stocked with everything you need and large comfortable beds, however I had a number of problems at this resort. On my second night at the resort at about 5am. Two men attempted to enter my room under what I believe to have been false pretences to Rob me. Saying they were locked out and wanted to use my balcony. And then while checking out i Left my bag in one of the rooms. I called. They said it wasn't found. I went back, to check myself. The front desk, did nothing and but gave me an email. It was the brilliant concierge that I double checked with who took me to the room let me check and then took me to the employee staff room where my bag was found in the lost and found exactly where it should be. I found the whole thing exhausting and in the end a huge lack of hospitality.…
The hotel is a little faded and the views from the lower level units is non-existent, but the room was clean enough. The reception staff on the other hand are down write rude, taking their tone from the supervising receptionist. She is in the wrong job - she is the rudest, aggressive member of any hotel staff I have ever come across. My suggestion - avoid this hotel at all costs - its almost as if you are doing them a favour staying here!
I recently booked through bookings.com but had to cancel suddenly because of covid 19 positive , i really had planned on going but was honest and even willing to provide the actual positive covid results and still they did not refund my payment, i had paid in full. If i would have not been honest maybe it would be better , but im not that shallow and actually care about people.
I give 2 stars as the room was a good size and the bed comfortable. Many shortfalls though. This is not a resort. Pay no attention to the hyperbolic website which is a false representation of this apartment block. We have lived in Doral, Miami for 2 years and about to leave to go home to UK. We had seen this place from outside and it looked okay for a place to reside for 4 nights after we left our apartment. I even thought it could be a treat to stay in a beautiful resort for our last few nights in Miami. This is not a resort. You think it will have lovely aspect, maybe views of golf course. No, it is dark and the only view is a big giant hedge. There is no where to walk except the car park where you just have a view of traffic o. Busy road. On arrival, and throughout our stay our neigh bours smoked Marijuana even at 10am I'm the morning, so it was impossible to open the patio door for air, without that stink. Our room smelt of smoke throughout. Gross. The clientele of the facility are less than ideal. We felt worried to leave our room for long periods. And always drew the curtains and took passports with us. It just didn't feel secure. We renewed a room with a kitchen so that we could save money on meals. We reported that yhe microwave was broken on arrival. We ended up having to waste money on takeout as it took 2 days for them to fix. I was also trying to work from the hotel a d had many corporate meetings to do on Zoom at certain times of day. They eventually said they'd send someone to replace the microwave at 9am. This was a good time for me as I didn't have meetings. They arrived at 10.30am when I was in middle of a work zoom call. They didn't speak English so I couldn't ask how long it would take or what they needed to do. They could see I was in a middle of a call and my camera was on and sound. They then drilled noisily for an hour. They also came into the room smelling badly of body odor. Not wearing any masks at all. And not having courtesy to put masks on. I was going to be having Covid test same day for international travel, and these idiots come in to the room all dirty and maskless making a racket of noise too. The room and resort is very tired looking and needs a total deep clean. You can't wall bare foot as the carpet is filthy. The toilet roll holder was broken, coming off the wall. The kitchen and bathroom grimy. Buyer beware. This place is not anything like the website. …
