We are a friendly, family owned campsite set in the heart of the picturesque Suffolk countryside just 2.5 miles from RSPB Minsmere, new home to BBC Springwatch. The peace and quiet of our surroundings make us an ideal location for that get away from it all relaxing break, with panoramic views over the farmland for those lazy breakfasts and stunning sunsets as a backdrop for your barbeques after a day's fishing or sightseeing.

My first time camping and was a little nervous of what to expect! This campsite was a great experience. I loved the way each pitch was clearly defined and spacious and so clean. Facilities for washing up up and toilet/showers very well kept. Everyone respected the campsite and was so lovely seeing people enjoying the outdoors. Beautiful lake to walk around too.

Good location and nice quiet site. Easy reach of Dunwich, Minsmere, Westleton. We cycled to Framlingham but drove to Southwold. You can only use eco friendly chemical in your toilet but we weren’t aware of this beforehand. Nice stock of books and dvds to buy or borrow. Big site and lovely fishing lake. Washing area fairly basic but clean and nice hot showers. Only two Loos and 2 showers for ladies and same for men so don’t know how busy this would be in high season. No razor socket in men’s apparently. No hairdryer. Shop with good stock. Friendly staff.

Thank you for your review and feedback Anne. We do have a toilet/shower block on each field with a total of 5 showers each for ladies and gents; each block also has a disabled wet room with toilet. There is a free to use hairdryer in both of the ladies blocks. Unfortunately there is not a razor socket in the smaller of the gents blocks but there is in the other one. We do ask that only organic or formaldehyde free toilet fluid is used but this is on our website and also in our booking terms and conditions.

This is a lovely clean site, quiet, with good sized pitches. Hubbie loves the fishing lake and can't wait for the new one to open next year. Lovely well stocked shop. Clean hot shower block. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Nice local pubs nearby.

Was a little worried about staying here after reading the reviews regarding noise. I understand it is advertised as a quiet site and appreciate others views, but if you are allowing children of any age to stay then this is not going to be a realistic prospect. Well we needn’t have worried. We stayed for 7 nights and we are not a silent family and do like to chat and also enjoy listening to music/ radio. This wasn’t a problem. We were never told to be quiet, there were other families who were far noisier than us and I don’t believe they were told to quieten down either. It is a lovely clean site. The toilet block was regularly cleaned and never felt at all grubby. The pitches are huge, with plenty of space for the largest of tents. The tree lined walkways to the toilet blocks are a great idea and are used. This prevents people walking across other people’s pitches, which is a nice touch. I would definitely recommend this site. It is very central to lots of local attractions. I wouldnt hesitate coming back again.

Thank you for your review Nathan, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We do advertise as a peace & quiet site but we don't expect people to be silent and obviously we want everyone to enjoy their stay with us. We do appreciate that during the school holidays the level of noise will be a bit higher than normal due to the number of people on site but as long as no one is intruding on others enjoyment of the site and any radios or chatting cannot be heard off of your pitch then hopefully everyone will be happy. We do patrol the site during the evening to ensure that noise levels are kept to a minimum after 9pm. We hope to see you all again in the future.

Just finished our 3rd visit this year to this lovely site, As always it is well maintained all over the site, always clean and tidy, the utility block is always clean, plenty of hot water for showers, ,and dish washing, there is a room with a freezer for you to freeze cool blocks, and washing machines / dryer, and leaflets for the surrounding area with all the things to do and places to visit, also magazines to read / swap there is a lovely fishing lake ( another one under construction opening 2019 hopefully ) 3 long doggy walks at different locations from the site, we are always made to feel welcome and the staff are friendly and helpfull, the onsite shop is very well stocked with everything you could want ( i call it a mini tesco ) if its not in the shop you don"t really need it !!! and they don"t rob you !! it is a very peacfull site in the country side, but still not very far from the coast if you want to visit the seaside towns of Southwold/ walberswick. Aldeburgh, etc and the national trust site of Dunwich is only a few miles away as is Minsmere we love this site so much we have another 4 nights booked for this year and 3 Holidays booked for next year ( 2019 ) well worth a visit if you want to come into the county of Ssuffolk John & Julia Blake ( and Oscar the dog )
