Welcome to Punta Teonoste. We created a place in which to reconnect with the pure energy of the elements, in a setting of incredible natural beauty. It's our desire to make you indulge into the luxury of an unspoilt surrounding, to see you enjoy our stylish yet cozy atmosphere, the delicious food and the various activities. At the end of your stay we want you to leave with a relaxed smile on your face and a heart full of unforgettable moments. Nicaragua is a year-around destination. All seasons are great for diving and surfing or exploring land and culture. While the months from December to May are completely dry, the months from June to November can produce the typical tropical rain showers which makes the surroundings lush and green. A setting of rock formations, small bushes and trees as well as the ocean promote the significant life forces of nature's energy and welcome you to enjoy your stay with all senses. Punta Teonoste is intimate and relaxed, offering an emotionally intelligent approach to service that begins with empathy. The responsible and caring attitude of Punta Teonoste is the key to an unobtrusive yet attentive service that makes guests feel right at home.

I absolutely adore the architecture, beach and horseback rides. We came here to see the turtle laying eggs and it did happen for us. A local guide took us to the reserve and we ended up seeing many turtles laying eggs. It was a wonderful experience. As I said in the

Punta Teonoste is everything it claims to be and more. The breathtaking beach with soft sand and impressive surf, romantic bungalows, poolside restaurant, and free amenities and activities for guests (horseback riding, surf boards, bikes) really did meet and exeed expectation.

Cozy and small place with what seems to be a private access beach. The restaurant offers gourmet level dishes and the “icacos en miel” dessert is a must. The budget for this place may be a bit higher than normal but definitely worth it.

A small ecolodge with great, helpful staff (with many who spoke english). The lodge is just back from the ocean with a soft sand beach with no large rocks. The waves can be big if you like riding the waves (equipment available). For me, AC is a must (only a few units have it).

Never having been to Nicaragua we loved the ride from Managua as we got to see how the rural people lived. Our driver was from the hotel and even took us into a small town to find a snack. The ride took about 3 hours. It is more like 2 hours during the dry season we were told

What is the best way to get to and from the hotel and airport??
Directions to Punta Teonoste Driving directions from Managua Airport (approximately 2-1/2 hours total) As you exit the airport, turn right onto Carretera Norte. At the first roundabout, continue straight toward Tipitapa. At the next stop sign, turn right heading toward Masaya. This is a fairly easy road to travel and your duration is approximately 20kms. Upon arriving in Masaya, turn left onto Carretera Masaya and head toward Granada. Just outside of Masaya, you will arrive to a roundabout and see a sign for Nandaime. Turn right at this sign onto Highway 6 and head toward Nandaime. After approximately 10 kms, you will pass through the small towns of Catarina, Diria and Diriomo (villages noted for their plants and handicrafts). Approximately, 10 kms after Catarina, you will arrive near the turn-off to Mombacho Volcano. Keep right at this juncture and continue heading toward Nandaime. Travel 10 more kms until the road dead ends. Turn left onto the Pan American Highway. You will find a yellow sign written PUNTA TEONOSTE with an arrow to the left. About 19 kilometers past Nandaime, you will cross over the Ochomogo Bridge towards Rivas. 3 Options to go to Punta Teonoste from Nadaime: 1. Option 1: Turn right immediately after the large iron bridge of River Ochomogo, and drive following the yellow indications of PUNTA TEONOSTE on a dirt road for about one hour. This road meets with the second road that comes from “El Amaparo”. On your journey, you will cross first a river on a concrete bridge in ¨Pueblo Nuevo¨, and then second, through the river in ¨San Ignacio¨. You will arrive to another iron bridge in ¨Salinas de Nahualapa¨, on the right. Cross it driving direction “El Astillero”, and drive for about 6 more kilometers, until you arrive to HOTEL PUNTA TEONOSTE. 2. Option 2: Keep driving after 2 kilometers from the iron bridge of River Ochomogo, and turn right in “El Amparo”, where you will read a yellow sign indicating PUNTA TEONOSTE on a dirt road for about one hour. This road meets with the road coming from the iron bridge Rio Ochomogo. On your journey, you will cross first a river on a concrete bridge in ¨Pueblo Nuevo¨, and then second, through the river in ¨San Ignacio¨. You will cross ¨La Virgen Morena¨ before you arrive to another iron bridge in ¨Salinas de Nahualapa¨, on the right. Cross it driving direction “El Astillero”, and drive for about 6 more kilometers, until you arrive to HOTEL PUNTA TEONOSTE. 3. Option 3: Follow the Pan American Highway south to Rivas: Just before you arrive to Rivas, you will see signs for TOLA and PUNTA TEONOSTE. (This point is just beyond kilometer marker 110 – look for a small corner stall for tire repairs). Turn right onto a small cobblestone street until the end where you will turn right again toward the village of Tola. (Should you arrive at a roundabout on the Pan-American Highway in Rivas, you’ve gone too far. However, that would be a great place to buy gas and supplies. So, if necessary, go through the roundabout and find the Pan American Grocery Store just behind the Texaco Gas Station on the right hand side). From Rivas to Tola to Las Salinas (approximately 1 hour): If you went to the Texaco and Pan American Grocery Store, return to the cobblestone street. At the end of this street, turn right and you will be heading toward the town of Tola. After crossing a one-lane bridge, you will arrive in Tola. In Tola, you will pass a large church (on your right side). Behind the church is a public square. At the far end of the square is a stop sign and a police station. Turn left at the police station. Travel two blocks and turn right at the Rancho Santana sign. You will now be on a dirt road and will have about 45 minutes more of travel time in front of you. You are ultimately heading toward the town of Las Salinas. You will pass the gates of several developments: Hotel Iguana and Rancho Santana. Just beyond Rancho Santana, the road forks – stay to the left. You will pass through several small villages – just stay straight on the main road and keep heading toward Las Salinas. When you arrive in Las Salinas, you will notice some old wooden salt barns on your left. Continue on through most of the town until you come to a small hill. Turn left here and cross over the bridge. Just beyond the bridge, the road is paved again. You will pass a Century 21 Office on your left. Keep following the road for another 3 kms and you will arrive at HOTEL PUNTA TEONOSTE. Where do you fly into?
The international airport is in Managua. Best is to have the resort book a shuttle for you, ask for an SUV the roads are bumpy.
