We stayed at two villas - Villa Santana, and, because this was not available for our full stay, a garden villa. Both were very nice. Villa Santana is a world class resort house - beautifully appointed, with fine art on the walls and every comfort, and it's a spacious house with accommodations for lots of people. It's beautifully laid out,...

Rancho Santana is not only beautiful and perfectly run, it is also staffed with the most gracious people of any place I've been. From the beautiful rooms overlooking the Pacific to delicious meals from breakfast to dinner it is a supreme place to "let the world go away." They arranged an excursion to volcanos and the market, as well as...

I think our team had as much fun helping you to plan your time here as you did experiencing it! We love witnessing families really living the Rancho Santana Good Life and it seems like you all took full advantage; surfing, eating, exploring and relaxing. We hope to host you all again soon!

Spent Thanksgiving week in this beautiful paradise, swimming, walking along the beaches, lunching at Los Perros and the Inn, visiting Ometepe volcano and Rivas and more. Accomodations at the Inn, restaurants and everything was just perfect. A beautifully casual yet elegant ambience that encourages you to relax as well as try new activities. And the fact that it's smaller than...

We had an incredible 3 night stay at Casita 10 at Rancho Santana. We felt like we had the whole property to ourselves, and saw almost no one on the 5 gorgeous private beaches. Great food at the restaurant, a convenient little tienda to buy groceries (incredible fresh passion fruit juice and chocolate covered coffee beans!), all kinds of outdoor...

I can't wait to come back! Rancho Santana is a gorgeous resort that invites you to truly unwind and get away from it all. Over our 5-day stay, we lounged by the pool, went horseback-riding, surfed, hiked and saw lots of cool animals (like howler monkeys and massive iguanas). We also ate delicious seafood and drank some of the most...

We went just for dinner and swimming. Happy hour was great loved the games you can play sipping drinks. Then dinner was amazing. Our group got a burger, steak, and pizza. All top notch. Reservations are required for dinner if you aren't a guest there. Even in non busy season.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Rancho Santana, set serenely in the Southwest Pacific offers a collection of distinctive seaside experiences. Though little more than two hours from Nicaragua's capital city of Managua by car, the property has grown into a quiet community that enjoys purity, authenticity, and a somehow romantically rustic elegance. Both residential and resort, "the ranch" boasts over 2,700 acres of majestic land along two miles of shoreline which include five unique beaches. And while this paradise is the perfect setting to do nothing at all but sunbathe and stargaze, its remarkable range of terrain, unique climate and soothing coastal breezes make it a coveted destination for the more active and adventurous traveler. Tucked between the open sea and the immense Lake Nicaragua, "the ranch" has the distinction of being one of the only isthmuses on the entire Pacific Ocean. This unique geographical phenomenon creates gentle tropical breezes, which when paired with year-round warm ocean waters make the beaches' surfing conditions some of the most coveted on the planet. With the early sunrise, "shredders" of all ages and origins take to the breaks of Las Cinco Playas de Rancho Santana, which include some of the world's most vertical waves, providing both visual drama as well as world-class surfing. Lookers-on walk the water's edge watching the surfers dance across the waves while just yards behind them fisherman bring in what will be the evening's fresh catch in the clubhouse's renowned restaurant, La Finca y el Mar. ... more   less
