I stayed with these guys for 3 nights and everything was fun, music, cooking, activities and lot of laughs. Very responsible and always ready to help me with anything. I know one day I will come back with them.
We booked the top room at the Jungle Tribe for 3 nights. I made the booking online in the UK. The communication was easy and good. The guest house is at the quieter side of the village, which we really liked. The room is light and spacious, so is the bathroom. It was amazing sitting on our balcony, looking out over the river and seeing the monkeys mucking about on the rocks across of the river. There is a lovely restaurant at the guest house, overlooking the river. While you eat you can watch the local wild life (monkeys, large lizards, colourful butterflies) coming to the river. The food that was served was so amazing that we never went anywhere else for food during our time at Bukit Lawang. The place is run by an elderly couple who are just lovely and so helpful. I would definitely recommend staying and eating at the Jungle Tribe!…
We enjoyed the food at Jungle Tirbe so much that we went back multiple times. A lovely man was our host and the restaurant had a really nice view and atmosphere. We enjoyed relaxing over a few beers whilst waiting for our food. If you are in a rush then this isn't a good place to eat but if you're happy relaxing and watching the world go by then it's perfect. I highly recommend, some of the best food around and was served with a smile.
We stayed three nights here before and after 6 days in the jungle . Owned and run by the local Rambe family it offers comfortable accommodation with river views, balcony with visiting monkeys, jungle style bathroom in some chalets and nice big comfy beds. The family are most accommodating and will happily do whatever they need to please. We had a super stay here and can only recommend. No hot water in some rooms but your really do not need it! A nice little bar with views across the river ... go there!
My son and I stayed here 2 weeks ago at the beginning and end of our 6 day jungle trek and absolutely loved it. Although we arrived after midnight we were warmly greeted and immediately shown to our wonderful room-- enormous, with a high ceiling, electric fan. ample sockets, WiFi, superking size four poster bed and a large single bed, both with mosquito nets (although we had no problem with mosquitos at all whilst there). The large covered terrace with comfortable chairs and a hammock overlooked the river and the rooms location in my opinion cannot be beaten (I stayed at 2 other guest houses nearby last year). All of the decor was charmingly traditional and very clean and the bathroom was wonderful with a hot shower even during a power cut, which was the icing on the cake! Teddy's warm welcome the next morning set the scene for a friendly relaxing and comfortable stay with excellent service and very good food--so good that we never tried anywhere else. I would not hesitate to highly recommend a stay here and I will certainly be returning!…
