We stayed here because the Teddy bear Hotel was full. The good things first: the location can't be beat - it is just past the entrance to the Baguosi and on the bus route up the mountain. 10 mins walk to Bagousi town where there are tons of restaurants. Bus station itself is 10 mins walk away. The grounds are nice, big lake, rope bridge across it, peacocks roaming the gardens (my 3 year old liked them). Room was large - they didn't have a king sized bed so we had twin beds instead - and it came with a tv (only Chinese channels), hot/cold water dispenser and a couch and coffee table near the window which was nice except that the couch was threadbare and worn and has definitely seen better days. The floor was not carpeted which made it quite chilly to walk on but they provide bathroom slippers.
The cons: the hotel felt deserted and the whole time we were there we hardly saw anyone else which made it rather creepy. Reception was always quiet and when we went for breakfast (before...

The hotel was in a good location to hike to Mt. Emei, temples, and walk to restaurants and spas. The rooms were comfortable, but not fancy. The breakfast was terrible and our guide kept trying to push us to eat there for lunch and dinner. However, there are plenty of good, inexpensive food down the street. Because we didn't eat dinner there, they tried to charge us $18 yuan for the bad breakfast that was suppose to be included with our room. We also found a very nice outdoor spa with mud and fish therapy down the street that made for a relaxing afternoon after climbing Mt. Emei. Very little English was spoken here so don't count on getting any advice on restaurants or activities. The grounds are pretty with peococks and turkeys running around. It is a large hotel, but was very deserted when we were there. We were going to stay at the Teddy Bear, but this was definitely a better location and hotel. More
