Myself, my husband and our 13 year old twins stayed here for one night on our way back from the Alps and en route back to the UK to experience the Loire Valley. It did not disappoint. We purposely arrived early (ie way before the 4pm room check in time) to make use of the grounds, gorgeous swimming pool (which... More

Absolutely beautiful little Chateau - very romantic, beautiful setting. Lovely infinity pool, bedrooms are beautifully decorated and linen is well chosen. The restaurant - well - what more can I say.. We took our two boys, aged 8 and 10 - the waitor was superb at designing a dish they would enjoy - the food was fantastic. We will definitely... More

Everything about the hotel seems a bit less than we expected after reviewing their web site. The room in the turret was nice, but felt a bit tired. The bathroom was small and relatively dark. The common areas definitely felt like they could use a makeover. Breakfast was good. The grounds are nice, but again, not as nice as one... More

We stayed in the modern wing. Our room was very nice and could sleep 4 people comfortably. The staff was very friendly and helpful the grounds were beautiful. Amazing breakfast and the restaurant was one of my best meals ever. I would recommend for any family with kids.

We wanted to tour the large dramatic Loire castles, but I also wanted to treat my wife to staying in a small castle of our own. Chateau de Pray was a perfect place! This castle is really old with it's foundation going back into the 1200's. The view from our turret room, the top floor in the larger turret, was... More

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Amboise . The building and gardens are quite grand and the rooms adequate but sadly the service did not match the grandeur. From the basic welcome and the indifference of staff in general it felt like Basil Fawlty had done the staff training . A good experience could have been great with... More

Whilst the room we had on a ground floor corner was adequate, if a little small, it is the grounds that need a lot of attention. The gravel paths full of weeds, lots of untended/unpruned bushes, steps outside our room not swept for eons, outdoor furniture in need of paint. However, the restaurant was in direct contrast. Great menu, great... More

We spent three night at the Chateau de Pray, a lovely castle located 2 miles from Amboise, with acres of woods, large gardens, a heated swimming pool, and a terrace where we had dinner twice. We chose a room in the castle itself: it was perfectly comfortable, quiet, light, with antique furniture, a modern marble bathroom including a large bathtub... More

Where do we start. We booked for 2 nights as we had heard that Amboise was a lovely place to visit. What a great decision. It started well with a lovely greeting at reception. Who then gave us a tour of the chateaux before taking us to our room. Things then got better, the room was fantastic, the best most... More

We had a short but very special stay at Chateau de Pray on Bastille Day. The rooms were small but beautifully appointed. The bathrooms were completely modern and the Wifi was excellent. The best part of the stay was the amazing meal we had at the restaurant. Everyone's food was fabulous, right down to the amazing selection of cheeses. We... More
