Located a little outside the pretty town of Amboise, the chateau is everything it promises to be - charming, old world and luxurious. The hotel & grounds made me fall in love with them at first sight, and the decor inside matches the architecture of the chateau and you feel you've been magically transported back in time. Our room, which... More

The Wife and I made the drive from Normandy to Amboise and the Chateau du Pray. This was a splurge, but we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stay in a 700 year old chateau! I can’t remember which “level” of room we stayed in but it was in the main chateau, bottom left from the parking lot. It was... More

We could stay here only for a night. The hotel is a pricey choice for staying in Amboise but is every bit the charming chateau experience that it promises. The property is a delight to look at and the decor inside is brimming with old world charm. The room we had was a bit small but cosy and the bathroom though compact... We stayed four nights. No complaints at all about this place. Breakfast was delightful; rooms very clean; beds very comfortable, restaurant fantastic- several of the best meals on our 3 week trip. Location was wonderful; close to many area chateaux. I highly recommend this place to future travelers. The only downside is stairs if you have mobility problems.

This is a lovely chateau, with very small but beautifully decorated rooms. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, but pricey. There were very few staff in the evening or the morning so they were very busy. The restaurant in the hotel was too expensive to entice us, so we walked down the road about 15 minutes to a good option.

Charming and very comfortable hotel - the rooms are beautifully decorated and the gardens beautiful although it was too cool for us to enjoy the sparkling pool on our visit. By the time we had dinner our bill for one night was Euro600 - regional France has got so expensive in recent years if you want to stay anywhere that... More

This lovely chateau, conveniently located within about 15 min of both Chateau D'Amboise and Chenonceau, is a wonderful place to stay when touring the Loire Valley. The XVII decor makes it a fabulous continuation of your day of chateaux-viewing. The grounds were beautiful, I am sad we weren't there longer to take advantage of the hiking, etc. available. We had... More

A lovely building with nice grounds. It was raining when we were there which meant we couldn't sit in the outside areas which would be lovely to do so. There is only a small sitting room inside. The restaurant at the Chateau is wonderful and well worth going to - we had one of our best meals in France there.... More

This is a delightful venue at which to stay. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed although ours was small and difficult to access. For the price, I thought that it was less good value than I have had elsewhere in France but it was very good notwithstanding. It is quite some distance out of Amboise so a car is... More

Myself and my wife stayed at Chateau de Prey while on route from the Dordogne to Reims. The building itself is the quintessential French Chateau with all the architectural and old world charm you would expect, with wonderful gardens and woodland walks. Our room was great with an extremely comfortable four poster bed and amazing double bath!! Upon arrival we... More
