I've not stayed at a place that is so close to Delhi and yet so peaceful, serene and had such a kind staff from the Manager Anand ji to Manoj ji who was our guide, server and chef. Loved listening stories from them about life in Uttrakhand and sharing some of our own. Can't wait to visit the other properties soon and revisit Fredy's Bungalow again. And the most amazing thing was that except for one mug there was no plastic anywhere in the entire Bungalow ♥️ And I must add it's really safe and serene at the same time. We were two females staying there alone and they were very kind and helpful, assured us of our safety.
When I came across a video of Fredy's Bungalow on facebook a few weeks ago, I did not realise that I will visit the bungalow for my 40th birthday celebration. This gem of a place, just a few hours away from Gurgaon, became the most splendid setting to usher in my 40th. I wanted the birthday to be special and spend it with only very near family friends. So we took the entire bungalow of 4 bedrooms to ourselves for 3 days. A couple of days were spent on nature walks, boating and a visit to Nainital. The last day was a very lazy day spent in the company of friends and reading books. The service is attentive and food is homely and delicious. The interior of the bungalow and the setting beside a small jungle will leave you mesmerised. I will definitely keep coming back.
We spend three blissful days at this charming house in Bhimtal. I recommend staying at Bhimtal, an hour away from the busy Nainital town. The manager Anand ji is a local and can help you plan sightseeing around the area. The property also has a very well written booklet about its history and what are the activities around. Our days were spent walking around in the woods, sighting lovely birds and some water activities in the lakes around the property. Evenings were relaxed with bonfire, snacks and sumptuous dinner at the property. The place is a gem just 5-6 hours drive from Delhi. Ideal for 3 night stay. I am coming back again.
I travelled with a small group of friends to Bhimtal in April 2019. We were looking for a quiet holiday to get away from the hustle bustle of Delhi life and also to get a relief from the heat and Pollution. A cousin of mine recommended us to stay at this lovely four bedroom Bungalow in Bhimtal which is just about 6 hours drive from Delhi, above the Bhimtal lake. Since we were 08 of us, the bungalow was entirely booked by us. I must say, that this was one of the best vacations we had. Fredys Bungalow is a beautiful hotel surrounded by lush green forests in a very peaceful and quiet area of Bhimtal. The Bungalow does not have the lake view, but the best part is that there are many lakes at a walking distance from the hotel. The manager, Mr. Anand, took us for a lovely walk next morning to Sattal Lake. The walk starts just from behind the Bungalow and we had to cross a lovely forested area. We felt as if we are in some wonderland. On the way we also saw Garud Tal, (lake in the shape of an eagle). The view was fantastic. The area around has a lot of local history as well. The things to not miss out at the bungalow: 1) The lovely butterfly collections that have been kept in the lounge area at the Bungalow. The finest of the collections are here and the rest is in a museum nearby. 2) The local Kumaoni cuisine - Food was excellent. 3) The library at the Bungalow - has a lovely collection of old books and comics. The staffs are exceptions - very attentive, very obliging, and took a good care of us. Can't wait to get back. Thanks Itmenaanlodges for your wonderful management of our booking. And thanks to all the staff for the pampering!!…
Isolated and peaceful. All you hear is the chirp of insects in the forest all around. It's away from the bustle of Bhimtal - which is very good. Great place to walk around and explore the hills. Grab a book or a beer, sit peacefully and enjoy nature. The staff was most helpful. The access is a bit iffy and Google Maps will show you a different route but best to call first.
