What a great place for getting away from it all. Great views, excellent hospitality and food. Although there was Wifi available at reception mobile reception was almost non-existent but this adds to the 'relaxation' factor. Be warned though that there are 2 access roads to the cottages - use the one at the Puma fuel station. We used the other and got hopelessly trapped in mud. Luckily the staff came and got us out. A great stay all round.

The most beautifull and peacefull place on earth! I just love coming back, been staying there five times now. Staff and food is just five stars and the views as amazing. Beach is lovely and locals very welcoming. Lots of different acctivities to do while you are there, or just relax. Esther gives the best massasjes by the beach!

We were on our way to Saadani National Park and stopped for a coffee in this place. Because of its beauty we decided to stay 1 night on our way back, and it was well worth it! The staff was super friendly and arranged a boat ride with local fishermen in the lagoon. Sailing out through the mangrove fields with a stopover on a deserted beach was a highlight on that trip! The owner arranged airport transfer for us in their own bus. Rooms were clean and well worth the money we spent. 85$ for sea view bungalow and we paid 70$ for a room for 3 people. Many cultural experiences we will do the next time we come back, and we will. Also, the food was excellent and affordable! Would definitely recommend this place. Saw comments with bad review, they must have had the wrong expectation, this place was marvelous. Erik, Sweden

During christmas holidays in Dec, wanted an ocean view outing, while searching found the name of this hotel and booked, it's located some few KMs before reaching Bagamoyo town, and we had to about 6 KMS through a rough road till we arrived at the hotel. Rooms was sea facing but very ordinary and basic, air conditioners were hardly cooling, there were plenty of mosquitoes in the room though mosquito net was there on the bed, they didn't have swimming pool but the ocean was beatiful. They have one restaurant and we had breakfast, lunch and dinner and food was good. There was no wifi and mobile signal also was very weak in that area.

I can say this hotel has got a very good sea facing area which is not properly maintained, they have to do lot of renovations and also they must improve their services.

We enjoyed the ambience, fresh food and clean beach. Ample space for kids to run. However be receiving visitors and help them with heavy bags from the car. Bedsheets are old and I found bathroom tiles not so clean

Stay away from this hotel. I will explain why. Originally, this hotel was recommended to us by a friend who had stayed here and had a nice experience. I think that he may have been here when the owner was here, because this was an awful experience and the owner was not there. Regardless of the owner not being there, I would not gamble to go here. It is too much of a risk and the hotel is too remotely located. There are other nicer alternatives at the same price.

First of all we were charged USD 90 per room, but given the standard of the rooms, hardly any water, and poorly or no functioning toilets, dirty mirrors, no toilet paper etc, these rooms could be comparable to USD 20-30 rooms elsewhere in Tanzania.

Secondly, there were hardly any guests here, only one other couple, which hints that this place is not really a place where a lot of people go. There is nothing around but a local village.

Thirdly, getting there was difficult. While it is only one hour north of Dar es Salam it is hard to find, and we actually got stuck with our car when trying to reach the hotel. Luckily, there were some kids nearby who could help push the car through.

Fourthly, the beach is not really a beach for swimming and snorkeling. It is used by a lot of fishermen, and the water in the afternoon is not that great. To take a swim, you are best of in the high tide in the morning. In the afternoon, it is not that nice to swim in.

Fifth, it is located in a poor agricultural/fishing village so, yes you are close with the locals, but this also includes a lot of noice and buzzling. At our stay, we had a wedding in town with very loud music until 5 in the morning.

6th, upon checking in we asked if there were any Kayaks around (it says so on the home page). Yes, but we only have one the man says. Ok, very strange, but ok. Upon checking out we are asked to pay extra for the rental of one Kayak. We end up in an argument about this, as they had not told us to pay for the Kayak. This made me decide to write and seriously warn any one from ever setting their foot here.

Sure, it can be a wonderful place if you are a group of friends going for a kind of a local unique Tanzanian experience, but please there are so many other hotels and places which are far better than this, and which cost the same price. The rooms are of a low standard and should be comparable to another hotel with room rates of USD 20-30. Keep that in mind when booking. I would go to Zanzibar instead of wasting your time here, or stay at hotel Mediterraneo for instance closer to Dar, much nicer at the same rate.

We stayed 20 friends at Bomani Beach Bungalows, and experienced a cozy atmosphere, completely relaxing in the silent lagone. Nice view over the lagone and sandbanks with birds. Local life with fishermen at the beach, and good swimming opportunities at high tide. Good food in open area under grass thatched roof at the restaurant. Bar with all kind of drinks. Rooms ok and clean. I recommend the place for a holiday away from all stress, just enjoying the peace ane environment

Spent two days here between the flight from Europe to Daar es Salaam and a safari trip. The bungalows appairs pretty worn out with a standard lower then expected. The beach was not clean an a place where the locals spent their time. The village outside the walls is very poor and was not a place I want to visit, specially not with woman and children.

The restaurant is nice and the service good. Still not a place I will recommend to others.

We stayed here for four nights before we went on a safari.
The food is excellent with local ingredients and cuisine. The staff is friendly and professional.
We went on two boat trips - both highly recommendable! The first in the beautiful lagoon with a small boat, so many photo motives! The second trip was to a sand bank only visible in low tide. It felt like being in paradise! This trip was with a bigger boat, and they set sails on the return trip, great experience!
The beach located just below the hotel is fantastic, and one mingle with the locals. My son played beach soccer with the local boys, and had a great time. No begging, nothing to be bought (except from the hotel) at the beach.
We recommend this place highly!
