This is a modern, newer hotel located near the harbor and very reasonably priced. The breakfast was better than expected given the economical room price. The fitness center was adequate for a light workout.

Review collected in partnership with this hotel
The shuttle to Humphreys runs once in the morning and once in the evening. We were visiting family and most nights had to take a cab from outside the walk in gate to the hotel, which was $25-28 per trip. Despite my complete lack of Korean, we were able reserve rides as needed. I did bring a note in my wallet with our various destinations listed in both English and Korean - this was a major help with cab rides back to the hotel. The beds seemed hard initially, but both my wife and I slept well. The beds took up most of the room - we did have to dance around one another when moving around in the room.

This hotel is ok for a short stay or stop over. The location a little out the way but commutable to camp humphries. The rooms or neat and tidy with very friendly staff. Breakfast is a little hit or miss but that depends if your happy to forego a western style meal. Also there seems to be a tendency for most food to be served cold or left to cool on the hot plates. The bed was a little solid but that is a personal point. An ok stay if you can get a cheap deal.

I traveled to Camp Humphreys at a time when many soldiers were arriving for TDY, so all of the nearby hotels were fully booked. The Encore offers shuttle service which made choosing this hotel an easy decision. The hotel doesn't have a dedicated shuttle; rather, they ask you to sign up for the 0730 trip to post and the 1730 return trip the night before so they can arrange for drivers the next day. The drivers should have a magnet on their car with the Encore logo when they arrive at post to pick you up, but sometimes you just have to ask drivers outside the walking gate because you never quite know what the car will be and there are other hotels that sent cars for patrons. Hiring your own taxi for the trip will average ₩40,000 (approx $40) each way (varies by day and time of day). Not all of the staff speaks English, but there are enough who do speak English well that I never had any major issues with language/communication. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts served each morning. The staff was always very polite and accommodating. This area isn't a tourist type area it's a port town that is more industrial. As such, there is not a lot within walking distance besides other hotels but there are a few restaurants to choose from that open after 1600 and a couple of 24hr convenience marts.

Pros: 30 mins to Camp H gate; Free shuttle (but very limited schedule - 2 a day, once in each direction) CONS: That's where the good ends. We had 15 pax with reservations held by govt cc - when we arrived, all reservations had been canceled by the hotel. Told all our rooms were given away (even though we held with a credit card and arrived at 3 pm). Asked to make a new reservation - front desk said the hotel was booked and nothing available. Called Wyndham - they said our original reservation was in the system and still active. Back and forth between Wyndham and Front Desk - finally, Wyndham made us new reservation (there were 262 unbooked hotel rooms available - Front Desk had LIED). Then during check in - even though all rooms at government rate - Front Desk tried to charge some folks 55 and some 65 even though all were same room type. Called Wyndham again - all rooms booked at same level and govt rate. Front Desk gal LIED again. (She spoke English - so this wasn't a lost in translation issue) Finally got everyone settled. No information about breakfast or gym was provided at check-in. When the group went to the breakfast room at 6a (per sign in halls) - come to find out the breakfast room and gym were closed for renovation - and not useable. Seven days, no breakfast or workout facilities - not good. Nothing about this on the website or when reservations made the first time and definitely nothing said during the check-in. Next day there were signs put up in the elevators. The beds are HORRIBLE - just a box spring no mattress - hard as a rock and unstable (they wobble all night with the slightest movement). Towels - group never had a full set of towels - most days it was 4 or 5 little hand towels and no bath towels or wash clothes. The walls in rooms have huge seams - with arctic cold air blowing through at all hours of the day and night. Says they have a microwave -- not available or not there or not in service. Says they have washing machine --- but not allowed for customers on government rate (front desk) No iron or ironing board available. And only 2 hangers per person - that doesn't work for a week-long set of suits and uniforms. Small refrig (but it doesn't get super cold); Small hotpot but no coffee cream or sugar available. The TV is mostly Korean channels not international stations equipped. The wifi is room by room - some folks had good connections others did not. This may have the western brand name but it is NOT a Wyndham property in function. Note - there are two Ramadas side by side. This is ENCORE the other is Ramada only and was much better. The wallpaper is peeling off walls in most rooms and there isn't a good set up for task lighting or plugs. Only 1/4 shower doors so bathrooms flood each time you shower.
