We had a wonderful stay in Taj Kumarakom. The rooms were spacious and had ample amenities, the staff were very courteous and the signature Taj hospitality was there. There is ample amenities for kids like archery, cycling among others. Walk-able distance to the bird park and backwaters, you can enjoy a peaceful stay here! The food is great and with current covid restrictions, the staff are doing a wonderful job.
A beautiful property with high standards of service and housekeeping. Extrememly courteous, friendly and proactive staff ensured our stay was pleasant and restful. My children enjoyed the onsite activities, limited though they were by Covid. The boating trips organised by the resort were excellent. The only fly in the ointment was the food. It was of average taste and quality and not at all authentic for the location. Given the high pricing of the property it was very disappointing.
We stayed for 5 nights and Taj upgraded us to a larger room. The room was great and it overlooked a lotus/lily pond. The lakeshore was close. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. There was a bathtub as well. The TV didn't have too many useful channels (there wasn't a single English channel available - we had to ask for these channels to be made available). Food was a mixed bag. On the one hand, the F&B Manager and staff were wonderful and catered to our specific needs - we simply wanted Kerala food in Kerala, but the hotel was hell bent on serving Punjabi and continental food in the buffet. I found this to be a tad annoying (who would think that Kerala food in a Kerala hotel is an alien concept), but the F&B team came through. The specially made Kerala food was consistently good. The breakfast was a let down. First, while they told us that the breakfast buffet opens at 8am, the dishes available only around 8:20am or so. The dosa/omelette counter started functioning at 8:30am (if we were lucky). The overall quality and taste of the breakfast spread was below par. The property had a bunch of activities like boating, zip lining, cycling etc. that kept us busy during our stay. The spa was very good too. The property was spacious and walking around the place was nice. There was this one stagnant water body near the swimming pool that looked like an eyesore. The water looked dirty, but it didn't smell. It was a little annoying that I couldn't pay for the stay with my loyalty points because "the servers were down". I had to pay with my card. For some reason, the staff decided that it was my job to follow up with Taj InnerCircle to ensure that my points get transferred for the stay and then request the hotel for a refund. When we pushed back, they backed down and told us that they would take care of it themselves. It only seems fair that when your customer has been inconvenienced for no fault of his own, you would do the needful to sort out the problem (and not ask the customer to deal with it).…
We had an amazing time at Taj kumarakom .We were here for our first anniversary trip and as usual Taj lived upto it's expectations.General Manager Ashirbad and Priya were very cooperative.F&B manager Datta along with Madhu ensured that food experience was the best throughout the trip.Pradeeep from housekeeping was brilliant with services. Also,Thambi and smitha for their hospitality They arranged a special bamboo raft on their lagoon for candle night dinner, houseboat on backwaters and private dinning experience in their currymeen restaurant.Truly special trip !! Thanks Taj once again
Had booked the TAJ Kumarakom resort with much enthusiasm and was in for a rude shock. The premises were unkempt and was crying for attention. The rooms and bathrooms were similar to any normal hotel and did not really justify the price we had to pay. While we were informed that there were a cyclone and COVID had also called for a reduction in staff, it still did not justify the cost. The premises were unkempt with stagnant water, broken fences, overgrown weeds, and no landscaping. The staff was courteous but neither the food quality, spread, or amenities deserve a mention. Overall it was a disappointing experience especially since I had been to Zuri the previous year and had enjoyed every bit of the stay. The comparisons are inevitable and more so as I was expecting much more from Taj. I will not recommend this place at least for now.…
