We stayed here 3 days in August 2023, and rode to the Angrignon subway station to go to Montreal one day. We LOVED the grounds of this hotel, very peaceful and pretty. Views of the Saint Lawrence all around, gorgeous old stone windmill, apple orchard, religious (Catholic) statues as it’s a former nunnery, a FANTASTIC nature refuge just a short walk away, two buildings on site to get ice cream or pastries. Very serene. You can just sit in the chairs, enjoy the breeze off the river and watch the sail boats go by.
The rooms themselves were quite spartan. Very small, no tv, no AC, no hair dryer or coffee maker, etc. We were in Room 129 which had a river view, and at least had its own small bathroom. Many of the rooms do NOT have a private bathroom and use shared ones.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding - ham, eggs, potatoes, beans, French toast, pancakes, yogurt, fruit, croissants or muffins, juice and coffee. Very good!
Our room was never cleaned while we were there, and never had towels replaced. We did ask at one point, but they didn’t follow through.
It’s Quebec, so expect all your exchanges to be in French. Some of the people behind the desk spoke fairly good English, but others not so much. I really wanted to use the heated outdoor pool one day but it was locked. The language barrier prevented me from understanding why it was closed, as it was a lovely day. Disappointing.
All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed this place and would definitely stay here again. It’s SO pretty!

We stayed there during Grand Prix to avoid the high prices being charged by more central hotels. The price was right. No frills here. Small room. No TV. No coffee maker or fridge in the room. But it's a beautiful setting. Grounds are pleasant to walk. Lots of recreational activity nearby. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Clean. It has wifi. Decent breakfast buffet included.

Manoir D'Youville is a heritage site on an island (Isle St. Bernard) just 20 minutes from Montreal, but once you arrive you are worlds away as you stroll on the beautiful grounds surrounded by nature. It used to be a convent but has now been taken over by the City of Chateauguay and is still very well run. I have attended various retreats and conferences there in the past. They have a choice of rooms and full package which includes all meals. This time I took the package for two nights and was treated to excellent food at every meal. Great place to rest and unwind. There is a wildlife sanctuary on the island and it is a unique way to spend a morning. They also offer pontoon guided tours of the river around Isle St. Bernard ride. The staff are friendly and helpful. They have Wi-Fi in the main reception area and in some rooms. It is a safe and peaceful place for any one or any group that would like to stay in a unique location close to nature but with all the comforts of home and close enough to the big city lights for entertainment. A hidden jewel worth discovering !

Manoir D'Youville at 498 Boulevard d'Youville is a long way from Quebec City. This location is really in Chateauguay, Quebec across from the city of Montreal approximately 28 Km. Anyone landing in Quebec City would have to drive 284 Kilometres or 154 miles. The serene location is a former convent and as such is rather spares in decor but it's location more than makes up for it. The rooms are small but comfortable, the beds are comfortable but not top of line hotel quality, just beds. The entire place is very clean but it's greatest attribute is the scenic location on lac St Louis and it tranquility. We stumbled onto this location purely by accident with the GPS and from the gate buzzed the front desk to get in. Although we had no reservations they were able to accommodate us. As we finished checking in we were advised that if we hurried we could get a bite to eat in the cafeteria/dinning room....no extra charge. This little bite to eat turned out to be a full dinner (butter chicken with rice) dessert, coffee, tea, milk.. this plus a full breakfast the following morning...all for $123.00 Canadian for 2 adults. There are currently 3 nuns or sisters still leaving in one of the houses on the property and if you take the time to climb the stairs located on the North side of the property past the Grotto you will find the final resting place of many of these sisters. The web site says they have a bistro on the grounds and you can also get a massage but we were not there long enough. Also there is a pool but never got to that either. Wi-Fi is available, there is no air conditioning in the room but sleeping with the window open is very safe. The staff spoke both English and French and very friendly. I am glad we found this little spot and would recommend it for those who are looking for a quiet place to spend a night or 2.

We loved the location. It's so calm! Big garden, lake vieuw,...The restaurants food was very good and lots of choice! The room is maybe a bit dated, but it's still ok. For a stopover, I would certainly return once more.

The manoir is on Isle St. Bernard and fronts the Chateauguay River at a very wide point, so there is water to the horizon. Guest rooms are in a building formerly occupied by the Grey Nuns of Chateauguay and they are small but comfortable. No television but wireless internet is available. Food is served in a cafeteria and it is inexpensive and good. Seating is comfortable and beer and wine are available. A bistro and a second restaurant are within walking distance. There is an outdoor pool. The grounds are beautiful with excellent views, historic structures and several walking paths.

What a wonderful change of pace and scenery. The minute you walk into Manoir D’Youville, you're immediately transported into a different era, a time warp if you will. I guess that’s what happens when you decide to lodge at an ex-convent. As I was booking my stay, the initial plan was to find a modest priced room and being a solo traveler, a sense of safety. Turns out, not only were my needs met but so much more was offered to me. Unexpected gifts like simplicity, contemplation and quietness.
As you walk down the main hallway you can learn and appreciate the history of the resort via an artistic narrative of the original founder Sainte Marguerite D’Youville and her congregation of nuns, Les Soeurs Grises. You definitely get a sense of their lives as you walk the exterior grounds. You can find an original flour mill, an orchard, a little holy cave. The Manoir is surrounded by the St-Lawrence River, trees, and plenty of Adirondack chairs to sit your butt in and appreciate the beauty of tranquillity.
Customer service was excellent and you can easily tell these people take much pride in their work, something we don’t see everyday. So thanks! The complementary breakfast is simply outstanding. Hot, fresh and plenty of variety. It puts every single one of my free breakfast experiences to shame.
The excellent food does a good job making you forget you don’t have a bathroom or tv in your room. A communal lavatory is a stretch for me but it was clean. I was under the impression the bathrooms would be divided by gender but they were not. No awkwardness, creepiness or long waiting times to report.
Keep in mind there is no a/c in your tiny room. Along with record breaking temperatures, it was hot as heck! The ceiling fan wasn’t much help. Menopausal women beware :)
I can certainly see why yoga groups, companies seeking a retreat location or anyone looking for serenity would flock to this place as the vibe is super zen -
This buried treasure was certainly the highlight of my trip.
P.S. Don’t forget your bathing suit, great pool! P.S.S. Added bonus; free wifi and cribbage boards -

The pictures on line make this look like a wonderful inviting waterfront resort. It's not. The word asylum comes to mind. There is room in the unit for a bed. Yes. That's it. No toilet or shower (that's down the hall). No I'm not kidding. No TV. No phone. No clock. (Also found in the hall, the industrial kind found in hanging off the wall). The smells were also interesting. It ranged from disinfectant to mold. We thought we'd make the best of it and have dinner in the bistro. Again the smell was overpowering. Sauerkraut? Also a burger was$30. Again, I couldn't make this stuff up. Run away. Screaming.

We are sincerely sorry that you did not appreciate our establishment. We are an affordable and very simple 2 star hotel located in a naturally beautiful place. Recognized as a place to get away from everyday life without television, without a clock, etc. We actually have several rooms without bathroom, but also rooms with bathroom. In terms of smell and cleanliness, we are terribly sad that it did not live up to your expectations. The cleanliness of our hotel is one of the most appreciated items of our guests. Wishing you at least enjoyed the sunset that falls on Lake St. Louis

We made two reservations via Hotels.com for 3 rooms from June 9th to June 10th, 2017 on May 6th. However, the hotel sent me emails to tell me that there was no room available on May 15th. That was fine, but the hotel charged my card on June 14th.
I called the hotel and tried to get the refund, however, they hang my phone up the first time, and I called again but just an automatic message.
Beware of this bad honest hotel.
