Out-of-this world location and gorgeous rooms. This made the perfect relaxing 4 day stop after a crazy 2 weeks of public transport and cities travelling around Cuba. Proper white sand and clear blue sea with the waves lapping just a few metres away while you eat your breakfast. However, we were left feeling that this place really doesn't make the... More

I can't spend the whole review t we piling you how long it took us to get here as it is too funny and you need to know how fantastic this Eco Hotel in the wilds of Cuba is. Let's just say that if you flight gets cancelled, you jump on a flight 2/3 across Cuba and spend $180CUC on... More

My boyfriend and I booked to stay for 2 nights here in July- luckily we ended up being the ONLY people staying here! We couldn't believe our luck. It really is a beautiful, unspoilt place- the "hotel" has it's own small beach- gorgeous for us as a couple, but I can imagine if the whole place was full it might... More

Picturesque private beach and quiet grounds. Spacious room, clean and no maintenance issues. Food in the main good. Staff friendly and helpful. Chickens friendly too! Well situated for enjoying the rich wildlife of this area. We were travelling around the south east of Cuba studying and photographing butterflies We stayed two nights and I was able to swim in the... More

This a lovely spot. Great for a getaway or a 'fluffy towel' stop on your trip round Cuba staying mostly in casas like we were. The wooden cabins are well equipped and spacious and set in lovely grounds. It is quiet with comfy beds for a good nights sleep. The beach is small but lovely. Its quite a swim out to... More

The private beach is great. The rooms are nice but in need of maintenance. Towels are poor (only one middle size per person), the service was very poor. Considering the price we would expect something different. We were the only guests and they needed an hour to prepare some spaghetti and salads. A hint for families: We booked (and payed)... More

We spent 4 nights here in an upstairs room in one of the three two-storey chalet-style blocks. The room was spacious and comfortable with very good air-conditioning. It was a bit dark inside because of the dark wood cladding on the walls. Everything worked ok but the water pressure was a bit hit-and-miss which made showering a bit tricky. The... More

Lovely room, great views, clean and very comfortable. Staff very helpful, but just not enough of them - were really rushed off their feet. The food let the place down, which is why I have given it 4 stars rather than 5. Breakfast was adequate, but by no means best we had in Cuba. Evening meals not good - second... More

Villa Maguana is ideally situated on a little promontory with lovely beaches on both sides; The small hotel has accommodation in 4 wooden blocks...the rooms are really nice by Cuban standards. Day trippers come from Baracoa and farther afield but are gone by 5:00. There are a number of small 'restaurants' down the beach to the left where you can... More

I can't give this hotel no "stars". This hotel sounds wonderful. It is not. We were due to stay three nights, we checked out after the first. Our room smelt musty, was dirty and was poorly maintained. The rooms are noisy, we could easily hear conversations from neighbouring rooms and outside. Being 16 km out of town on a poor... More
