Nice people and clean and fair room. The quality of the bed was low. Not a lot of pressure on the water. The food was good. You are not in walking distance of the down town. The Internet did not work on my phone and there was even not a good connection to a Mobil provider.

Located on the main road about 5min drive from Castellane. Arrived late in the afternoon for 1 night. Very friendly welcome by the owner. Room and bathroom spacious enough. As the hotel season was only beginning, the room felt a little cold and damp and the small electric heater was not powerful enough to heat up the whole room. Good... More

Most places in town were booked so ended up here. Stayed in the small building up the hill. It was very basic - but OK. It's a about 20 mins walk into town along a nice lane. Parking was good - breakfast was really good. Wifi worked well. Worth a try if your passing through and want something resonably priced.

We stayed here as a group of 32 cyclists and booked dinner bed and breakfast. We didn't pay much and therefore we were just expecting a comfy bed for the night. We had a great time! Cyril and his colleagues were so friendly and nothing was trouble for them, even when our dinner numbers changed at the last minute. The... More

This place we choose because all other hotels were fully booked. This hotel is situated app 15 min from the city of Castellane, ideally located on the road to the famous Gorges du Verdun. Upon arrival, which was after 6 pm, we wer informed that our Credit Card was already debitted, obviously they feared that we would not come. I... More

The rooms here are very basic, but it is totally fine for the price and location. One weird and important quirk: you can't check in until 4pm. The cleaning staff really likes bleach. This is a good place for people who can overlook a few quirks, but others might prefer a hotel in town. Verdon Gorge is so great that... More

We stayed here end of May, (en route to see the Gorge du Verdon) find the place and town very quiet. Rooms are pretty basic, bed, a chair, small table, shelves and shower, though clean and functional. Wifi only at the reception. There is a common area where you can watch tv and play pool at the main building. Free... More

Rooms are quite basic though clean and functional. But 'auberge' has lots of character, including original watermill workings in the lounge (main building). Some rooms are apparently in nearby annexes. Great location for visiting the Gorge du Verdon, and only about a mile out of town (several restaurants). Free car-parking. Friendly, helpful staff. Typical basic but fresh French breakfast. Excellent... More

Situated at the outskirts of castellane, a minute by car or 20 minutes by foot from the city center (you can't walk directly along the motorway). The room was spacious and clean altough I did not have a window in mine which means I had to leave the door opened for ventilation. The sower was a bit old but worked... More

We stayed at Moulin de la Salaou for two nights in September, just at the end of the season so the hotel and village (Castellane) were quite quiet. The location was good – just a few minutes drive out of Castellane, where there were plenty of restaurants and shops. When we checked in, the hotel owner had great English and... More
