The hotel exceeded my expectations, compact and comfortable, very good restaurant on the site, good swimming pool. A few local tavernas in a walking distance (20min walking), higly recommended. Secluded location, no other hotels around (although there is a bus stop in front of the hotel, it goes very rarely - for going around the island its better to rent a car, taxi to the port was 30 eur). We stayed in executive suite, Room was well designed with comfortable beds. Very good breakfast with fresh juices included. We were a couple of friends traveling, and liked kind of a club feeling in the hotel that was a bit spoiled for a few days by hyperactive kids in the swimming pool whose parents didn't care at all. I understand this is not something that hotel can change. Do not miss nearby Alyko beaches and graffiti painted ruins.…
My wife and I spent six days here and really enjoyed ourselves. The Finikas has a beach to itself, just across a dirt track, and has a fine pool. There were many families here and it is in fact just the kind of place we would have looked for when our children are younger. While this is near the tip of Naxos, there are several good restaurants within a couple of kilometers; Naxos town and many white villages are no more than a 30-minute drive away. The beach across from the hotel is a bit rocky so bring water shoes (or buy at the shop next door). To the right of the beach is an area with a series of lovely private coves if you want even more privacy. Beyond that is a famous beach known for its snorkeling (near the unfinished, abandoned hotel). Pay a little more for the bigger rooms with balconies -- they are very spacious for the price. The food at breakfast was fine, the lunch and bar food was tasty. The staff always had a smile though they work nonstop over the summer. So why four stars rather than five? For a luxury hotel, the sheets and towels had been washed so many times that they were rough and should not have been put through another vacation cycle. That really should not be the case at a place like this. But overall, we were pleased to have found this hotel, especially when we visited the more popular beaches close to town and saw how crowded they were. This is a great spot for a break.…
Our 5th visit to the hotel over the last 10 years , 5th!! That’s a lot….and from past reviews you can see that we had so many positive things to say about this lovely hotel and setting. However due to management the place is very different. Firstly to say the manager who I believe is fairly new was not aware we were returning guests until we told him, , we never received a thing to welcome us back. He did tell us to report any feedback to him as we knew the hotel so well, though in reality he didn’t want to know at all. The staff all look quite miserable as they are working way too long hours , 7 days a week. The manager who they seem quite scared of walks about stands at the bar smoking and not really doing much else. The lifeguard was so bored , occasionally came up to us and informed us we have to have a shower before entering the pool, which felt quite rude, he also had his headphones on constantly. The swimming pool turns any light coloured swim clothing Yellow… ruined 3 of our costumes. The hotel itself still looks nice, though a little tired now and rooms need updating . The restaurant food is ok, but just ok. But the main pint of this review is one evening I ordered the prawn pasta , after eating one prawn I knew there was something not quite right, so left the others in the bowl . 3am the following morning I was very sick with food poisoning. We informed the manager and he did not believe us and said we would need to go to the doctors to prove it. He did not make a note of it or apologise or anything. An absolute appalling service. After this we could not wait to leave the Finikas a very different story to previous years. A message to the owner- change your management and you have to bring the hotel back to how it use to be. Also, good hygiene needs to be improved - others may have also been sick but we will never know as the manager refused to believe us. Very sad, we will not be returning.…
I loved our room which had a hot tub and large balcony overlooking sea. The service of our room and at the restaurant was excellent. The food was excellent and very reasonable. The staff attended to all of our needs and I felt very pampered. Although I was surprised how far it was to the town/port, I have to admit I liked the rural area. I went on walks on the dirt road along the sea and the beach and up the hills. We walked to a local restaurant which was away from all of the commercialization at the other islands and Athens. We even saw a goat herder with his goats on the road close to our hotel. It was nice to see another side of Greece!
The hotel staff greeted us, very politely, had us fill out the usual paperwork, and showed us to our room, which was across the open pool/courtyard. Got us into our room, showed us around, and informed us about the poolside bar and restaurant...including when breakfast was, and hours for lunch and dinner. The view was, in a word, stunning. While the bar was somewhat limited, it has at least a couple options for each popular spirit. The pool had plenty of lounges and umbrellas for those attending. If the hotel staff was polite and eager, the restaurant staff was simply amazing...particularly Sofia and Anna, who were so attentive and conversational (and informative). Marina, the chef, is spectacular. She elevated the hotel with her food. Simple, but delicious plates. The linguini with shrip and grilled octopus were possibly the best dishes we had during our trip...and we were in Athens, Heraklion and Oia...so we tasted a lot! Outstanding, relaxing, and luxurious. We had a wonderful stay, and are looking forward to returning!…
Wonderfull & Amazing. Beautiful location, the sea are spectacular, beach hotel with umbrella perfect. The hotel is beautiful, the restaurant very good. Beautiful swimming pool. And to conclude at the best very nice & friendly staff. Congratulations also to the owner, we had problem with AC, she immediately proposing a solution and compensation. A wonderful place manage with great care.
We were visitors and stayed on the beach in front of this hotel. We ordered a pizza and club sandwich plus two bottles of beer. It costed us around 26 euro plus 10 for the beds on the beach. Quite a relaxing place and the food was not bad! We spent almost the whole afternoon on this beach unplanned.
We loved this place! We were treated so well and so kindly by all the staff from the moment we arrived. The continental breakfast was outstanding - nothing like it is in the states. The bread, the pastries, the cake, the cheese, the meat, etc. was never ending and wonderful. The hotel is somewhat remote, but that added to the experience. We rented a car and loved the drive back to Naxos Town and the sights along the way. Our daughter named the "resort cat" Keith, so if you go, ask about Keith...We highly recommend this hotel for its service, friendly staff, amenities, location, and ambiance. We will be back!
Excellent laid back location. Great room with privacy. Some lovely beaches nearby. Very friendly family run hotel but they do respect your privacy and are a true 4 star establishment. My only suggestion is that they offer a coffee option before 8a but I know this is not common in the area - it would go a long way! : )
This place was the first place we stayed once in Greece and it set the standard for the remaining hotels in all of Greece. The property is absolutely gorgeous, very close to the water and the staff were FANTASTIC!!! Thank you Ana, Chris, Sophia and Anastasia for an exceptional experience my family will never forget. :)
