Detailed Reviews
we have been there for winter holiday, living in a neaby hut which belongs to the hotel and was pretty new with an excellent view over the whole region. The location is perfect for exploring the Golsfjellet or the surrounding more or less flat area. There is also a small skiing resort nearby. The hotel crew is very friendly and uncomplicated.

The most friendly staff you will ever meet. The place has its unique atmosphere and you can sense the 100 years gone in the fjell.
Breakfast was good and plenty. 4 course dinner at night was much better than expected. Quite and cosy. We loved it

This is a great homely hotel, with lovely food and a nice vibe with the ability to ski right from the front door. But, what makes it super special are the staff - they make you feel incredibly welcome and are bright and smiley all the time - The manager and Martin have created an amazing place.

Well-kept hotel, built all in wood, with the restaurant room and some rooms overlooking the beautiful surrounding landscape.
The rooms are spacious, warm and bright, have a balcony and are simply furnished.
Bed not very comfortable.
Discreet breakfast and very kind staff.

My husband and I and another couple spent a night at this wonder hotel. Unfortunately on our way up there we had a puncture so we arrived at the hotel quite late. Elin received us so warmly and upon our request had no problem in arranging a wonderful dinner for us. The hotel is special, we had a nice room and wonderful food - breakfast fit for kings.. and more than that the warm hospitality. We were sorry we only spent one night however we can definately recommend to others. Thanks Elin (we had a tyre changed at the place you recommended).

We spent a week based at this hotel on a Naturetrek tour. From the friendly welcome and ever-helpful information, to the comfortable en-suite rooms with balcony views, it was superb - the best food I think I've ever experienced in Europe, with a magnificent smorgasbord breakfast from which we had arranged to make lunch, to the 4 course evening delight - each course delicate and beautifully presented, alternating meat and fish. And the location on the plateau, with gentle walks with our special Naturetrek guide Jessica, and beautiful scenery, made this a most memorable time.

Father and son were Lucky enough to get a last minute room for a Three-day stay for the Winter holiday. The hotel is cosy (only 40 rooms), the room was clean and silent.
Food was excellent. Good 4-course dinner (lasts a bit too long for a kid maybe). Large breakfast With quality ingredients at which you prepare Your sandwiched for the day.
The staff is very Nice, flexible and helpful.
The facilities at the hotel are OK. We liked the small free ski lift and the ski slope beside the hotel and all the country ski tracks starting in all directions from the hotel. We liked the lavvo (large tippi) Close to the hotel where we could light Your fire and grill Our sausages (in pure Norwegian tradition).
THe other facilities at the hotel could be upgraded. The sauna smells very bad and the playroom is useless (the advertised billiard and pingpong table are in a bad shape).
It was a very pleasant stay, maybe more for couples than for families

We stayed in the wedding suite with our three children. Great experience with jacuzzi in bathroom.
Bed Canopy for the grownups and extra beds for the kids. Self chosen so we could have all of us in the same suite.
Golsfjellet is familyfriendly and lots of skislopes just outside the door.
Kamben hosted the very first Eastern tourists at Golsfjellet.
Tasteful norwegian style food for dinner. W ould like a visible weekmenu in the reception.

Our familiy has spent 2 winter holidays at Kampen. We have rented the small cottage "Kula" and "Stædehytta". The dinners we have enjoyed at the hotel. Kamben is easy accessable with car and the hotel is nicely located at the best area at Golsfjellet. The area offers nice downhills and cross country ski-ing tracks for both skilled and less skilled skiers. The host of Kamben (Elin & Martin) shows always the right attention and you really feel as a guest during the stay. Our family looks forward getting back for our next relaxing holiday at Kamben!

A place made even better by a very attentive, friendly and welcoming host couple (Martin & Elin).
Old and romantic rooms in the old section, newer and larger rooms in the expanded section. Breakfast table a real treat, plenty of good food for everyone. All well and delicately presented. Dinner is always a treat (no a la carte), - fixed menu with three courses and a complimentary hors d'oeuvre from the kitchen. Good selection of wine, - the Romanian reds are fully recommended. Dinner is served with loving care by people of unique qualities, and Elin is always around to make sure everyone is having a good time.
Goes witout saying that Golsfjellet is a top venue for Nordic skiing. All tracks are really first class. No reason to go anywhere else, as all the Dutch, British, Danish guests already have found out.
Kamben is a real treat, can't wait to get back! Winter, Summer or Fall - always a pleasure
