Hamersay House is a well presented Hotel And restaurant, very clean and tidy. The menu is top notch with a variety of local fish, seafood and meat dishes, and specials with a a very satisfactory wine list. The welcome and service was excellent too.

My wife and I were on an Island hopping trip never having visited the Outer Hebrides before. We arrived on a very rainy day with a stiff breeze blowing, not the best of holiday weather. The greeting we had at reception was warm and a quick conversation about fishing boats was had! Room was warm and comfortable and filled the... More

Just went for dinner. The dining room was stuffy, noisy and crowded but food v good - wine not so good and with quite a limited selection. Greeting rather acerbic as we turned up 10 mins early! but eventually service was attentive.

Had 1 night's stay here in July. Didn't much enjoy the Uists themselves but had a good experience of this hotel. It's very pleasantly and freshly decorated - feeling modern and fresh yet comfortable. Our room was good - wee bit on the snug side perhaps - but everything we needed. Had a lovely 3 course dinner all - good... More

My wife and I loved this Lochmaddy hotel. The hotel is colourful but tasteful from the exterior, and the interior public areas and guest bedrooms are all freshly decorated to a high standard. We only stayed here for one night of our road trip through the Outer Hebrides, but we did thoroughly enjoy our stay. After a nice welcome at... More

We had a great two nights here. Would have stayed for longer if we'd known it was so fabulous. Staff were great, accommodation great, food was excellent. A wee gem in the outer isles. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The Hamersay House is definitely the nicest place to stay in Lochmaddy. It's just a short walk or drive from the ferry. The staff were excellent and made me feel very welcome during my two night stay. The room was quite spacious and had a good wifi signal. Breakfast each morning was a good spread of cold food as well... More

We chose Hamarsay House as part of our tour of the Western Isles and stayed two nights. We had been without luggage since 4 days before and I was actually very ill which could have affected everything, but we were warmly welcomed. I had deliberately chosen Room 9 which is the ground floor room with disabled accommodations. I understand that... More

We stayed here for two nights on a recent tour of the Outer Hebrides. We had a pleasant, spacious room which was very light and cheerful. We had dinner in the restaurant on both evenings, and the food was very good. I would have liked to see more fresh fruit at breakfast, but this is just my preference. The staff... More

If you enjoy having access to the Internet in your bedroom which is now normal in good hotels then don't stay here. I stayed in room 8 which was on the upper floor and the furthest away from reception where there was no hotel WiFi signal. There was a good signal on the ground floor and outside those upper floor...
