The Hamersay House is definitely the nicest place to stay in Lochmaddy. It's just a short walk or drive from the ferry. The staff were excellent and made me feel very welcome during my two night stay. The room was quite spacious and had a good wifi signal. Breakfast each morning was a good spread of cold food as well... More

We chose Hamarsay House as part of our tour of the Western Isles and stayed two nights. We had been without luggage since 4 days before and I was actually very ill which could have affected everything, but we were warmly welcomed. I had deliberately chosen Room 9 which is the ground floor room with disabled accommodations. I understand that... More

We stayed here for two nights on a recent tour of the Outer Hebrides. We had a pleasant, spacious room which was very light and cheerful. We had dinner in the restaurant on both evenings, and the food was very good. I would have liked to see more fresh fruit at breakfast, but this is just my preference. The staff... More

If you enjoy having access to the Internet in your bedroom which is now normal in good hotels then don't stay here. I stayed in room 8 which was on the upper floor and the furthest away from reception where there was no hotel WiFi signal. There was a good signal on the ground floor and outside those upper floor... I stayed here recently with a friend one for night on an island-hopping experience. The hotel is newly built, clean and modern. It is located in a short distance from the ferry terminal, easy to find and only a short walk from the village where there is a pub as well as a small gift shop/museum. Our bedrooms at the... More

We stayed here as part of our island hopping holiday and would rate this as the best hotel we stayed in .The welcome was very warm and the reception area smells spa-like. Our room was large and very clean and modern. We dined in their restaurant and had a wonderful meal. Breakfast was really good and set us up for... More

We stayed here one night as part of an island hopping trip and I have to agree with other reviewers - this is a lovely hotel. For such a small hotel, the standards are as good as a high class hotel. The room was comfortable and very pleasantly fitted out. The restaurant was excellent, and the staff worked hard to... More

My wife and I visited Hamersay House in Lochmaddy for dinner one evening recently, with two friends, one of whom lives in North Uist. I would mention that there is plenty of free parking in the hotel car park and in the immediate vicinity. On his recommendation, we had reserved a table for the evening and were warmly welcomed by... We arrived at Hamersay House in glorious sunshine and found it very welcoming. The hotel is small but we were offered a choice of rooms and chose a very good sized, bright room on the first floor. There were two chairs and a small table at a window with a lovely open view. The hotel is close to Lochmaddy. The... More

Hamersay House is a short drive from the Ferry port and ideally placed to explore the Islands. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was a little noisy due to the adjoining door to the room next door. Sound insulation poor. Sadly no one serviced our room. The restaurant was good and value for money.
