You will definitely not go hungry when you have had something to eat here. The chicken strips are plentiful and the fillet of haddock is extraordinary. Excellent service and stunning views with a wide selection of drinks

The Public Bar offered the only refuge from the downpour outside, all the remaining seats in the lounge bar having been taken. The menu stuck to the table it was so greasy and the staff were rushed off their feet. The soup was fine but the pakoras were dry, the fish pieces excellent and the chips just OK whilst the... More

Our second visit to Lochmaddy Hotel, and once again we enjoyed the informal and generous hospitality. After a full day out in the North Uist countryside, it was great to get back to comfortable rooms and top quality cooking! Can strongly recommend.

After reading reviews on here I was worried about staying to be honest but it was really nice. Yes it's a bit tired and needs updating but it's not exactly expensive. We were 2 adults and 2 children and got a lovely family room with huge bathroom and bath which over looked the water and the ferry coming in every... More

We had lunch here , unfortunately the waitress was very unfriendly , such a shame as the food was very nice , if anywhere else had been open we would have walked out . A shame when one of our group was a local lady .

Arrived on Friday night to stay over till we got into our holiday cottage on the Saturday. Reception was closed when we arrived but barman couldn't have been more helpful and check in was easy. Our room (24) was clean but def in need of upgrade as furniture and fittings were scratched and looked scruffy. Bed was ok but not... More

Stayed a couple of nights in this hotel and I must say I've stayed in better. Plumbing played tunes when the toilet was flushed, shower had a snowball or fire setting and nothing in between once you managed to squeeze yourself into the shower cubicle, remnants of an biscuit were left over from previous guests which the dog quickly gobbled... Had an overnight while travelling north. bedroom was comfortable without being fancy, great view out over the water. The bar was very busy but the very attentive staff soon found a table for dinner. Food was very good , a place I'd return to

Known for good food and good service usually, quite busy this time and we had the last table in the bar. We were looking for 2 courses, main and sweet, this we communicated on arrival. Service wasn't fast, no problem, to be expected. Food quality - all had seafood, was good. When the course was finished we said we would... More
