Had an overnight while travelling north. bedroom was comfortable without being fancy, great view out over the water. The bar was very busy but the very attentive staff soon found a table for dinner. Food was very good , a place I'd return to

Known for good food and good service usually, quite busy this time and we had the last table in the bar. We were looking for 2 courses, main and sweet, this we communicated on arrival. Service wasn't fast, no problem, to be expected. Food quality - all had seafood, was good. When the course was finished we said we would... More

Booked a room for 1 night as a stop off before the ferry. Room 16, has a heating pipe in it which constantly makes a loud noise. No way of turning off obviously one of the main water heating pipes. I thought it was just the heater in the room as the room is like a sauna but no, it's... More

The hotel is probably the main building in Lochmaddy, the hotel bar serves good well cooked food served by the very friendly waitresses. We stopped in for lunch and I can recommend the seafood soup. There is a good selection of beer on tap, and a good choice of whisky and other drinks. There is free wifi in the bar.

We visited for an evening meal, walking in without a reservation. The welcome was friendly and we were offered a choice of seats. The area we were in was a lounge bar with all the tables being used for food service. The orders were taken from a fairly extensive menu, and a choice of local specials, the food arrived quickly... We arrived at the new pontoons at Loch Maddy in the outer Hebrides. First time we have used the pontoons, but not the Lochmaddy hotel which was looking pretty good. With the number of foreign tourists around the hotel they seemed happy with the fair on offer. Our pints went down a treat sat outside in the sun all good.

decided to have a bar meal in hotel whilst waiting for the ferry and menu looked good. However rolls with starters were very stale and hard as rocks. The prawn cocktail was obviously small frozen prawns..such a shame when there is a wealth of seafood on their own door step. When we told the waitress all she said was "they... More

Fortunately, we had booked just one night's b & b in this hotel during our recent tour of the Outer Hebrides. As we arrived, we commented that it looked rather seedy but hoped for better things inside. Alas, this was not to be. The first thing we found was that the 2 bath towels left on the bed - there... This lovely hotel is in a remote and beautiful location close to the ferry terminal. We did not stay so cannot comment on the accommodation. The bar and restaurant staff were excellent and attentive. Some were quite inexperienced buy enthusiastic and willing. The food was good value and nicely cooked. A superb spot to visit. The community made everyone very... More
