Had a really amazing week full of hiking, yoga, mountainbiking, slacklining and fun. Am definitely coming back soon! This place is beautiful and the staff is the best! Everything is perfectly arranged but more important they really make sure everyone has a good time and feels at home. The program offers a good combination of activity and rest and the plant based food is delicious. The rooms are spacious, clean, have good beds and some have a beautiful view. Will come back!:)

Have recently returned from a wonderful snowshoeing holiday in MoaAlm - perfect if you like to be active and restful. The location at the end of a 2-3 mile track meant we were truly away from it all, with stunning views over the mountains. The hospitality was very friendly and helpful and the plant based diet was delicious I especially enjoyed the yoga at the start of the day and the hot tub out in the snow at the end of the day. And a special mention must go the spectacular cakes welcoming us back from our activities as we all slumped in the nearest sofa.

Thank you for this lovely review. We are so happy you enjoyed our 'Relaxingly Active' concept and that our remote location allowed you to really get away from it all. We are also glad you enjoyed our plant based menu, don't forget you can find some of our recipes on the website too! We look forward to welcoming you again (with cake) here in the mountains. Kind regards, Lottie and the team

Moa Alm is an amazing winter retreat for anyone looking for an active holiday. The location is absolutely spectacular, set in a national park, with views of the mountains. The team are great fun and make everyone feel at home, nothing is too much trouble. The food is delicious whether you eat meat or not the menu of plant based food is just brilliant, I loved it. The yoga is a brilliant start to the day, often watching the sun rise over the mountains, followed by a day outside waking or skiing, then back to cake and a soak in the hot tub, what more could you want.
I am already booked again for a March visit...this is my new winter happy place.

I spent a week here in February with a friend. We are no spring chicks and being kind to ourselves we are a little on the plump side. However that was irrelevant as Craig, Xena and the team cater for all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities. Lottie and Ryan didn’t laugh too much when we couldn’t get into the Land Rover and neither did Xena when we couldn’t get the snow shoes on, let alone walk in them. Thank you everyone for being so patient.
The food was amazing and the wine better!! There was a little bit of dairy at breakfast, which I was pleased with. The activities were voluntary you could still go along and just do your own thing.
I would recommend this to everyone, it sounds too good to be true, and it’s even better when you are there. Before I visited I was worried it was a scam, especially as we paid direct to the retreat.
There were 9 guests of mixed ages and abilities, they were all so friendly.
We took the trains from Salzburg airport and Were picked up at the local rail station, it cost about €20 each and a very scenic ride. Make sure you allow enough time to get back to airport if you have a morning flight.
I’d love to go back next year, think we said we’d be fitter so we could get up the hill without a lift.
Once again thank you everyone for making it so relaxing but more importantly so much fun!!!

This was my second time at MoaAlm. After experiencing the beautiful summer hikes, I came back for the winter magic and absolutely loved every bit of it.

The team at MoaAlm goes out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and taken care of. The activities are curated with great care, fitting the different wishes of the group. I especially enjoyed the snowshoe hikes as well as the rodel/sledging adventures. The scenery is stunning and we have been taken on some beautiful tours.

The MoaAlm itself is a wonderful place to come back to after a day of adventures in nature. The space is cozy, the food is delicious and the terrace and hot tub have a beautiful outlook over the mountains.

The biggest gift of this week at MoaAlm was however the feeling of being "out of time and space" and in a state of "flow", thanks to the remote location and the wonderful team that makes sure the guests have the best possible experience! Heartfelt thank you to Xania, Ryan, Lottie, Gloria and Kat :)

We had an amazing and wonderful time. Everyone working at MoaAlm is not only friendly and focused on making sure that you have an incredible holiday but they love what they do as well. If you are thinking about going here for holiday we could not tell you not too. The food is great, the hot tub relaxing, the views are stunning, the location is private, and your body will thank you for all the moving and sports you are going to do. Also you cannot go wrong getting a Cocktail made from Ryan or someone at the bar after hiking with Petra. Book your holiday here because we plan on doing it again.

It was a memorable vacation! The staff was really nice, very helpful and attentive to details. I discovered plant-based meals with fantastic chefs, who were attentive to my intolerances so that I enjoyed all the menus! The activities were well organized allowing us to discover and enjoy the wonderful mountains, alternating with moments of pure relaxation that made this week fantastic. Despite being a novice in yoga practice, I loved having it every morning! I would go back immediately, I warmly thank all the people who helped make this holiday unforgettable and I can only guarantee it is worth it!

MoaAlm offers a genuine retreat from the cares of the world - its clean air, superb vegan food, daily yoga classes, genuine welcome from the MoaAlm team, comfortable rooms, and options to explore the Alps in winter made this an unforgettable holiday. I arrived by myself but departed with wonderful new friends - the week's shared experiences allowed everyone without exception to bond during the time I was there. Its also a place to bring out the inner and sometimes forgotten child in all of us - with winter snow all around and tobogganing (rodelling) down the mountain track to the village this was fun, fun, fun!!!! You can be active by joining the snow shoe hiking and cross country skiing options on offer (both firsts for me), do your own thing downhill skiing and snowboarding or just chill out around the chalet doing your own thing. I loved it!

MoaAlm is an amazing place not only for its location but mostly because of people making this yoga and hiking retreat so exceptional!
Rooms are very clean and cozily furnished. All staff members are very helpful and welcoming. Getting back from hikes to freshly backed cake and drinks was better than expected. Vegan dishes will never taste the same... simply perfection.

Yoga classes with Sophie were tailored to the group and activities, preparing us for hikes or helping to reset after one. As a hiker, I also appreciated the variety of trails - was a good balance to enjoy the region and still if wished to sweat a bit 😊 or dip into the mountain lake.

The house and the rooms are beautiful, the location great, the (vegan) food is fabulous, the outside hot-tub is delicious and the view at the mountains is wonderful, My first time yoga was really good and i did love the winter activities. Snowshoe hiking was so much fun to do!
All members of the staff were kind and willing to help you with everything.
The ski area of Kals and Matrei are good and because it was december it was so quiet and the snow was perfect that week.

Hi there, Our suggested packing list is as follows for a trip to MoaAlm at this time of year... Because we are at high altitude the weather can change rapidly, therefore we suggest you bring clothes for warm as well as colder conditions. The following items are advisable: - Water resistant jacket (and trousers if you have them) - Hiking boots (or any other kind of firm shoe wear) and good socks to prevent blisters - Thin gloves and hat for when we go high up - Sun glasses and sun cream - Layers - Comfortable clothes that allow you to move (to do yoga) - House shoes - Swimming costume (for hot tub) - A backpack and a water bottle In general it is lovely and warm at the moment and can be quite hot on occasion. At the moment there is promise of thunderstorms in the late afternoons, so packing for wet weather is also a good idea. The temperatures can drop in the evening or if hiking up high, so it is worth bringing a warm layer too. I hope this helps! Best wishes, Polly
