After a week, I'm still in awe of this place. The view is lovely, the people are nice (Sophie, Tobias, Andrea, Boris, Kat, and Aussie (hope I got it right :-)). No words to describe the experience at all. I feel privileged to have met such a wonderful people who always thinks of their guest, from Sophie encouraging me to join her yoga classes (sorry I missed every single one), Tobias making sure I keep up with the group on hikes (you will forever be the best guide :-D), Andrea's chit-chat over coffee, Boris mouth-watering dishes (special thanks for making Rice Dal), Kat and Aussie dinner stories, and always enthusiastic to know what we did each day. Initially, I was hesitant about spending my holidays at MoaAlm, but they all went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time. The room was clean, the view was breathtaking, the meal was delicious, and what makes MoaAlam unique is the "PEOPLE". It was a week filled with many wonderful memories. I wish I could write endlessly. One day, I hope to cross paths with you again and create more memories.…
We’ve visited Moa Alm a few times in both winter and summer. My only criticism is that staying there is so wonderful that it ruins you for all other guesthouses 🙃 It’s a beautiful place in a breathtaking location, run by a lovely team of people. We keep saying that each time we visit will be the last time, but somehow we always end up booking again… Thanks again Moa Alm for another perfect week! And so sorry for getting mud in the hot tub 🙈
MoaAlm is a lovely place nestled in the mountains above Kals. Sophie, Tobias, Andrea, Boris, Kat are just the nicest, thoughtful people who did everything they could to make us feel welcome. I felt very comfortable and settled, straight away. They discussed with us the next day's plans each evening and adjusted the hikes according to the weather/ fitness and how tired we felt. Sophie's yoga classes in the morning provided the gentle stretching our bodies needed to warm up for the hikes. The south facing room I was upgraded to, had a beautiful view, was clean and spacious. Loved the many charging points in the room. The kettle, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk niche next to the rooms was a delightful touch so we could have a hot drink in the room on waking and any time, really. Boris's vegan food was really delicious! I didn't miss meat at all. Breakfast was a sumptuous spread and the tea and cake after the hike was another little delightful touch. The food in the huts on the hikes was pure comfort food. The hikes themselves were stunning. Different hikes with different scenery. Hard work for a 50 year old like me but I still enjoyed the challenges thoroughly, to my surprise even in the rain! Luscious greenery on the mountains was pure rejuvenation for weary minds. I was lucky to have another great guest, Lou, who I got on very well with. We got to know the staff there very well. They are all amazing people. Special shout out to young Kat and her good cheer and optimism :) …
There’s a special place nestled in the Austrian mountains called Moa Alm. You’ll not truly appreciate the beauty and uniqueness of this place until you arrive. A fresh take on a traditional chalet with Scandi-like vibes, blended with a contemporary rustic charm. What steals the show is the uninterrupted remote view of the Alps. Undoubtably the best (south facing) spot in the valley; which qualifies for the best hot tub view I’ve ever experienced. *add Ryan’s signature cocktails for optimal experience* Now lets talk about the food :). A 3 course dinner is cooked up each evening which would give some Michelin star restaurants a run for their money. The menus will take you round the globe with no meal repetition here. Every course is delicious, wholesome, and a pretty feast for the eyes. Presentation and attention to detail is something Moa Alm has nailed on so many levels (something I greatly appreciate). The Austrian wine served with dinner was a real winner with our group. And the freshly baked afternoon cake deserves a shout too! A lovely treat to return to after a full day of activities. All in all a culinary delight for any foodies out there like me! The daily activities are fun and rewardingly challenging. From yoga to hiking to skiing; there’s pursuits a plenty for you to take or leave. All of which are tailored to the groups needs and your personal fitness level. Moa Alm ticks all the boxes of what I personally value from a holiday. And what really counts, in my opinion, are the people. The whole team at Moa Alm are awesome! You’ll want for nothing and feel a sense of belonging, if (sadly) only for a week. I was also blessed with such an amazing group of people on my week (19th-26th March 2022). I’ve returned home feeling super Zen after my rejuvenating week in the mountains. Thank you to the Moa Alm crew for such a memorable week!! And special thanks to the weather gods for blessing the week with wall to wall sunshine 😎. Until next time :) Gemma (And a special shout out to Ryan for being so responsive and taking the time to answer all my pre-booking questions. First impressions really do count :)…
Had a fantastic week in this stunning location. Really loved the warm and welcoming atmosphere and attention to detail by all the staff. Everything was well organised and the food was great. I think staff here really go the extra mile for their guests. I enjoyed the sctivities, yoga, cocktails and hot tub a lot. Thanks very much to Ryan, Lottie, Gloria, Kat, Tobi and Sophie for a week to remember.
I have spent a week at Moa Alm Resort enjoying the great hospitality of the dedicated team, the wonderful cooking (including cake in the afternoon), the great outdoor activities organized like cross country skiing, hiking, sledging etc. In one word it was more than marvelous and I am already planning for next year! Would recommend it to anyone who likes yoga and likes to be active but also would enjoy some private free time. Same goes for the company of others, there is only a small amount of guests there and you can either be very social or take more time on your own. Breakfasts and dinners are spent together with a different seating every night and a lovely menu that changes daily and is really enjoyable. I enjoyed every meal to the fullest! Also the rooms are spacious, clean and (mine) with a great view that amazed me again each morning. Thanks a lot dear Moa Alm crew and look forward to seeing you again!!…
This was my second time at MoaAlm. After experiencing the beautiful summer hikes, I came back for the winter magic and absolutely loved every bit of it. The team at MoaAlm goes out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and taken care of. The activities are curated with great care, fitting the different wishes of the group. I especially enjoyed the snowshoe hikes as well as the rodel/sledging adventures. The scenery is stunning and we have been taken on some beautiful tours. The MoaAlm itself is a wonderful place to come back to after a day of adventures in nature. The space is cozy, the food is delicious and the terrace and hot tub have a beautiful outlook over the mountains. The biggest gift of this week at MoaAlm was however the feeling of being "out of time and space" and in a state of "flow", thanks to the remote location and the wonderful team that makes sure the guests have the best possible experience! Heartfelt thank you to Xania, Ryan, Lottie, Gloria and Kat :)…
If you look for silence, amazing views, nature all around, delicious food, a sustainable project run by really nice people and an intensely resourcing vacation: THIS IS IT! Come as single, couple or family: it is sociable and homey and the outdoor activities & the yoga will be adapted to all levels of fitness. 3rd but not last time I came!
What a wonderful place and what a wonderful group of people that run it. I'm not particularly sporty and definitely not vegan/vegetarian but the activities and food on offer on MoaAlm were a pure joy. All activities were very inclusive, taking into consideration different abilities and affinities of every member of our group, pacing the hikes, ensuring all of us have the necessary skills and techniques for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledging... And then the food was simply delicious. Locally sourced, bio, sustainable... Including great house wine, Tyrolean schnapps and excellent single malt...oh and the pooches that live there and follow us on our hikes... It was a great week!
I booked my stay at MoaAlm very last minute and it was exactly what I needed to disconnect, relax, and put things into perspective. Everything worked smoothly, from booking and communicating with staff prior to arrival, to the stay itself. The atmosphere at MoaAlm is great, the staff super friendly and accommodating, and it really felt like being part of a big family, sharing meals, activities, and evening board games. It was a truly great experience that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have an active week (without being too demanding), be outdoors in incredible surroundings, spend meals and leisure time in good company, and have everything being taken care of once you arrive.
