I stayed here with my mum for 6 nights at the beginning of September. We had read all the recent reviews and were keeping them in mind but we can absolutely say with full confidence we had a great experience here. The staff were so lovely, always helpful and open to chat. The breakfast and dinner buffet was so lovely and had good range of food like pasta, meats, vegetables, and many salads/cheese and ham for dinner along with cereal, scrambled eggs, beans, sausages etc... for breakfast. The food was always appropriate temperature and consistently restocked when ran out. Many range of juices and a coffee machine at breakfast. On the Sunday night it was Greek themed so there were a bunch of greek dishes to try and also entertainment! The Moussaka was very similar to lasagna and was so tasty!

No rush for a sun bed by the pool which was nice! And a bunch of umbrellas as it got very hot during the day.

The location was perfect as it was secluded from the Kavos strip but only a 5-10 minute walk away as well as from the beach!

We had read of some people having to pay a deposit at the start of their stay but we did not have to do this. After asking staff, it turns out it is only aimed at 18-21 year olds in groups due to the clientele they're aiming for; not groups of young people.

I would recommend this hotel to families with older children, middle aged couples and mother/daughter situations.

Myself and my friend took advantage of the no quarantining rules from amber list country's and booked a last minute holiday with Jet 2 to Kavos/Corfu travelling on the 19th July. Our original hotel cancelled so Jet 2 found us a similar hotel and we weren't disappointed!

On arrival we were greeted by the most charming and funny receptionist (Yiannis) and he gave us a detailed run down of the hotels rules and amenities. We had to pay local hotel tax which was about 10 euros, also paid for the safe and air conditioning, worked out to roughly 35 euros each for everything so pleasantly surprised.

Our room was basic but had everything we needed. There is a kettle and fridge so that was me sorted for my cuppas! There was an ironing board but no iron but I did take my own iron anyway, you can probably hire these if needed. Aircon was good and no problems with the shower, the room itself was secure and safe and had a small terrace with table and chairs where we could sit and relax with a drink.

We were half board so breakfast and evening meal was provided, this was buffet style and always something different to chose from. They do have a bar menu for during the day so you wont go hungry! A nice big pool and smaller pool with plenty of sunbeds was a plus, we spent most of our time relaxing round the smaller pool which was ideal to dip in and out of as it was super hot everyday. We did go to the beach once which was a short walk away and just as nice, plenty of beach bars along the way so something for everyone.

You have the famous strip a short walk away but due to not many younger ones being able to travel it was actually enjoyable (we're both 50's). Spent most nights in the Streetz bar and Scorers where we were made to feel welcome and were treated like regulars by the end of our week.

I have to say that even through the current situation and the difficulties they must be facing the locals were so welcoming, appreciative and always polite, we felt very humbled to be around them and treated as we were.

Overall our weeks holiday at the Olympion Village was up there with one of our best holidays and this was down to the locals and especially the staff at the hotel who are working tirelessly in such difficult circumstances. We were made to feel so welcome from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. We want to give a personal thankyou to Elena, Paraskevi, Spiros and Narkissos (hopefully spelt them right) the bar and restaurant staff who were always polite, welcoming and nothing was ever any trouble, thankyou again! Also to Sofia, what a beautiful person who again made us feel so welcome whether she was just passing or serving us in the shop and behind the bar, big hugs! A big shout out and thankyou to everyone I have missed, including all reception staff, cooks, housekeepers and everyone involved in making our stay at the Olympion Hotel so enjoyable.

Just needed to mention the local Dr who did our covid test on the Sunday (legend) hope you enjoyed your takeaway :)

We will definitely be retuning and cant wait!

After arriving early hours in the morning we were greeted by a fairly rude member of staff . We were charged €50 each deposit(due to us being young ) I understand this but people older weren’t getting charged a deposit when they can still damage the room which is slightly discriminatory to younger holiday makers .

We were took to our room we’re the pictures on the website we booked from showed pictures of a newly refurbished room with a new bathroom when we arrived we was greeted by a shower no bigger than a phone box and an old styled bathroom the rooms did look like the pictures to an extent and the bed was fairly comfortable and spacious but our fridge did not work and you were not allowed to eat or drink in the room which was confusing as they had a fridge and coffee and tea making facilities?

The Air conditioning worked well but it was a €10 charge per night but when it’s as hot as it was it was worth every penny.

We went half board the food was basic but was nice and the food menu in the afternoon was lovely .
The people working in the restaurant was absolutely lovely couldn’t fault any of them always had a smile on there faces .

The drinks were cheap and always nice .

The pool was large and atmosphere was great only issue was the pool turned my swimming costumes and white nails green I also heard peoples skins were going green !and if you looked at the inflatables in the pool they were green at the bottom were they have been resting in the water but it looked clean maybe it was a chemical in the water but I’ve never seen this before.

On my final evening I got walked back by a girl I met from our hotel as I was on my own she brought her friend from another hotel who came with us so she wasn’t alone walking down the hill as it was pretty dark and cars going down it at night which can be intimating as a young girl who is in a different country on there own which it would be at home to . The friend was going to wait outside the hotel as we were aware of the rule of if you aren’t from the hotel your not allowed in . We were greeted by a member of staff who was fairly rude we tried explaining to him the situation we’re he said multiple times he doesn’t care and made a few rude comments alongside calling it suspicious but he wouldn’t let us explain what was happening when alls I wanted to do was to go back to my room and for the girl I met to get back to the strip safe .

Regardless of a few things I enjoyed my stay and would return again at a different time .

When we first serviced after being travelling all day, we were met by a list of rules and told that we had to pay a €50 deposit, of which no families or older people had to pay. As a group of young adults we payed without question. After 4 nights we were met with a letter that if we make noise (one of our friends banged on the door at 3am) again our deposit will be lost. We were then greeted my a member of staff and told to meet the manager the next morning at 9am sharp to which we got up early to be told the manager wasn’t coming. Upon checking out then we were told our deposit is gone from having a “balcony party” at 4 or 5am to which never happened. The lady at the check out was lovely but told us the manger couldn’t be reached until 12:00 after we told her our bus was at 10:20. We couldn’t get the deposit back and the manger didn’t even answer the phone. It was taking advantage of young people because they were able to. Overall the pool and rooms were lovely but the breakfast was below average to the point we had to eat out every morning, the dinner was repetitive and was for an acquired taste and finally the cleaning lady’s were rude to the point most days they just barged in to do a quick mop, without changing sheets on the beds or giving us new towels. Do not go here if your not a family

Where do I begin, a group of me and my friends decided on this hotel as we were desperate to book our first holiday. We arrived at around 3 in the morning and we were greeted by this receptionist who was not welcoming at all, we later found out this was a common theme in other reviews, regardless he was rude and impolite. We then found our rooms and within the first hour of being there the curtain pole had a near miss with my friends head, we then looked at the plastering and it seemed as though it was already deteriorating and needed fixing by a professional. After our second night we were told our deposit (that wasn’t included in the website) was being taken as we allegedly had complaints from 25 rooms full of Bulgarians, this seemed like a false accusation as there didn’t seem to be enough people in the hotel to fit 25 rooms full of Bulgarians, but we figured it was futile as we knew they weren’t going to give it us back regardless of any rules we broke or damage we inflicted. We also then found that some of our neighbouring rooms got a verbal warning about volume and some didn’t even have to pay a deposit where there was minimum different between our groups. I can appreciate that we may have been loud on our first full night but it just seems a bit
discriminatory. Also the cleaners were very suspicious, as they locked my friends out of their own rooms and then proceeded to find €250 missing after being locked out, I understand it can just go missing but the reception were beyond less than helpful as they told my friend that they can’t do anything as they didn’t see it as a big enough deal. Two positives about this hotel are the bartenders, those in question is the one at the main bar and the one in the restaurant bar, these men treated us fairly and seemed to want to ensure we had a pleasant stay. I have read many reviews about this place and it seems they reply to the negative reviews claiming that their statements are false, but I can concur and say that their reviews are similar, if not identical to what I have stated above. They may reply to this saying our accusations are false but believe me it’s not. Every word of this is the TRUTH.

The best holiday in Kavos!! This is a beautiful hotel if you’re looking for a quiet place away from the crowds but within walking distance of the beach. If you are looking for a loud lads/girls holiday then this is not the place to book! They are very strict about noice and they will not put up with it. This hotel is for families and couples. The room we had was HUGE and spotless, food was delicious and always loads of choice. Rooms cleaned every day and a big shout out to Spyros at the bar who was so happy to see us at every meal, The staff work hard to keep this hotel immaculate. Thank you for a wonderful week.

A few negatives stop us giving this hotel a better rating in our opinion. These are, NO wifi in rooms, only in communal area like the restaurant and reception. There are shower curtains rather than screens/cubicles along with hand held shower heads with the fixing so high my partner couldn't reach it! The furniture in our room was showing a lot of wear and tear So the furnishings and bathrooms could do with updating.Air con had to be paid for (49 euros week), when we have not had to do this for a long time on our holidays.
That's all we found negative, the postives were that our room was spacious, clean with plenty of storage, had a small fridge, hair dryer and complimentary toiletries.Due to covid-19 the maids are not allowed to enter your room to clean it, so if you require clean bedding or towels you inform reception 24 hours before. Also you leave your rubbish/toilet paper ( no paper to be flushed) in plastic bags provided outside your room to be collected in the day.
The complex was very clean and well maintained with beautiful views of the sea and mainland Greece. The bar and restaurant area had a pleasant vibe and our breakfast although limited was tasty and had enough choice/variety for us but because of covid-19 you choose what you want and it is served for you. We found all the staff to be very friendly and courteous. Reception is open and airy and check in was simple and quick with information about the hotel.
The swimming pool was large , clean and mostly in the sun all day with plenty of sun loungers, also a small childrens pool. Location is great, but on a steepish hill, with a 5/10 minute walk to the strip, beach restaurants and bars etc.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday here at the hotel and Kavos, there was a varied range of people- families, couples, groups young and old so we would recommend the Olympion Village as long as you are aware of its negatives we highlighted.

There is some good and bad points....

Good points:
Firstly check in was smooth and we was in our room within 5 minutes
Hotel very quiet
Pool area food size and enough sunbeds
Friendly staff
Few pool tables and large TV

Bad points:
Food was average , described as a family hotel yet no choices for children, chips on 1 night only. Food is repetitive and bland out of a 7 night holiday we ate out for 4.
Cleaners kept coming in when we requested twice that we wanted every other day! And didn't even change linen just a quick mop.
Weird rules that we are not allowed to bring food or drink into the hotel ( on a non all inclusive hotel) they want you to buy from their hotel
No entertainment whatsoever only greek night once a week.

It was an OK stay but few things could of made this so much better.

I went with a group of 17 friends, and as we entered the hotel you can imagine we were quite excited to start our holiday, but the night receptionist was the one to greet us and instead he told us within a few seconds of entering that if we dont go quiet we would not be getting keys to our room, as you can imagine this was quite the rude awakening of this holiday.

Once we spoke to him he eventually simmered down but was making rude remarks. He told us just before we were about to given our keys that there is a deposit of 50 euros per person, this isnt stated in the main print of the hotel, and love holidays didnt care whatsoever and said it was in the terms and conditions. We didnt mind paying 50 euros it was the fact it had to be cash, qnd it was nearly 3am we were all tired and there was a card machine right in front of him so we asked to pay by that which he insisted didnt work (later found out it was because this cheap hotel didnt want to pay tax on the deposit!)

Although messaging the hotel before telling them I have a medical condition which makes me have to have AC in the room and them agreeing to allocate me a room with AC. Once entering I found out another form of cutting the budget this hotel used was locking all the AC remotes on 24 DEGREES! 24 degrees is the temperature of UK in summer so you can imagine how annoyed I was, and when i went to confront the angry receptionist he told me nothing he could do at night and next morning i should go ask for the engineer to fix it but no other rooms were available eventhough i offered for a room change. Went the next day and was laughed at and told they dont have an engineer and would be stuck like this the rest of the week. Some of our friends rooms were able to go down to 16degrees but most rooms were so boiling you didnt want to spend time there. The rooms are very disgusting, not clean at all, full of bugs, the floor is more comfortable than those beds, and forget a double bed it will be 2 singles pushed together. Our bedsheets and covers had cigarette burn holes in them.

CONS: everything you could think of, no towels, pool is dirty and filled with algae turns white swimming costume green, disgusting rooms, bad breakfast, rooms, will try rinse you for your money

Night staff called Costas is one the rudest people you’ll ever encounter, dont know why hes even there because the people who work in the restaurant near the hotel even know hes a 🔔end because he waits for you as you’re coming into the hotel to tell you to shut up, ask how drunk are you and other personal questions got nothing to do with him

Honestly go to any other hotel than this one, if i could give it 0 starts I really really would!

PROS:
Bar and restaurant staff were lovely despite reception being constantly rude to us everyday

Decent location, not directly on the strip but a good 5min uphill walk but nothing too bad

The room at the Olympian village was basic and clean and tidy. The bed was extremely uncomfortable the base was solid and the mattress badly sprung so the springs were digging in. I was lucky to be a single occupant, so I used 2 mattresses which did the trick. Mattress toppers are available from reception.
There is no WIFI in the rooms which was not mentioned on the web site. WIFI was one of the reasons for booking this hotel I had to spend £30 on mobile data.
It is not mentioned on the web site that Air Conditioning costs 49 euros or 7 euros per day.
I had the option to upgrade to half board which included free air con. It cost 114.5 euros including the safe.
The evening meal was excellent I had something different each night.
The fridge was good and actually chilled the drinks.
Due to covid the rooms were only cleaned on request which was not a problem. I could have done with a dustpan and brush though.

It is essential to pack mosquito repellent as they are everywhere and very hungry.
The bar/restaurant and pool area were immaculate Spiros and his team were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help.
The hotel is about 150 meters up quite a steep hill from the strip far enough away not to hear the partying going on.
The hotel accommodation is on a steep hill which may be an issue for those with walking difficulty. Requesting a room near the pool may be an option although when the covid restrictions are lifted it may get noisier later.
I highly recommend the Olympian Village as excellent value for money
With all bars closing at midnight the youngsters congregate on the beach where they can't be heard from the hotel.
The hotel are very hot on noise after midnight and kick out anyone after one warning.
I highly recommend the Olympian Village as excellent value for money

Away from the hotel there was no enforcement of social distancing. With people allowed to go into shops without face masks.
Some staff in bars and shops wore face masks some didn't. The cleaning of tables and chairs once vacated was very minimal in all bars.
There was no social distancing whatsoever by the youngsters.
