Beautiful place, recently refurbished and everything is very new, staff very friendly and helpful, stayed for a few days, rooms big, very clean and great location, only a few minutes walk from the main square. Great value for money.

Our room in El Solar was comfortable and clean. The hotel has a very fast internet connection. The staff was friendly and helpful. Each morning breakfast (with good coffee) was served on the beautiful patio. El Solar is centrally located. The main square of Villa de Leyva is on a 5 minutes walking distance. We would absolutely recommend this hotel,...

I can't find fault with anything here; beautiful building, great location, friendly helpful staff, cheap price, nice breakfast, big and clean room, massive bed, hot shower, room cleaned daily...you get the point, stay here!

I really enjoy this hostel. I am not even sure why they call it hostel, since it has the comforts of a 3 star hotel at least. Our double bed is HUGE and comfortable; rooms are cleaned every day; there is a tv (surely not what I would go about when picking a place to say, but nevertheless I don't...

What an absolutely wonderful experience it was staying here. We were greeted as though we were long lost friends, and treated as such throughout our 3 night stay. Martha the owner is lovely. She doesn't speak a lot of English, but speaks slowly and really tries to help you understand. She gave us a lot of information on the surrounding...

From the moment you step foot onto the grounds, you are greeted with love and friendly welcomes. We hadn't booked and were shown to our room for the night. Lovely clean room at the back of Villa de Leyva. Friendly cats and some kittens to keep you company. Internet is available as well as a campy fire, tree type house...

Although the owner that many reviewers have raved about was nowhere to be seen we enjoyed our stay at this B&B. The location is great, the kitchen is well equipped, the garden very nice and the little kittens highly entertaining. Our room was clean and the bed quite comfortable but the breakfast part leaves quite some room for improvement. What...

El Solar is a quaint B&B set in a beautiful location. The grounds are very nice and well-maintained. The rooms are clean and quiet. The staff was friendly, but whoever raved about Martha, we either didn't meet Martha, or she wasn't on her A-game. Neither of the two people we dealt w/ were rude by any stretch, and they were...

Some people mention the welcoming cries from Martha as nice, I would describe it as one big play. We arrived to El Solar on a late afternoon, and even after we reconfirmed our arrival time and the reservation, the place was totally booked out. There was a festival going on in Villa de Leyva, but the owner could have given...

I had read some reviews on here and hostel world and thought there is no way an owner can be this nice. I arrived and the first thing Martha (the owner) did was embrace me in a big hug with cries Of mi amor! It was an absolute joy to stay after that. The rooms are lovely and after 6...

“The private ensure (private bathroom) room is highly recommended as the shared bathroom looked a little run down.”

“The dorm is great for 4 at $25, 000 (pesos) with its own bathroom and breakfast is included no matter what type of accommodation you choose. The rooms for 2people sharing are $20 000 comfy and warm. Then for camping there is a tent to rent or space enough to pitch 6 tents comfortably with more space for shared toilets and showers under the sun. Breakfast is served with coffee and there are plenty of shops within walking distance as well as restaurants. The place is tranquil and quiet no matter where you sleep.”
