Elixir Resort Koh Yao Yai is an ideal island resort situated on a peaceful and private beach on Koh Yao Yai in Phang Nga. The 35 midscale all-villa property sits on a 300-meter stretch of beach just steps away from the glistening Andaman Sea. Elixir Resort Koh Yao Yai is among the first unspoiled resort in Thailand. The resort features 40 private suites/villas in contemporary tropical design with a rustic island style set amongst lush tropical gardens. The unique island layout provides each of the villas with a stunning sea view and direct access to the enticing beach of the Andaman Sea.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
My wife and I chose Elixir Resort for our 5-night stay on Koh Yao Yai and we could not have made a better choice. The Deluxe Villa we booked was very nice and had all the amenities we could ask for, including a spacious outdoor shower and a terrace from which we could overlook the whole resort and the sea. Everything was well looked after and clean.
The staff was very friendly and attentive, breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. We also enjoyed watching the sunset from Tiki Bar during happy hour.
The highlight of the resort, however, is the natural beach. There are lots of trees under which you can put your sunbed, so there is no need for a parasol and the constant rearrangements of sunbeds to stay in the shade. The beach is cleaned every morning by a member of the staff who picks up fallen leaves etc. Swimming is only possible during high tide, so it's a good idea to check the tide table in advance.
I would definitely recommend the resort to anyone looking for a quiet hideaway close to Phuket. There are also some good local restaurants in the vicinity if you want to have dinner outside the resort, as we did.

We have now stayed at the Elixir for the fourth time. We love the peace and space in the hotel and appreciate the absence of tourists who normally flock to Phuket. The rooms are simple but in good condition. Which category you choose is a question of taste and money. They do not differ much in size and furnishings. Some have larger outdoor areas and a pool. The bungalows in the back row are a little higher up and therefore sometimes offer a very nice panoramic view. We had a beach bungalow with a view of the sea and the beach. The entire complex is very spacious. Every day all the leaves are removed, the beach is cleaned of coral fragments and rubbish (Phuket is unfortunately not far away). During high tide you can swim and snorkel excellently. If you swim a little further out you can even find intact coral and schools of fish. The hotel's kitchen and restaurant are particularly worth mentioning. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful, the food is simply delicious. If you absolutely don't like Thai cuisine, there are also a few western alternatives. Happy hour is at 5pm and you can watch the sun go down while enjoying a few cocktails. For me, the hotel is an idyll that you don't often find in this form anymore. THANKS again to the whole team, especially to Win, Reya, Mae, Gai, Sui and all the others whose names I don't have to hand right now. Thanks also to the very friendly resort manager Taro. We'll be back :-)

Location: the resort is right of a main road on the island. When you want to go around the island itself it is best to rent a motorbike/scooter closeby or you can ask the staff at the hotel for this (we just asked them and they found a motorbike for us quite fast. If you want to visit other islands or visit local spots with a guide you will have to book a trip in advance.
Room/villa: we had a small beachfront villa which was just amazingly beautifull! You have a private pool at the villa and the beach right after.
Service: The staff was just amazing (i know i use the word a lot here, but it is.. just.. amazing). We have stayed at more expensive resorts in other countries where the service was below average, but here they are just so helpfull, friendly and they seem genuinely happy with their job.
We actually changed villas in between our stay because the general manager noticed that the pool in our first villa was not the perfect colour (due to pool chemicals). We did not even notice this ourselves. She even offered a free couples massage for the trouble of moving to another villa. That is real service!
They say a lot about the smile of Thai people. It is here that i truly saw that famous Thai smile on the faces of the locals and the staff.
The restaurant: the food here was very good. We stayed here for quite some time so we tested a lot of different dishes. I can say that all dishes were very good. The menu is also very diverse for being on an island (Italian dishes, burgers, Thai food etc).
I would love to come back here with family and friends. This place is just the best.

Lovely little resort, in the middle of nowhere. Staff were friendly and accommodating, place was clean with nice little additional touches in the room, like bug spray, beach towels, bag and slippers etc. Food was tasty and well presented. A few small criticisms, but nothing that would stop me returning. If you aren't very mobile you might struggle with the beds in the cheaper rooms, as you literally have to climb in and out of the bed which is hard to see in the photos. There are not enough plug sockets, so we asked for an adapter, which they kindly provided. A large mirror next to the wardrobe, would be a good idea, as there is only one in the bathroom (not ideal) but as we were only there a few days, we managed. Also the doors on our villa didn't reach the floor, so we had to roll towels up as door stops to prevent the lizards coming in.

Charming resort in traditional Thai style, a bit like getting in a time pocket as Thailand was 40 years ago. The large bungalows feature a lovely room with an outdoor bathroom and a large private terrace with umbrella and sunbeds. The restaurant has a nice view over the water, and there is no risk of overeating at breakfast, because the buffet is very modest and there is no pork served. The food was generally good, except for a single exception with an uneatable mango and sticky rice. On the other hand, their papaya salad was very tasty. Slow and unstable WiFi.

We stayed 5 days in this paradise. The hotel is in typical Thai style and somewhat old, which is its charm. It is well maintained and clean. Fully due to the season, was that hotel only weakly attended (max 10 bungalows occupied) which had not bothered us. For our annual day we had booked a floating breakfast, this was absolutely awesome, rich and worth its money (21€) We rented a scooter twice, and this allowed us to explore the entire island. Have discovered many beautiful Secret Places. Roll rental ran uncomplicated and friendly (outside the hotel on the street restaurant Sareefa.
We often ate at the hotel in the evening, and we can't understand why some would rate it expensive. It is absolutely fair and above all delicious.
The island is a Muslim community.
—Plus— + very quiet location + Restaurant great, value for money Top + super friendly, accommodating staff + Rooms Thai style, clean + PoolVilla 193 megaaaaa + Floating Breakfast world class + daily Fresh towels/beach + sufficient water (6 bottles/day) + Transfer service super reliable + Scooter rental a must 👌🏽 + 2x 7/11 on Koh Noi +hotel's own toiletries a dream
—Minus—
- there was no happy hour - Tiki bar not on - very remote without scooter - variable weather within minutes (normal for the island and season) - unfortunately no bathing possible, as a lot of garbage in the sea

Overall, we found the stay fabulous. We paid for a week in a normal Bungalow about 700 euros for two people. I think the price is absolutely justified. We liked breakfast very much because there was a different selection every morning and you could also try dishes that are on the evening menu. From my point of view, the prices for dinner are not particularly expensive either. It’s a bit more expensive than outside, but if you pay 6-7 euros for a super delicious dish, no one should come to me with “that’s too expensive”. The audience is very European, even predominantly German. No party tourists. Overall, the mood is totally pleasant. What was especially great: the beach is cleaned very well. I've never seen such a clean beach in the world. Unfortunately, it is not possible to prevent guests from sometimes leaving their garbage or washing it up. The pool was also pleasantly cool and not crowded at all. We were also there during Ramadan - that is not an issue for the tourists at all. There's normal food all over the island. In the evening there was happy hour (2 cocktails about 7 euros). There are also some leisure activities. For example, we did the cooking class and found it quite interesting. We liked it so much that we will spend Thailand again next time. That's for sure:-)
What I didn't like so much was the spa area. I think it's a shame that he seems very unwelcoming. That could be done better.
Overall, Koh Yao Yai is interesting for those who don't feel like hustle and bustle Phuket. There is not much to see here, but it is significantly cheaper than Phuket, the beaches are great and you really come down.

8.4 “Serene Getaway with Stunning Views and Excellent Service” We had a wonderful stay at Elixir Koh Yao Yai! The hotel boasts a beautiful private beach and a relaxing pool, making it an ideal getaway for those seeking tranquility and scenic views. The beachside restaurant added to the charm, and the breakfast offered was decent with a good variety of options. We especially appreciated their assistance with our early check-in request, as we arrived directly from Phuket airport and the ferry schedule had us arriving earlier than expected. However, we did face a small inconvenience as there was no food available until 12 PM since we arrived after breakfast service had ended. Despite this minor issue, the overall experience was fantastic. The serene atmosphere, attentive staff, and stunning location made our staying memorable. Highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

ELIXIR is located on the island of Koh Yao Yai, 30 minutes by boat from Phuket. It is difficult to find a place with the world's best beach and an indescribable calm, there are only 32 houses in a natural area that I have never seen before. Many travel to the Maldives to experience what ELIXIR has to offer. I am sure to come back. I have made some short films from the place, which can be seen on aarhustv punktum dk. I can only recommend the place 100%, you will not be disappointed, but surprised that this kind of thing can still be experienced on our planet. Breakfast and the food are top notch, eaten 10 meters from the water's edge.

This is our second time staying at this resort, and it is genuinely our favourite place in the world. (For context, we have also been to Italy, France, Switzerland, England, Brazil, the US, Japan, and Australia). Why is Koh Yao Yai Glow Elixir our favourite? It's quiet, calm and relaxed. The weather (in November) was perfect. The beach is stunning and you truly get the best of both worlds: it's soft and sandy and calm at high tide (perfect for swimming) and rocky and corally with rockpools at low tide (perfect for exploring, but I'd recommend surf shoes and a snorkle). The staff are so kind and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They also organised 2 amazing tours for us while we we stayed with them, as well as well organised transfers to and from Phuket airport. (If you're interested, its a taxi from the airport to the port, a speedboat from the port at Phuket to the port on KYY, and then a 4wd from the port at KYY to the resort. Total time from airport to resort is around 120 mins). The guests are calm and polite and kept to themselves, which was perfect for us, as introverts. We mainly read books in the shade or had a swim, and ate and drank at the beautiful restaurant. We also got massages with the onsite masseuse, which we highly recommend. There's a massage centre by the main swimming pool which is new and lovely. We recommend staying in the oceanfront pool villas. We stayed here both times, and they seem like the best rooms. You get the most stunning sunsets from these rooms (as your room faces west over your private pool, and then the ocean). There's a Whatsapp that makes it super easy to communicate with the front desk. We used if for all our questions and to organise services (massages, laundry services, tours, etc). Super handy. Happy to answer any questions about this glorious place. We're already planning our next (3rd) trip here. Can't wait!
