The main advantage of this hotel is accommodation price. We used a coupon and spent two nights there very cheaply. Despite the price, the rooms are comfortable, even though they're not too modern or lavishly decorated. It's all very simple and functional in the room. The ceiling is high like in some castle. The parking lot is free. We visited in February of 2015 and then again in February of 2016. Heating is effective, that's very pleasant after coming in after a day in the snow. This hotel is perfect starting spot for visiting tourist destinations such as Telice and Seiffen, or nearby sky resorts of Kliny and Altenberg.

The rooms are big enough and almost clean. The breakfast is rich. Numbers not in Euro, the exchange rate is very imaginative. The staff speak only Czech. Minimal facilities, satellite TV only supplement, not a trash can in the room or bathroom Not recommendable restaurant Table cloths were not changed, although very dirty

I stayed at the Hotel Casanova for one night when passing through Duchcov. My largeish room contained two single beds at opposite walls, a small desk and desk chair, table, and tiny television-set on a stand (local channels only). There was plenty of cupboard space. The room was very clean and fully functional. The Internet service was fast and reliable. But there was no hint of anything beyond the minimum necessary for a hotel room: no desk-lamp, no shampoo (just soap and shower gel), no coffee maker, no hair-dryer, no tissues, no safe for laptops and passports, not the slightest attempt at decor, no luxury of any kind. The staff do not speak good English or German, especially in the restaurant. But the printed menu in the restaurant is trilingual. Breakfast (which costs Kč 100) must be pre-ordered at the restaurant the day before, and proved to be adequate. The front desk staff were business-like, but without warmth. They seemed to treat the restaurant as a separate enterprise within the same building, and were unwilling to take orders or payments for breakfast.

Hotel Casanova, Duchcov Czech Republic I recently returned to this hotel after staying here 2 year ago. I enjoyed the new rooms (new bed sheets, curtains etc). Also is WIFI through the whole hotel. Is in a quiet place and I think the prices are really value for money. I came to the hotel because I wanted to visit the Casanova castle (Duchcov Castle) And it is only a few minutes walk from the hotel which is really nice!!! Stefano, Italia

I booked months in advance and even received their email confirmation . When I arrived after a 1.5hrs train journey from Praha I found the room had been taken. They had accepted a coachload of german tourists and claimed the previous manager had left no records of my reservation to the new hotel owners. All they did for me was to find me a room 15km away in Belina and call a cab for which I had to pay. All in all a holiday stay I had looked forward to for 6 months that turned out sour ! Pension Casanova , I believe, is the only establishment in this very small town so avoid it like a plague !!!

Dear Nino On behalf of the new management of Hotel Casanova, Duchcov, Czech Republic, we would like first and foremost, to apologize to you for your bad experience at our hotel. We are constantly on the outlook for feedback and when we came across your letter on the Trip Advisor website, we were deeply saddened. You are correct in that your reservation should have taken priority over any guest who booked or arrived after you. Due to the change in ownership of the hotel records of your reservation were not passed on to the receptionist. We are by no means excusing this error but would like you to know that we now have a new reservation software system in place as well as having straightened out our customer service problems. On behalf of Hotel Casanova, we would like to invite you for a free two-night stay at your convinience, so that you may see for yourself that we offer our guests a pleasant, problem-free stay. Once again, we apologize for your inconvience and look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy a pleasant and relaxed stay. Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything further we can do for you. For your further information, we hope you will attend the Casanova celebrations being held later this year in June. It promises to be a fun-filled two days for all Casanova enthusiasts!
