My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, it has a great view and a really nice pool which was refreshing after walking 6 hours for the Camino. The staff was also very kind and helpful and the rooms were comfortable and clean. I was even surprised to find that the rooms had a small fridge and a small living area.
Wonderful location and hotel! Clean and picturesque, the hotel is 2 blocks from the town plaza and night spots. The staff rocked it! The front desk staff even fixed our issue with bag transfer! The lasagne and breakfast were perfect.
We enjoyed the swimming pool and an excellent meal they even make a birthday cake :-). Bedrooms are comfy with historic flair. Beds are good. We recover from long walks on the camino. We recommend the pousada!
Not far from the centre of Portomarin. Well appointed hotel, large room with a bath. I ate in the centre in the evening, lots of restaurants and pilgrims milling around next to the church. When the Embalse de Belesar Dam was completed in 1962 the valley was flooded. During the construction period major monuments were moved block by numbered block to the new town of Portomarin including the church. Breakfast was perfectly good with a good selection if it hadn't been for a certain nationality on a guided Camino walk pocketing most of the fruit even though I was at the front of the queue when the restaurant opened - I must be less accommodating in future!
I would never recommend this place or stay in it if I was given a choice. Yes. They have a nice view and a pool (that I found too late). Those 2 reasons are why it’s a 2 and not a 1. It’s dated, its needs a serious makeover , it’s hot (no a/c) and it’s off the beaten path in Portomarin. I’m happy all my windows open but I look into the car park. Btw be prepared when you turn on the shower, flooding! Drenched floor. If you are here because you are walking the Camino, you want to be closer to the village center. The staff are unfriendly (I’m American, is that it’s? ) and the food is horrible. I got to pay for a beer, double the price of everywhere else on the Camino. Must be because I’m paying for the view because it’s not for the service. Sad that the group who booked my accommodations on the Camino chooses this place, it’s awful. …
