just got back from a weeks holiday here, i cant see what people moan about . staff friendly, rooms cleaned every day except Sundays, clean towels every day and hot water every day. Food good have eaten a lot worse always plenty of choice. Pool area cleaned every morning, plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. Help yourself all inclusive drinks, vodka, brandy, ouzo and larger, red and white wine, a fizzy pop machine, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, orange juice and ice cream. The only thing i would say it could do with a bit of entertainment at night time, apart from that we had a great time and would go back, dont be put off by all the negitive reviews your holiday is what you make it ..

We returned from Summertime yesterday and I will be completely honest with my review.
Location was great; near the beach and strip but far enough not to be disturbed by noise from bars/clubs etc. The beaches were a 5-7 minute walk and were clean and sandy, the water was crystal clear. The road that the hotel was on could be quite busy with various types of vehicles so an eye must be kept on young children who may wander.

Staff were extremely friendly, Maria in particular who has near perfect English who is happy to provide information about best beaches/places to go. Kostas the owner was always nearby keeping an eye on his staff and ensuring that there was always enough food at mealtimes and drinks were kept topped up. I booked the hotel directly which was similar price to online websites but Maria explained that booking directly ensured a one bed room apartment; the 'family room' description on online sites are actually a one room studio. E-mail Maria with any questions, she responds quickly and nothing is any trouble to her. Our flight was 4.40am so we were not leaving the hotel until 1am but had to check out at 12pm the previous day, Maria was great and let us keep our room until 1am for 20 euros; this was a godsend and highly unusual from previous late check out arrangements.

Food was tasty. Some days better than others but something for everyone apart from if you are vegetarian. In general there were 2 meat dishes, chips, roast potatoes, vegetable, rice and a very nice Greek salad bar. Baguettes were plentiful as was the food. Breakfast was bacon, egg, meat, cheese, tomatoes, toast, cereal and tea/coffee; it was sufficient and again plentiful. The restaurants nearby were reasonably priced with most meals advertised at 5-7 euros however we were satisfied with the food at the hotel so did not venture out to eat. The bar and ice cream was self service which was brilliant, the kids could help themselves and the ice cream was lovely and not cheap rubbish. Banana, pisachio, chocolate, strawberry and vanilla...mmmm.

As previously mentioned, we had a one bedroom apartment which was quite big; the bathroom was very small. We also had two balconies, one from each room. Summertime used to be self catering and rooms still have a fridge and kitchette which was no problem as the room was big. The rooms were cleaned daily by lovely cleaners who were pleasant and greeted you with a 'kalimera'. The bathroom was more like a wetroom as the tiny shower cubicle flooded the whole bathroom which was a little annoying. The rooms overall had seen better days but they were kept spotlessly clean.

The pool was continually being cleaned and was awash with inflatables and kids; not a problem for us but this was really a family hotel and not very quiet during the day! There was no problem getting a sunbed and Maria introduced a 'half hour rule' as a result of a suggestion we made; towels are taken off sunbeds if they are not occupied within half an hour to prevent people claiming their sunbed then going off to the beach for the day. Maria and Kostas are very keen to develop the hotel and are open to comments and suggestions. The pool area was slippy and there were two accidents during our one week stay, both involving serious head injuries and a stay in hospital for both of them so drum it in to the kids (and adults!) not to run around the pool. There was a very small baby pool which was fine for very little ones but the larger pool was quite deep at the shallow end; the deep end was approx 2.5m.

I will mention that a few guests complained as they had been miss sold this hotel by Thomson and they had paid £1000 more than we did for family of four. They were advised that there were kids clubs which there are not, and that there was daily entertainment which there is not. There was a Greek night on the Saturday night and a karaoke mid week but nothing else. The same guests were also unhappy that they had been given a studio which had been described as a family room; no privacy for the parents.

Nearly forgot, free air conditioning too!

Tips -
Book directly with the hotel; this guarantees you get what you want and costs no more. We paid £1400 for the week for 4 of us, Thomson had sold the same holiday to others for £2400 (we had Thomson flights and booked directly with Maria; we also had a taxi transfer).

If you go on a boat trip, choose Odysseus BBQ cruise; it is brilliant and the beach that you cruise to is like the Carribean. The beach is really clean and the sea is clear and shallow so very safe for kids. The BBQ food was gorgeous and the drink was unlimited, a fantastic day was had by all.

I would stay at the Summertime again but we never go to the same place twice as a rule.

I hope this review helps to decide where you want to stay for your holiday.

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Summertime hotel and after looking at previous reviews was very pleasantly surprised we had a great time. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was a good size, clean and had remote controlled air conditioning and full size fridge and a nice balcony. Pool was lovely and always really clean with plenty of sunbeds and parasols. The food wasnt fantastic but was ok and you certainly wont starve, was a choice of four flavours of ice cream and good selection of soft drinks and alcoholic drinks which are self service until 9.30pm then bar service until 11pm. Greek night is on a Wednesday and is good fun. Overall an excellent hotel especially for the price and in a great location would certainly return.

I travelled to Corfu in early July and stayed at the summertime apartments. The apartment was spacious with plenty of storage space, a reasonable bathroom and always cool with air-con. Summertime is located by lots of bars and restaurants however you could not hear a thing when in the apartments so a good nights sleep was guaranteed. The rooms were also cleaned daily with clean towels and bins were always emptied.

The pool area was lovely and always kept clean with the bar and restaurant close by so nothing was too far to walk to and from when you just want to relax. All of the staff were very friendly and smiley offering a very quick service at all times.

Sidari itself is a beautiful place with lots of restaurants, bars and entertainment for all ages with beautiful beaches very close by and I would without a doubt return!!!
Any of the bad reviews I would honestly ignore as I find people expect way too much for what they pay as Summertime is one of the loveliest places I have stayed being all inclusive. :-) :-)

We- my wife and i, and our 4 kids, and my wife's brother and wife and 2 kids take two weeks off in the summer each year to totally relax and enjoy the weather and forget about work.
We had gone in to Thomas Cook in early October 2004 and decided on Corfu for the summer of 2005, we had then decided-on the advice of a thomas cook rep- to stay at the Summertime Apartments,in Sidari; we had never heard nor been to this place before, but this had never been of fault before when we have been on vacation evry year.

We got off the plane to what was a nice place. we were then told to wait in what was a corridor style area, very long and narrow, to be called by the travel company-OLYMPUS-(no, never heard of them either). we then were waiting and all the other holiday makers were getting very frustrated and fed up at the same time. eventually when we did hear 'summertime apartments' being called we jumped up and made a rush to the coach-it was PINK- now i say this because we thought somebody must be telling us something as every single other coach-bearing in mind there was sooo many other tourists being picked up for other resorts,or being dropped off to the airport after their stay, and also there was only 17 people on our coach-we were TEN of them!! so we give the driver our bags and we hop on the coach, he started driving, infact speeding and swerving, he had his radio up, his phone in one ear and a fag in his hand-not a great start.

where we were staying in Sidari is approx80-90mins from the airport, as he told us we had arrived to our destination-we were thinking GREAT!!! we went to reception which was VERY small and it consisted of a bar, seats and 2 pool tables looking out to the pool-which i will say was rather small but there was a load of people in it- but it was looking good because there was OTHER people there, we weren't alone in this one. we were given our keys and we were about 6 apartments away from each other. as there was me and my wife, our daughters who were 17, 16 and 9 and our son who was 12 we had obviously booked a 2 bedroomed apartment-knowing that our son,who had lost the bet!, was going to be sleeping on the camp bed style, where it folds up. so, we walked in to the apartment and there was the kitchen as soon as you walked in, which consisted of two cupboards, a sink and a fridge, toaster and kettle. then directly in front was 2 beds and to the side a door where the toilet was, and glass doors which led out to a small balcony, narrow and wide. Firstly, we decided to go up stairs to see what it was like, there was a bathroom with toilet, sink, shower. then there was THE bedroom which had 2 singles-which we were obviously putting together to make a double, and another single bed, there was also a wardrope and a bigger balcony.
The kids obviously wanted to explore so we let them get their swimming stuff and head down to the pool area, in the meantime what we found a problem was that we had specifically asked for a 2 bedroomed apartment, but what we had got was an apartment which was very small for 6 people but also it gave off the impression that they had just tried to stick a bed wherever they could squeeze one in. i mean 2 beds downstairs in the 'so called' kitchen is bad- but 3 that was just ridiculous. we then talked to my brother in law and his wife and there apartment was obviously for four, and a similar lay out only there's was a tad bit smaller and had 2 beds in the bedroom-which they had moved together, and 2 in the 'kitchen'. they had obviously expected one bed in the kitchen and three in the bedroom. we then went down to ask the woman in reception what was going on but apparantly it had nothing to do with her-but our rep was coming tomorrow at 9.30am so everything could be discussed with her.
so, when we did go down to see her in the morning, they told us that we had missed her and that she actually came at 8.30am-how more annoyed, so we had decided that we weren't going to harass the poor rep, instead wait until we got back to England and go back into Thomas Cook where we had booked the holiday.

Overall, the apartments were very small, the actual holiday for two weeks in Corfu cost us, a family of 6, the best part of £5000, the accomodation and flights was about £3,500and then we had to eat out every night, places were preety expensive in the area and some were worth it others were revolting.

TIP: there are some other nice places to stay in the area, but i wouldnt really choose the area as a whole as it was very dirty, expensive and needs some T.L.C.
There are nice restraunts if you go out a bit, but on the whole SIDARI IS A NO NO!

Funnily enough every year we always book early around October/November as there is 10 of us and we don't want to avoid disapointment!
But, on the whole it wouldn't be a place i would recommend, and also SUMMERTIME APARTMENTS, the staff are rude and cocky and speak the lingo, so you always feel like there talking about you. we obviously, mad friend with other families and the same thing was talked about; the size of the apartments, the ants that were around-dozens, the rudeness of the staff and overall, our DISAPOINTMENT.
So, this year am i going back-NO WAY.

Myself and my husband have just returned from a weeks stay at the summertime and only wished we had booked for a few more days. Very clean hotel all staff very friendly without being to over familier, I did have reservations after reading some of the reviews on this sight but after a day in the hotel I had made my mind to think some people will never be satisfied. It is a all inclusive basis, the food was Greek (that's why we went to Greece to eat Greek !) But still something for all pallets, we did eat out on a few occasions only because the local restaurants were very quaint looking and good prices but to be honest about the same quality as the hotel so no need to eat out . rooms cleaned daily but not to early so you still get your holiday lay in ! Over all good quality ,clean and friendly keep up the good work xxxxx

After reading the reviews I thought I would share my views on the apartments and food, first I would like to point out I will be going again you cannot ask for better in the service you receive all the staff are very friendly and chatty always smiling.

Now I have been told that for an all inclusive this wasn't very good but I'm speaking as someone who has never been on a all inclusive holiday before so I have nothing to compare it to so all I can be is honest the food is plentiful there isn't a huge choice but what is there is well cooked so no complaints from me or my family ,the drinks where also plentiful and with it being hot this was a god send, the rooms are spacious and as a frequent visitor to Greece no worse then any I have been in they are cleaned everyday except sunday's plenty of loo roll is provided,so again no complaints there, and the FREE air con a godsend.

We didn't try any of the facilities and my daughter is 19 so can't comment on the baby pool, the main pool is fresh and clean plenty of places to sunbathe and laze around the pool,it's all staffed so no mess all glasses and plates where cleaned up as soon as left, there is also a gorgeous little white dog (leiza I think) who is pregnant with puppies,if you are a fan of Greece you will realise that this little lady is very lucky as she has been adopted by the owners (currently trying to convince my daughter we are NOT going back for one of the puppies thank's Kosta lol) please give her lots of love but don't befriend her too much otherwise you'll never get her out of your room, she is very friendly and children will be fine with her.

The only thing I would suggest is take lots of protection from mosquitoes there is protection on the doors and windows but if like us you will want to sit on the balcony you will need it I suggest the wipes as they really worked, also take a light jumper or cardigan as the evenings can be cool with the wind.

I hope this review has helped we we're not told that this was a 5 star holiday and if you were told it was I would suggest you have a word with whoever you booked your holiday with as im aware its 2/3 but if they carry on the way there going a 5 will not be to far away.

thank you for a lovely holiday :)

Just come back from a week, and already wish we booked two. The staff are all friendly, a thank you to Kosta (the manager) who bought me roses, Kosta (barman) and the lovely Martina. If you love Greek food you will enjoy your stay here. But like most British people who only want burger and chips please go to Spain, and don't be rude about the food. We have stayed in 5 star hotels and found the food here nicer, there's not a lot of choice but what is there is really nice.
The rooms are clean and spacious, the pools are nice and your just 5 minutes walk into town.
Would recommend anyone to stay here.

Just got back from Summertime for the second time this year, What excellent value for the money, Just can't see what people got to complain about the food, We have a full English Breakfast every day, and for mid-day there was plenty to choose from and for Dinner you have a lot to choose from Lamb chops to pork chops also a lot of Greek food, But you are in Corfu for heaven sake, people who complain should stay in the UK and eat there microwave meal Or pay four times the price they paid for this place, sorry but people gets under my skin when all they do is complain, where else could you stay with children aged up to 13 free in the family room there is free ice cream soft drinks beer and a assortment of shorts, which is free from 10.00 to 23.00 every day, the staff are excellent nothing is to much trouble from the boss Kostas down to the waiting staff, so sorry for the rant but some people makes my blood boil, i've already booked at Summertime for may and August 2014, Happy Holidays
