The B&B is located in a lovely quiet area next to "downtown." We could walk easily to everything and get onto the Camino route the next morning. Marie-Josee took good care of us. We paid extra for dinner with her--it was delicious and hearty. We enjoyed sitting in her garden in the afternoon, too.

We stayed for to nights, and had the most beautiful room, top service, top hospitality by Marie. We recommend Maison Ziberoa highly! This gave us a good start on our Camino walk, with all the good information and help to find out things, places and good advice.

Marie-Josée is a gracious and friendly host who keeps a spotless home and provides a delicious French breakfast. Our rooms and the bathroom were big and the large windows provided lots of natural light. It was very quiet and comfortable. There is also a refrigerator that guests may use if they wish.

It is only a few minutes walk from the centre of town and the start of the Camino. Marie Josee, the hostess was so helpful and friendly and provided us with a wonderful breakfast... More

Based on previous recommendations in Trip Advisor, I reserved Maison Ziberoa for my first stop after traveling all night from US. It more than lived up to all prior recommendations. Small, charming with wonderful personal service from owner/manager Madame Lagord. Thank you!

We stayed for 3 nights in this very pretty house - very quiet even though it is very close to the centre of town (3 mins walk). We had the family suite which contained 2 very good sized bedrooms and a well laid out bathroom (with walk in shower). The house is quiet old and very nicely decorated, and also... More

Located just outside the walls of St Jean de Pied Port the Maison Ziberoa is a great place to stay. It is a tastefully restored Basque farmhouse dating from 1772 with a beautiful garden. Our room was comfortable and had a lovely view across the valley. Marie Josee was a great host. She provided us with good advice and booked... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This residence with harmonious proportions and beautiful luminosity owes its name to its slate roof, characteristic to the Soule province. The House anchors near the gates of ramparts of the so picturesque town of Saint Jean Pied de Port, mythical stopping place of the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela (Saint Jacques de Compostelle). From there, within a radius of one hour, you can discover the Basque Coast, make a Spanish escapade or say Hello to the South Peak of Ossau (Pic du Midi d'Ossau). From the entrance, heart of the house, to the pink sandstone paving, flies away the staircase towards rooms. In the early hours, your shutters will open on the garden or on the slopes of the Arradoy covered with the vineyards on Irouleguy. Chestnut wooden floor, whitewash, river shingle walls contribute to a feeling of serene sobriety. In the book corner with patina woodwork, hearts and stars radiate in marquetry, delicate symbol of well being. The big oak table calls for the sharing of a seasonal tasty and simple cuisine. For your hostess, Ziberoa is a story of love at first sight when dicovering EUSKARA's landcapes and culture. They are waiting for you for a day time or for a full life. ... more   less
