We stayed there for two nights before we started the camino. It was better than expected. Excelent Service, nice and clean room, beautiful view from the balcony! The only sad thing I realized was the tired looking reception lady that worked at least 14 hourst every day and did almost all the tasks in the hotel and the restaurant. If... More

Stayed for one night on a touring trip of France and Spain. The hotel is well located, very central and has parking available. Rooms are spacious and have nice bathrooms, windows are shuttered which was quaint. We did have some issues with the room electrics and could not charge our phones despite trying a number of sockets. Not sure what... More

I actually stayed here back in July of 2013. I arrived at St Jean very late at night having caught the last train from Bayonne. I was in St Jean to walk the Camino de Santiago. I had made no prior reservations in St Jean and wandered around the town for probably an hour trying to figure out what to... More

Best hotel we have had. Clean, modern, and staff very friendly and helpful. Peaceful and overlooking the river. Nice spot on terrace to have a bite to eat or a cool drink and look at the trout. It was our first night before walking the Camino de Santiago.

We stayed here for two nights before starting the Camino Frances from St Jean. Great location in a lovely little town ideal for a weekend stay. The room overlooked the square and was roomy, comfortable and very tastefully decorated with all the required facilities. The evening meals and breakfast were very good and the staff were friendly, helpful and with... More

After a very warmwelcome and then to be accompanied to our room and then our luggage delivered to our room on arrival we got off to a great start. Our room 32 was lovely and large , a big shower, seperate toilet room and was well redesigned and... More

The Hotel Central is smack bang in the middle of St Jean Pied de Port. The town is the starting point for the Camino de Santiago so is full of walkers of all shapes and sizes as the prepare for the start of their camino over the Pyrenees. The hotel is beside the river and bridge and has beautiful views... More

We stopped here by chance. The hotel had recently been refurbished and was delightfully clean and airy. It's in a perfect spot- just opposite the main shopping and eating area and the staff are amazing. Meet interesting people and enjoy exploring the town. Fabulous!

My friend and I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Central after a week of hiking on the GR10 trail. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had a very nice room in the back, overlooking the river. Room was clean and quiet, and the hotel is centrally located.

On the outside this hotel looks less than inviting with its dark stone exterior . But walk through the doors and experience a wonderful family venture . Madame is a lovely lady very accommodating and friendly . Her parents have had the hotel for many years since 1939 and her mum is still there helping out . The rest of... More
